I could honestly not give any less of a shit if the game has 5,000 categories as long as other runs are still being produced. Seriously, what's the big fucking deal?
The problem with too many categories is that after the 3rd one (I'm thinking any%, 100%, low%, for the games this is applicable), the goals tend to get very arbitrary.

mr_roberts_z was planning on making one, but dropped it for reasons I'm not aware of. He even made a route, unfinalized as it may be.

I'm sorry to say it, but the camera angles were terrible. This was a yes for just the improvement, but the camera dragged it down. Gonna have to vote no on this, sorry. (mostly the same reasons as Comicalflop)

2. Start a new movie from a savestate on the disc change screen. This one may not be as safe as option 1, because you can cheat with a start from savestate movie.
Wouldn't that require the savestate in question to be provided? If so, there's no way you can cheat.

Nice new trick :) It's similar to the bubble glitch (video available on Youtube). Now, that all errors of the old version are removed, I can give this a yes vote. I spotted some points were you lost some frames, though. (In the future, don't mind to ask me to watch your WIPs. ;) ) One more thing: What is your attidude to the newly discovered pixel saving glitch?
Thanks. :) I was aware of the pixel trick before I started making this run, so I intentionally chose not to use it. Why? Because as you say at the end of that video, it allows for very few extra stunts. Hell, some people bitched over me using the J ROM to save a few seconds, these people would certainly bitch even more if I removed all the "unneccesary" jumps and the like.

I haven't tested this actually, but it doesn't seem to be of the same nature as the pipe glitch.

The gameplay to cutscene ratio for this game is absurdly low.
I think you meant for this run. The game itself doesn't have too much of that, it's just that since the run attempts to complete the game as quickly as possible, many unskippable dialogues are triggered as they are required to complete the game. Or, you could say that since the run is so absurbdly fast, it just feels like there are a lot of them. :p

The whole run synced fine on my shit computer using Direct64 0.0.5 ALPHA and TAS input plugin with mempak checked.

Yes, yes, yes. This run has been needing an update for A LONG TIME, and you made it happen. And it's a good one too. There were lots of surprises in here, such as *SPOILER* skipping the water temple door *SPOILER*. Great run, clear yes vote.

http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3891 That was hard, wasn't it? :p Anyway, it has been established that this game is simply too slow and repetive to TAS. Basically the only way of fast movement is using the fire ability, which isn't very fun to watch for about 40 minutes. EDIT: alden beat me to it. :(

I find Yoshi a bit one dimensional to watch, a more quicker character would have been better say Fox. I'm glad you did the bonus stages this time around but I felt the 1v1 stages were a bit repetitive, since most of them were just drill kick about 10 times and then use a strong tilt attack to knock them off. Meh vote.
What? That was only done on the DK fight and Master Hand, as far as I could tell. The former one isn't even a 1v1 fight.

I loved it before, now I love it even more. The spike on the Mario Bros. stage really was something special. As Raiscan said, this is everything that a SSB run should be.

Very impressive! I loved how you chained the NAIRs into spikes, but I especially liked the master hand fight. If any SSB run should be published, it's this one.

Would it be possible somehow to make a patch that doesn't show the black images with white rectangles in them? I hate to get epilepsy from playing those games. :)
Why would we want to remove this? This is correct emulation of the game.
I know it is the correct way. But I don't like the correct way always. In this case the correct way is annoying and does not increase the entertainment at all if you ask me.
Unfortunately if we'd do that for these kind of things, we'd lose our credibility for not cheating.
