If you're willing to pay a one-time fee for an MMO, The Secret World is brilliant when it comes to unique and fun quests.

There are a couple Vaulted precedents for the "improvements" in this run: [2952] NES Nobunaga's Ambition by CogneatoSwitch in 12:06.37 Disables sound entirely to speed it up. [2432] NES Defender of the Crown by £e Nécroyeur in 01:46.31 Ends input something like 50-60 seconds early. #4045: £e_Nécroyeur's NES Defender of the Crown "Fastest Game Completion" in 01:56.82 Uses only 10 extra seconds of input to end the full game as soon as possible, but it was rejected as an improvement. I think disabling music is fine for Vault runs, though I would personally treat it the same way as I would something like name entry or language choice: There still has to be a gameplay improvement on top of that. Ending input early is a bit of a mixed bag, I like it when it happens but I wouldn't consider it an actual gameplay improvement, so I'm a bit torn on this submission.

The problem is when starting the game "Gremlins 2 The New Batch" (USA version of the game, i didn't tried with PAL version). When press "Start" to start the game on the main menu, it open the "Password" instead of starting the game. I didn't had this problem with fce Ultra, so i suppose there's something i can do to fix this. The input of my controller are fine, so i don't know what makes this problem to occur. Is it a real bug specific to fceux and not on fce Ultra? or is is something else?
Doesn't happen at all for me, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. Double check your input bindings (Config > Input) and make sure everything works correctly. Enable Input Display (> key, or Config > Display > Input Display) and see if something weird is happening with the controller. All I can say is that it's not a bug with FCEUX and it's not an issue with any of the (U) ROMs. Good luck figuring this out.

Audience liked it (12 yes votes to 2 no at the time of writing this), I did as well. I have a soft spot for these heavy luck manipulation casino game runs. If the post-publication voting drags it down then it can be moved to Vault.

@Samsara below: That’s not even worth replying with a post to. Instead of debating why my argument is poor, you attach yourself to something of no value. Whatever though, I didn’t even want to post in this topic anymore.
I mean, you've ignored most of the posts in this thread because they explained precisely why your argument is poor. I don't see what was so wrong about attaching a nonsense post, especially since you've done nothing but post nonsense this entire thread. See, naturally you pay attention to the useless post because it's something you can springboard off of to make yourself look better. The reality of the situation is you have no arguments to make against anything else that I or other people have been saying. It's really, really simple psychology, dude.

Let's say I write a book. In it, one of my characters reads a Shakespeare play and acts out a small scene. Does that mean Shakespeare co-authored my book with me?

If Masterjun is fine with vince taking his input in the end (as he stated in his post in this thread), why would vince need to change it for authorship reasons?
I’ve literally explained why in my first post. Can you try reading it? Authorship is not an agreement, it’s a fact. If you made something, you’re that something’s author. That’s how it fucking works, not “Oh but I don’t care about authorship so don’t worry about it”. Read up on the definition of “author” in a dictionary or something.
This isn't your decision to make. The only thing you're fighting for right now is another ban.

No, the input does not have to be edited, and Masterjun does not have to be credited. This submission is fine and no amount of swearing at the staff is going to change it.

He denied co-authorship, otherwise I would have added him as one while replacing the movie file.

I'm working backwards from BizHawk so these values might be off, but: 0x7E0C6C = Donkey's direction (50 when facing right, 114 when facing left) 0x7E0C6E = Diddy's direction (52 when facing right, 116 when facing left) Should be fairly easy to go from there, I might give it a shot myself (though I'd need to get Snes9x for that).

From what I can tell, it's the game itself, so I can't exactly give any detailed information on how to fix the issue. Try a different ISO or mess around with the .cue file itself, it seems to be referencing several .bins that don't exist. EDIT: Always load the .cue in BizHawk, for the record.

Threads merged. Quick question: Why Snes9x over BizHawk/lsnes? It doesn't matter so much if all you're doing is testing things out, but if you want to submit a TAS to the site you should be using BizHawk or lsnes. Both of them have Lua functionality as well.

First off, SCPH1001 isn't one of the recommended BIOS: (EDIT: It's not a huge deal or anything, it's just what BH picks up and recommends by default. SCPH1001 still works) What game are you trying to run? Do you have both the .bin and the .cue files? Does it work on 1.11.6?

Toad runs much faster when he's carrying an enemy. It more than makes up for the time to grab it.

User movie #31126714660164186 It's possible to enter the door after Wart 8 frames earlier by getting a running start. We can use this file for the submission with your permission: I'll replace it as soon as you give the word (no co-authorship credit necessary or anything). Everything else looks really clean. Great job sticking with the run over 3 attempts and really pushing it down!

As horrible a game choice as it would be to TAS, I believe NES Pac-Man has a crash bug/kill screen after beating 40 levels. But is it possible to get past the kill screen?
There's no kill screen through almost 850 levels.

Why restrict team based sports? Time based I understand, but why team based? Something like NFL street (where it's possible to complete the career mode with all games being manipulated to be first to 3 points instead of best score when time runs out) seems like a valid enough game to TAS.
Repetitive strategy, then, so it would still be rejected regardless.

User movie #31060386670699013 I salvaged your tasproj into a normal .bk2, you can open it back up in TAStudio (just make sure to set the Open menu to All Files instead of just tasproj files) and continue working from there. Only downside is that the author name and re-record count were wiped, but those can be put back easily.

Sorry about removing the judging! Realized I forgot to include the screenshot so I went back and edited it, but I guess I clicked the link before you added "judging" so when I submitted the new one it wasn't in there.
It's no trouble at all, actually my bad for assuming it was intentional. It happened on a previous submission I was judging, which coincidentally also happened to be Pac-Man related.
