Then stop insulting people while proving them wrong. People will automatically be against you if they don't like they way your saying things, even if your argument is valid, that's how things work.

After watching this, I'll go with a meh vote. It was basically an any% that has to watch more cutscenes to work around its restriction. The way it gets this done was interesting to watch, but not enough to make it stand out among other categories. If people want to TAS one of the really obscure categories (basically everything that isn't on the ZSR leaderboards), that's fine, but it should still offer enough unique content. In that regard, something like "37 water temple keys" would have been more interesting to see, out of all the arbitrary stuff. Despite that, I'm still very happy this got made. It uses Bizhawk, doesn't rely on emulator-bugs and isn't spliced. That's how this game should be TASed! It may not be optimal everywhere, but this is OoT, if you only accept perfection from a TAS, you're never going to get anything done.

Simply amazing, that's all I have to say. It's a shame that Dolpin still isn't ready for this game, because this is one of the TASes that I just have to see before I die. I can't even imagine how low the time could be pushed..

Why can't we all just work together like with the 120 star, this is so silly. Reminds me of those very old SDA days.

That's great to hear :) I asked you because there were TASes being rejected here before, because of stuff like this. I wish you good luck with the project!

Does the PAL version support 60Hz? I never owned this game, so I don't know this. Because the thing is, if this is one of the many third party games where the devs where too lazy to include 60Hz support, using it in a TAS wouldn't be legit. Only play PAL on 60Hz when the game actually supports it!

Let me think... A setting, where TASing is huge, basically like Pokémon fights in the Pokémon universe. The protagonist would be Dekutony/Kurabupengin. When he was a little boy, he was terminally ill, but his life was saved at the last moment, thanks to the medical knowledge gained from a Dr. Mario ACE TAS. No one ever found the author of it, but it soon became a legend, with countless TASers trying to reproduce this revolutionary approach, a new way of TASing that would advance science way beyond TASing. Dekutony knew, that it was his destiny to go out and become the best TASer of all time. He would find the mysterious author of the TAS that saved his life and learn about the secrets of TASing. Oh and he would of course be accompanied by a talking penguin. Other characters: - Got4n, the young TAS-prodigy. A friend of our protagonist and the nerd of the group. No matter what strange physics they throw at him, he always manages to get the best movement out of it. Even if it means that it has to be tested in real life. - Samsara, as the tsundere of the group. She makes Dekutony TAS reeeealy weird games, games that sometimes get them into lots of trouble. But they still get the WR in the end. - Spikestuff as the bully, who loves to fix the input of the heroes, always at the worst possible situations. His catchphrase is "You've been spiked!". - solarplex as the rival of the protagonist. He also wants to become the best TASer of all time and to reach this goal, he tries to apply TAS strats to real life. - Masterjun as a TASer, who one day disappeared into another dimension, leaving nothing but scrolling names and words like "game over" or "the end" behind. From time to time he is seen again, making a game community cry by messing up their categories. - adelikat as a controversial TASer that always comes up with new ideas that challenge the conventional methods of TASing. Some see him as a cheater, others as the "TASer to save TASing". He became famous, after his Cheetahmen II TAS that uses uninitialized RAM inspired people to make the current Ocarina of Time TAS in 3 seconds. - The Mupen-TASers as a religious cult that still use an ancient emulator, decades after the first release of the cycle-accurate Next-CEN64 emulator. They believe that Mupen is the only emulator that can be used to turn TASing into a source of infinite energy, something that scientists still believe to be physically impossible. The "mupenists" try to convert the heroes of the story to their religion. - Nach as a super villain that uses TASing for his goal to rule the world. By creating the ultimate TAS AI, he wants to optimize every TAS to the frame. When every TAS would be impossible to improve, this would make him the only TASer, the TASer to rule everything.

Hallo allerseits!

Also, since this GDQ (non-)monetized non-official/non-author uploads videos of the event are forbidden (doesn't say in what way you can remix videos/provide highlight reels/etc): https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/regarding_future_video_uploads.html Rather draconian if you ask me. I get the feeling that since GDQs have become so large ("our brand"), they want to behave more like a company without any clear way in how to go about that (e.g. publish clear licensing terms)... P.S.: I noticed because of the announcement here: "BAD NEWS! Recently the policy of the GDQ uploads..." -- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOWDU-iokgQTudah5-4kAIQ (don't know how to permalink that)
This is just one of the many reasons why I started disliking the GDQ events. They're not the speedrun community organizing an event to have fun, they're a company that uses speedruns to make money. Just read their announcement about the new policy for YT uploads. They talk about their "brand". Whenever people talk like this, you know that they're all about money. Regarding the runner that got kicked out: I don't know if GDQ has anything to do with the shutdown of his twitch channel, but if they actually do, that would be one of their shadiest moves so far. They're free to kick people from their events, but not to punish them on external websites, that's just unacceptable. The fact that the entire structure of GDQ is very nontransparent makes it even harder for me to like them.

I agree that Majoras Mask deserves the star more than Ocarina of Time. For OoT to earn its own star, I would want to see a an "all dungeons" or 100% published here.

There's still no reason to not publish the file. This just automatically looks suspicious to people.

Yes, emulator-only.
Wasn't that glitch fixed in the newer versions of Dolphin?

I think those settings to make Doom "harder than hard" are comparable to LTK/Dark LTK in Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. It would probably be yet another category.

Bowser has the same amount of text in 0 and 70 star, it's only different if you collect all stars.

That's just a physical impossibility. You can't coordinate millions of people from all around the world like this. It's just not possible. (And who exactly would be doing the controlling anyway? And how would they expect to succeed?)
That's one of the things about conspiracy theories that I have the most problems with. They always expect you to believe, that a specific group of people can organize themselves worldwide, control everything, hide everything and on top of that, doing this thing for decades, if not centuries. I just don't buy that, people don't work like this, you can't organize stuff this flawless on such a scale. People make mistakes, they don't trust each other, and so on. But conspiracy theories - much like communism - expect people to be perfect.

People like nfq may tell you crazy stuff, but one thing about it is actually really predictable: Any affiliation to a government = Evil and hiding the truth. But anything that is said by an individual or organization that has nothing to do with a government, is always legit, no matter what crazy things they tell you. Come on, couldn't you guys at least try to be a bit more creative? Why always the government, couldn't private corporations be the evil guys for once? Or the religious organizations? There's plenty of other villains to choose from!

This is something about this forum that I will never understand, what's the problem with this question: "Did you find this movie entertaining?" It's so simple to anyone that can read. So people either deliberately ignore the question because they oppose something about the system, or they don't read the question at all and just assume it means "should this movie be published?".

How can I not vote yes to ninjas? Also, it's interesting how complex this game turned out to be for TASing.
