As others, I'll wait for an unpublishable .avi to show up before voting, but from what I've seen (all the WIPs), this is a clear yes. Never before has such optimization been seen in a 3D zelda. Some really awesome tricks appearing throughout the run. Can't wait to see moon. :) Props to you for taking on and actually finishing this beast.

See, you're already getting better. Admitely learning to TAS effectively takes time (especially N64), but it looks like you're learning quickly. :) WIP looks great, good job.

Would it be a waste of my time to try Ocarina of Time again?
I have been practicing all TAS tricks on multiple games. I am not sure how well I would do.
I would make sure to post a WIP everytime I get something new done so that I get get feedback and fix the things that you guys tell me need fixing.
No, it sure wouldn't be a waste of time. Go for it if you feel like doing it.

New WIP finishing level 2, currently 952 frames ahead (15,8 sec). No offence to LSK, but I'm quite surprised by the sub-optimization of the rejected movie. Basically all input was turboed through and techniques weren't at all used to their fullest extent. And I still have that 10 sec timesaver at the last boss.

A more interesting speedrun can be the main plot, rather than secret levels. Also, the giant snake can be defeated almost instantly which is fun to watch...
I'm not so sure a full run would be enjoyable. It'd drag out on the time quite a lot, and well... Level design is in my opinion not this game's strongest point of interest. Such a run would be quite dull and repetive.

Awesome. Looks very very tight without any appearant flaws. I wasn't very fond of the camera angles in Bowser 3, it seems like you did your best to hide where you were going at some parts. Yes vote anyway.

Ohh, progress. Everything looks real tight, and I see you've even put some new tricks to use, even beating Rikku at some spots, eh? ;) Just so you know, I'm 100% behind this run and the idea. Looking forward to more on this run. :)

I agree with Fabian's point. We need to decide which one is better. The "suboptimal" play of this submission was less unentertaining than the 40 extra minutes of cutscenes, unnessary routes (now that we know they can be skipped), and of course some suboptimal playing.
This is why I vote yes and think it should obolete the published movie.
As far as TASvideos image, I think keeping Guano's movie looks worse. The bar is higher these days. Sub2hrs / big time saving glitches are expected. See a movie that is well over 40 minutes slower than what an oot fan would expect looks like we are "behind". At least this submission shows the major improvements and just needs to minor things fixed.
I couldn't agree more.

On an unrelated note, this topic has become home of a few new "Most Popular Excuses", like these 2:
- "When a better movie comes along, great, but in the mean time I think this (unoptimized movie) should obsolete the current run"
- "We published a test-run of this game before, why not do it again?"
Those would be a great addition to that page.
When enough of these excuses are added, there will be no reasons to publish a movie anymore.

Craziest thing I've seen in a while. First Pokémon movie I actually watched from start to end without turbo. Many things amused me in this movie, like "I beat Koga!" and "I has blacked out".
After watching this I really know what a broken game should look like. Actions from you that absolutely NO SENSE from a casual player's view, and BAM you cycle over the oceans, walk through walls, catch Gyrados in the middle of a cave, catch Mew right out in the open and then level him from 1 to 100 in one battle. This is just insane. Star and yes vote.

Wouldn't a BLJ-less run be a 16-star run? You'd have to ban mips abuse to keep it 70. Then that would be a "nonBLJ/mips" run, which is getting much more arbitrary.
You can't make it up the 50-star or endless stairs without BLJ.

The reason I asked this question is because, most of the time, your TAS speedruns are the only ones posted on Google Video. It's possibly the only easy way for non-experienced gamers to see the entire game, and when you skip an entire section of the game by abusing errors, they don't get to see everything. Also, a lot of people on Google Video flame you guys for being cheaters (which is technically true, because you're using emulator tricks). They want to see real speedruns with no cheats.
There is a place for this. www.speeddemosarchive.com
They are normal speedruns done on consoles. While they might also skip large chunks of a game, they usually show more than a TAS. And just ignore the Google Video suckers who call us cheaters, they are obviously not using their brain enough.
