The way I see it, route 1 would be preferred in every case. Even if post-input is shortened by route 2, the ending itself is still triggered far earlier in route 1, so route 2 would just be "suboptimal" in that regard as it requires 10+ minutes of extra gameplay.

Having put some TAS effort into this game a few years back, I knew it would be an excellent watch going in, and it still exceeded my expectations. Can't believe it never occurred to me to use Magnescope to cancel attack animations, those boss fights are insane, especially with all of the manipulation done as well. The movement tech ramps up flawlessly over the course of the run, too, always keeping things interesting even with the backtracking, since the revisited areas are cleared in different ways with the new tech. Endgame is insane with Jaguar Swipe and Homing Pendulum. Definite Yes from me, here, really fantastic work!
