Just curious, the download page mentions 1.14 has memory viewer, but I didn't see that in any of the menus... is there something I'm missing?
Awesome work pcc by the way ;)

This is probably not the place to request it, but from searching "microstorage" by "dehacked" it seems to be the most appropriate thread.
Oh Great DeHackEd... is it within your power to enable Microstorage to allow ".mmv" files, that we humble SMS runners without a place of our own might share our pithy "WIP's"?
Most appreciative,
Alden

For any movie that obsoletes another movie, look at (length of current movie in frames)/(length of movie it obsoletes in frames)... larger values imply the movie was obsoleted by a small margin, and smaller values imply the movie was obsoleted by a large margin.
but i vote meh, we're not a bunch of frame counters here right? ;)

Longer, but better in my humble opinion ... liked seeing the other strange bonuses in the racing events. As noted before, archery was boring and i fastforwarded. I liked this better than the previous movies and adelikat's.

In that case I feel both movies should be available through the main site. The nicely done one would be in the "good" section and the new shorter one would be in the technical section until it is obsoleted (maybe with disclaimers... though I still think that most casual viewers would not consider the faster one that poorly played)

I think the site would benefit from having a "technical" section as well, perhaps including only emulator movies and not avi's in some cases. Searching through the Gruefood I've found a few enjoyable movies (to me) that were deemed too boring (ok, they kind of are) but people who have played the game would like seeing. Off the top of my head, Golgo 13, Yo! Noid, Princess Tomato... again, not the most exciting movies (not even close really) but all fairly optimized and in my opinion should be easier to find by browsing through the site.

Definitely a large technical improvement over the original movie. Two players seem to do the bosses much faster.
The previous movie avoided shooting as much as possible which I thought was kind of amusing, but I liked this movie as well.

I always wondered why smileys always go :) and not (:
with the asymmetry of some characters, you could make amazing new emotions! or not.
i guess it's because we read left to right and top to bottom, so it's easier to transform left into top. do smileys go the opposite way in, say, hebrew?

In arkanoid the ball can move faster than the paddle, so the "stay under" technique doesn't work for very long.
You can find the position, vertical and horizontal speed, and direction in ram, but that's still not enough to always predict where the ball will end up because there are enemies that appear in a much more "random" way (though technically you could probably decompile the code and figure that out too)
But even then, that's just a bot to *survive* arkanoid...
true, but yeah, like qFox says, it would still be quite complex. it would be interesting to look at the best way to eliminate enough possibilities to make it speedrun even one level in a reasonable amount of time.

Dear Fabian,
Simon or Garfunkel?
John or Paul or George or Ringo?
Rocket Man or Lion King?
Speedrun or Superplay?
Do you miss the attention?
I'm sorry I don't have a juicy relationship problem for you. Have you considered becoming a syndicated columnist? Seriously.
Your biggest fan,

Dear Fabian,
First, let me say that you are quite an eloquent speaker, probably moreso in your native Swedish, but quite amazingly so in English.
I daresay I always thought you were from England or the "USA" from the way your wrote, but maybe that was just my horrible prejudice.
So my question today is:
What do we do now?
There are quite a few really smart people in the world (and lots of them on this site)... do these smart people owe it to the rest of the world to try and fix things for everyone?
Or maybe we can sit around and TAS...?
Humbly yours,
Alden in Paradise
