I've been wanting to answer mr_robert_z's question about equal temperament forever. Can I answer it here even though it wasn't asked here?

I checked, and it's still two revolutions. I think the difference is where I started on the wheel. I tried throwing stars at that enemy. It didn't work. The problem is Aero is traveling faster than the star at that point.

Hey, it's been a while. I'm going to be moving at a snail's pace through this production. Theere are certain things that are taking up a lot of my time right now, but here's level 2 http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1262873881/Aero%20the%20Acro-Bat%202%20%28U%29%20%5B%21%5D.gmv Every improvement I tried didn't work for one reason or another. I'm not completely satisfied, but this might be the fastest it can go.

Dear Bisqwit, I am not a programmer and only have a basic understanding of binary and hexidecimal, but I notice that 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, and 256 all are very popular numbers. However, 1024 is the next number that seems to be important. Why doesn't 512 get the same amount of attention as the others?

Can you tell the bot to try another ROM if he uses the wrong one?

I'm considering it, but it's really late in the game before you can get the sword, so I'm not sure if the power boost is worth it. The only place it will make a difference is boss battles.

Hey, I'm thinking about picking this game up. So far I haven't found any sequence breaks or glitches. If you know of any, that would be nice. Currently in the planning stages, but I do have a short WIP http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/531195122/CrusaderofCenty.gmv Make sure you clear your SRAM if you have any or else it won't play. Possible improvements: I pick up 21 malins in the obstacle course instead of 20. A different path might work better. I might be able to end the boss fight closer to the door, though it might have the battle end later, so I don't know how much time it would save.

It looks like you're right about the acceleration. However, everytime I jump in level 1 I'm at maximum speed already, so it looks like the first level is optimized except for that ladder dismount. Alright, how does that glitch work. I've been able to repeat it, but I don't know exactly what I'm doing.

The game is worth submitting, I think, but if you know how to fix those mistakes, I think you should.

Jumping does not effect velocity. The side of the bed does not slow you down at all. If you watch my input during the time on the ladder, you'll notice that I don't even hit the up button. In other words, you're forced to use a ladder when you have a ladder. Try jumping off the bells yourself for the answer to the third question. I jump on the first frame possible for going in the door. The door doesn't pull you in until fully formed. By the way http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1307428439/AerotheAcrobat2.gmv There are some problems here. Mostly because enemies got in the way. Ideas are welcome

How does manipulating that acceleration work, exactly?

Since Random Pie is doing the first one (at least I think he's still working on it), and doing a good job so far, I've decided to tackle the sequel. This version is a lot more straight-forward than the first, but the character still moves pretty fast at maximum speed. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1357248248/Aero the Acrobat 2.gmv Here's the first level. Let me know what you think.

Well, I'm relatively new here. When I first came to the site, I knew nothing about TASing, but I knew what runs I liked. Here goes. My idea for starred movies is to provide viewers with an idea of what the site has to offer while not overwhelming them. So the idea is to provide variety in a concise list. Here's my suggestion: Pick two games from both the Sonic, Megaman, and Mario series. My suggestion would be Sonic 1 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles; Mario 64/Super Mario World; and Super Mario Bros. 3, and either one NES one SNES Megaman run or two from NES. Pick one each from Zelda, Metroid, and Castlevania. One of the Super Metroid runs would be great. Castlevania's run right now is amazing. As for Zelda, I'm not sure Add to those: Two games that are so glitched to the extreme Zelda II glitch run and Excitebike for instance or maybe a GBA glitch run from the Castlevania series. Two games that are very stylized: Battletoads 2 - player and Gradius, e.g., or maybe Gunstar Heroes? (it would be nice) Two games that show amazing amounts of skill/luck or where the character moves very quickly and accurately. Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Bomberman 2, Arkanoid, whatever else. I'm having trouble with this one. Add to that one or two wild card runs, preferably not from the series mentioned earlier, and you have your list. Maybe Lost Vikings, or a grappling game. You can argue about my choices of runs as well as the overall schema. That's fewer games than are up right now, and it's more balanced between familiar series and other games outside those series. As for RPG runs: the problem with those is you need a knowledge of the game before you notice what's happening. Memories of the game are what makes the run amazing, not watching the battles, so I'm not sure there will be an RPG run that will appeal to a new user. (When I first saw the Chrono Trigger run, as well as all the Dragon Warriors, I said "so?")

I thought the movie was suppposed to end on the last input needed to finish the game. If the game ends without any more input, then it's fine.

I knew this submission was borderline when I submitted it. I made this run because I wanted to make the run. I liked this game and felt there were enough good points to make the run interesting, and pulled everything out of it that I could.

Man, I was going to do this. I say go for it. It looks pretty good so far. I think in the first two cannon shots, you might have gone too high. Is it possible to shoot yourself up sooner like you did for the last one? Also, for entertainment, why don't you pretend like you're playing the guitar at the beginning with input? I don't really think you need to get all the food, though.

Actually, having two guns out there does not make it faster. The reason is in two players, a gun will only attack every other frame, while in one player, they attack every frame. The result is if your hitting a boss with both guns at once, it will be just as fast as hitting the boss with one gun in one player mode. Throwing is faster than everything else, though.

adaptive pitch, when I really concentrated and abused the replay button: 0.525 I also had to sing a few pitches back just to be sure. I got tonedeaf at 94% rhythm was in the 80's. I forget. Plus on the first few questions, I wasn't sure what to listen for. I am a music major, though. And now my head hurts

I usually prefer playing with Sammy (or Skate) when I play that game, just because he can cause so much havoc that the other characters can't. I do think that the run should be 2-player, though.

I need help. I have the latest version of VBA from nitsuja- # 20 but every GB, GBC, and SGB movie on the site desyncs when I try to play it, usually at the menu. GBA games seem to be fine, though. I can't find anything about it in these forums. Has anyone had these problems?

Really, the game takes over at that point. They start walking over when they're near the left side no matter where they started.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/134712967/arkiandruski-gunstar-wip.gmv Smash is possibly the only boss for whom it matters where the fight stops.
