It might not save time, but keep in mind that it's a TAS. If you can show off a trick and it doesn't waste time to do so, you should show it off. That's a classic philosophy of TASing.

Cool stuff! As someone who despises stealth, it is always enjoyable for me to see a TAS doing such parts so quickly and efficient.

You know, the fact that this TAS is not trying to break the boundary between the game and the viewer by interacting with the real world in some way, that was the reason why I liked it so much! I obviously found it very spectacular when that GDQ TAS from a few years ago displayed the Twitch chat, but that concept isn't the only direction an ACE TAS should aim for. While those meta-TASes get old after a while, I can always be excited about a "regular" ACE TAS like this one: A TAS that achieves total control and puts on screen whatever it wants. Those type of TASes are never "obsolete" or anything like that, as long as people are creative.

Best ACE TAS of this game so far, this is what I want to see in a TAS like this! Yes vote!

Pretty enjoyable TAS. It's simple, but fast paced enough to not get boring. And of course, the great music also helps! That's a yes from me.

Because the guys from the regular leaderboard were either too lazy to just add another subcategory for it, or had some dumb reason why iQue shouldn't be included, despite it being an official release.

Thank you for your detailed answer, Bismuth! I believe under those circumstances, a NG+ of this game should be compatible with this sites rules, as long as a verification movie is provided.

One of my most anticipated TASes is finally here and it did not disappoint. Obvious yes vote! As for the decision to start from a fresh cart, I'm fine with it. I just have a question for the DK64 guys here: Is the RTA route that uses dirty SRAM solely based on using intended unlockable features, that - in typical Rare-fashion - stay on the cart forever? To make it a bit more clear what I'm talking about: Is it like using TT in Diddy Kong Racing, where you're using an unlockable character that stays on the cart forever, even if you delete all files? Or is it like FFM in Banjo-Kazooie, where you rely on information from a pre-existing savefile? I'm asking because I only consider the first case to be a legit NG+.

I hate it so much when stuff is in any way restricted to online and therefore inevitably lost to history at some point. That concept is such a terrible thing, I really wish that TASVideos would be willing to bend the rules for such cases.

In the any% TAS, the pause glitch was definitely hurting the entertainment value for me, even though I liked the TAS itself. I obviously want to see an All Cards TAS, but it still makes me sad that it will inevitably suffer from bad emulation.

I feel like the TAS Block is running into the same trap as AGDQ itself (and our entire economy for that matter, but I digress...), the idea of wanting to grow exponentially each time. While such a mindset can lead to creativity, there is also a point where it will start working against you and become a limitation. Old consoles have limitations, there's only so much you can do with clever geek-tricks. Now it would be the time to remember what TASing is all about and how the different aspects of it can be presented in the most interesting way. ACE is only one part of it, not the highlight that should overshadow everything else. Show a TAS that takes the concept of luck-manipulation to its extreme, a TAS that highlights insane movement speed, there's so many things to choose from! Just try to make the most entertaining TAS Block you can and don't limit yourself by trying to grow every year.

You have to find a balance between wanting an optimal TAS... and your sanity. Getting burned out from TASing and giving up, is ultimately worse than finishing a TAS knowing there's still a few suboptimal parts left. Also, if you ever TAS for anything else than fun, it's time to stop.

The highest priority should still be that pause lag...

It might be a better idea to go for Turok 1 instead for your first 3D TAS. That game is significantly shorter, has much more of a community and also a published TAS to compare yourself to.

Majoras Mask has a skip that requires pause buffering, although it wasn't known when the published TAS was made. If such a tag is created, it should only be used for examples like that and not just regular pausing to access a menu or something. But what would be the point of such a tag? I fail to see what makes the use of the pause button for a glitch so special that it needs a tag. It's not even something controversial like ACE.

How about [3264] N64 Super Mario 64 "1 key" by Tyler Kehne, mkdasher, sonicpacker, snark, SilentSlayers, ToT, Plush, Gaehne D, Eru & sm64expert in 04:21.30 ? Not every TAS goes so fast they enter parallel universes.
As usual, I'm against giving the Speedy TAS award to an SM64 movie. In my opinion, the award should be all about the visually fastest movement. PUs may cause some numbers to go through the roof, but from a purely visual perspective, it's not much different from the usual SM64 movement with BLJs and such. And besides, the PU movement only makes up for a fraction of the movie, as opposed to a TAS that is super fast all the time.

There's a difference between publishers here, you don't have to be like this. You can instead be like Bethesda or Rockstar and actively encourage modding. Or like Sega, making games together with the very same people Nintendo constantly fights.

I nominate RobynS, she was very productive across the 2D platforms, squeezing out frames wherever she could. Even if a game is guaranteed to go to the vault, RobynS will optimize it to death.

Those people you describe, I see them as nothing more than the typical "loud minority" you always have. I can ignore them and still consider myself, for example, a socialist or feminist, I don't care about the few idiots that also happen to use those terms for their terrible ideology. I wish conservatives could do the same thing, ignore Trump and all the alt-righters / right-wing populists and just stay true to their original beliefs, instead of trying to mimic the "loud minority". Because that never works.

Cheating runners, you are so lame, using hacks to skip my game! I can easily do that and I'm an old witch, so show us some skill and don't use a glitch!
