I cant believe that picking the last rocket launcher wouldn't speed the ending. I mean it is just letting you fall and then rising a level, but you don't have to wait for the enemies to clear the path and then take them down with the beam sabre. I stopped your movie and tried (non tasing, with mistakes) and I finish the level from there in 22-24 seconds, and you take only 18... so whatever. I have done two playthroughs in the past, showing what I think are good "routes" or plan or whatever you call it when attempting non tas plays. ie. On the first level, at the beginning I wanted to get pushed by the cannon robot but since I stopped flying I triggered the other guy and had to go from below instead without push, meh. Then we chose to do different things at the greenhouse area I go up you stay at the middle. And near the end you keep going while I pick a new rocket launcher. Still, these show routes so you might find them useful. Remember that you would do them faster with no mistakes. http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=1033A03D2F53C7B4 Btw, the floating mines can give a huge bonus to speed if they hit you in the right way, to me its luck, but perhaps it is possible for you to manipulate that to get extra time and make something more out of going that path full of mines on level 1.
I don't have permission to view the playlist on YouTube. :(

Don't use v20 for anything but GBA, it stinks.

I guess everyone felt that way in the beginning. I know I was worried for making any mistakes when I submitted my first TAS, though it did turn out well. I think it really helps to have an experienced TASer to help you review your WIPs to see what you can improve. You don't have to be familiar with a game to spot everyday mistakes.

I thought it was common sense to attribute the cause of a problem to some factor only after you've successfully confirmed it. So I take it you have the addresses for subpixel coordinates and/or speed then, which let you know it actually was subpixels, and not something else, that made you lose frames? I'm fine with being proven wrong.
So you're right until proven otherwise?

There are no subpixels in Oracle of Ages, though.
There aren't? How else you would you explain loosing frames over dezbeast's WIP (OoS now) while taking the exact same path? Or failing the pitwalk when actually copying his input?

Though I voted for Mukki, I don't understand the problem with SM64; yeah, it's been done plenty of times and is probably the most popular N64 TAS, but why does that have to make it a reason not to vote for a TAS/TASer? Because they weren't being original in choosing a game? It's a great game to TAS, and every TAS of it brings about new improvements. What's the big deal? Just asking.
That they didn't vary themselves, they did two or more runs of the same game. Mukki did not.

Here's how I find speed addresses: 1. Search for "value equal to 0" when you're standing still. 2. Start moving to the right, and search for "value greater than previous value" when you're still having your horizontal momentum. 3. Stop moving, and search for "value equal to 0" again. 4. Jump straight up in the air, without any horizontal movement, and search for "value equal to 0" again. (this is because often, memory addresses hold information regarding both your horizontal and vertical speed. You want to rule those out. 5. Repeat step 2. 6. If necessary, repeat step 2-3 a few times. That should do the trick. :)
But if this happen: What I have to do ?
It means there are too many results to display at that time. They have been found, they are just not displayed. Keep doing the following steps as Randil described and they will eventually show up.

Most of you have at one time been thinking "I give up on this shit" and you find a new project. As the topic states, what is your hardest or most irritating part of TASing? For me I'd say luck manipulation, especially for the Zelda Oracle series.

This was definitely the toughest one, but I ended up voting Baxter. His runs were the most memorable ones, including the quad-run, Legend of Zelda and Arakanoid. Not to mention him being the Tetris-God of TASvideos.

I can only agree with Comicalflop, Mukki didn't "limit" himself to one game (AKA did neither) and he spent so much time on the MM run, which, as said, is a desync nightmare. Quite an effort if you ask me, so Mukki it is.

While 0-star was a huge effort, I did enjoy the 120-star run the most for the variety which is unmatched in any run on the site.

While I take recognition of the huge improvement, the run didn't entertain me. Mainly becuase the character moved WAY too slow, contant backflipping became tedious to see. Good effort though.

Starting from the same position after getting stars, just exiting the door from the Jolly Roger Bay and wall jumping upto the peach door, opening door and running and jumping into the window made me approx 3 seconds faster than the BLJ way. Why did the player BLJ?
1. The JRB entrance had been BLJed into. 2. The PSS door isn't open yet, so you have to account for the star opening animation.
