If I had to guess, I'd say that this small clip probably isn't fixed, but that would have to be tested.
There is enough evidence already. I was tapping the jump button all the time in this section. He jumped and clipped through the wall, while I kept jumping (swimming upwards, you can hear the sound of Mario's head bumping onto the ceiling) and did not clip through the wall, which means this glitch is fixed in 1.1.
Fair enough.

I looked at the thread for this game and found that there is a glitch in 4-A that wasn't used in this run. Link to video I can't say if there are other possible improvements, as I'm not familiar with this hack.

I guess this is as optimized as it can be, so put it in the deepest depths of the vault. In terms of entertainment, we're talking about Carmen Sandiego-territory. Ok fine, I admit, the music was nice, but it can only be heard for a very short time. That's a no vote from me.

Let me give some feedback as someone who isn't much into fighting games and has never seen this game before. I really liked the game itself. It's visually appealing and it has a nice selection of characters and moves. At the same time, I couldn't really appreciate most of the tricks that the TAS shows off. For some reason, this game is not that well suited to show off tricks to a viewer that is unfamiliar with the game or even fighting games in general. I have no doubt that the gameplay has the same quality as your published playrounds, Dark Noob, but this one just didn't entertain me as much as a casual viewer. I'll give this TAS a meh vote. It didn't entertain me as much as other playarounds, but it had its moments and it's definitely a cool game.

A fast and broken racing game, one of my favorite types of runs! The laws of physics do not seem to exist in the world of F-Zero, going fast is all that counts. I hope that you continue TASing the other cups as well, so that we can one day have all of them combined into an "all cups" TAS!

I remember when the AVGN played this game and he got so angry, how in all those crappy Wolverine games, the developers where obsessed in limiting the use of the claws. Like, wouldn't that be the whole point of a Wolverine game, running around and slashing stuff with your claws? As for the TAS, it's definitely one of those cases where I enjoy seeing perfect gameplay in a bad game. It also wasn't long enough to become repetitive, so I'll give this a yes vote.

This is a TAS I've waited for so many years to see and it did not disappoint. A the same time, I still think it shouldn't be published if no one can get it to sync. I know it would be sad, but being able to sync a TAS is one of the most basic rules. Well, I guess that's what Gruefood Delight is for...

I actually use the regular Adblock (not Plus) on my main PC because it gives me more options. Would it actually be better to use Plus with Element Hiding Helper?

Thanks for all the suggestions, it will be interesting to try them all out. One thing that could make me stay with Chrome is the ScriptSafe extension, the most amazing tool I've ever found for browsing. I hope there's something comparable to that on another browser.

When I use Firefox on my laptop, it's slow to the point of being unusable. On the tower I use at work, Firefox was installed and I just went with it. The speed is ok, but it's much more unstable than Chrome. I want a browser that allows you to customize it quite a bit and has a good library of extensions (additional features, not just stuff to fix the browser). It doesn't need to win an award for being the fastest, as long as it's stable.

I've been using Chrome for a while now, I switched from Firefox after that one started to piss me off with its updates. Now in recent years, the same old story is happening with Chrome: Crappy updates get released and I'm forced to use extensions to preserve functionality. With the latest update, they managed to do something so terrible, that I almost wanted to get rid off Chrome for good, but luckily there's once again an extension to fix it. If you're wondering what I'm talking about: On the newest version, backspace to go back does no longer work, they want you to use alt+left. They did it because some idiots clicked outside a text field when working on a text and pressed backspace, therefore losing their data. Yep, good job Google, removing the most basic functionality imaginable, I'm sure that's the best solution. I especially love the approach to never give the user options! tl;dr: Are there any alternatives to Chrome? I'm sick of having to use extensions to fix bad updates! I would love to have a browser that is similar to Chrome before it started to suck.

I just skipped through this to look for some important sections. This TAS doesn't use any of the big skips used by RTA runners, the only stuff I found was the ledge drop to get to the first boss early and another small skip in Dark Ice Mines. Also, it was very obvious that during the staff-shooting sections, the author just used autofire. To get an idea how an optimized TAS would look like, I suggest watching the current RTA record: https://www.twitch.tv/jubjub62/v/78435165

It happened, the TAS I was waiting to see since I started getting into speedruns! There were so many crazy things throughout the run, I can't even decide what was my favorite. Already my TAS highlight this year (and that says something, since the Wind Waker TAS got released almost at the same time). It would be great if the TAS can be synced and the author decides to submit, it would have a great chance to become TAS of the year.

Take your time, I'm sure the TAS will be worth the wait. Even if you didn't make any progress lately, It's still good to hear that the project is still alive.

It doesn't sound nice, but why should the speedrun community care about how speedruns and TASes are perceived outside of it? All that matters is that the runs are legit by following the most basic rules, like no external modifications and not being allowed to start the timing at an arbitary point in the game. The idea that we have to justify our hobby is just another proof that GDQ is hurting the community. You can beat games in 2 seconds now? So what, just come up with a restriction to make it longer and have fun again. Yes, everything that isn't any% or a straightforward 100% is arbitrary, but again, it doesn't matter. Let the 12 year old Youtube-kids whine with their "its onlay a speedd run without glitchez, thiz takess no skil!" -comments, it won't make a difference. Whoever is interested in speedrunning or TASing will join the community anyway, just like it always worked.

Other than bouncing through the spinning buddhas on the third boss (if you can call that a glitch), I don't know of any other glitches. I did some searching but I was a bit surprised at how little (if anything) there is available on the arcade release. I'd be happy to try if someone can let me know of anything.
Thanks for explaining this, I wasn't sure from the submission text if the TAS just happened to not include any glitches or if they were deliberately avoided.

Except maybe by having an 'arbitrary code execution demonstration' style category, that doesn't have to be the fastest any%? Don't think there's precedent for it but this would be a good place to start.
But now doesn't this run fit the same reason that the Super Metroid 100% Map Completion TAS was rejected: Too many categories for a game. This seems like a new category name is being created to publish this, instead of dissecting the existing movies and seeing if there is a faster way. It is an awesome video and looks like a lot of work went into it, so that makes this decision difficult on what to do.
I don't think anyone would reject a TAS only because of the number of publications per game. New categories that aren't any% or 100% are rejected if they are not entertaining or too similar to an already published category of the same game.

I really feel like a minority for having literally zero interest in VR. It always came off to me like setting a game to full screen and adding gimmicky controls. It doesn't help that I'm a person who easily gets a headache from playing games, if something isn't set up optimally (distance to the screen, size of the screen). Also, I wear glasses, which already made me hate 3D in movies. Besides that, a new gimmick can't change the fact that most of those new, "big" games don't interest me anyway. I could write a book about why that is.

I'm so glad I had this view to a killer run. You've got a golden eye for entertainment and precise movement and some parts were so unexpected it scared the living daylights out of me. This version of Bond had a license to go fast, travelling through geometry like a spectre. All the praise in the world is not enough to show my appreciation for this run. I'd rather let the sky fall than see it rejected. You must see this TAS, folks. You only live twice after all. Yes vote. Something something Moonraker.
