Watched the avi, and I was less than impressed. The glitches in this run aren't really the kind of glitches I like. It seems that most of the run was spent running off the road (I have the same issue with Sonic 2 Oil Zone). Aside from that, it really didn't have the action that I was expecting. That boardwalk course was my favorite of the bunch. I want more of that, and getting hit so that you end up skipping most of the track was fun to see, but for the run as a whole, I'll have to vote "meh". By the way is the sound in the video staticy for anyone else?

That glitch from the dice maze just got more interesting http://sfkosmo.classicgaming.gamespy.com/treasure/games/gunstarheroes/trivia.html according to this, if you use it to fight Curry and Rice, he'll die after one bullet. Now that's a short fight. I think I'm going to test Black's stage for the glitches next

That's what I meant. He asked if the movie was faster, so I decided to list all the differences in damage and such between this and the published run.

It's still a long way away. Someone's working on it, but last we've heard, they've run into some difficulties.

The bosses have the same amount of HP, but the weapons are less effective. Going through frame-by-frame on Jackic's run, his weapon does six damage every frame, compared to my four, so this is slower than Jackic's run, and is now behind as well. Also, I had to fight all seven forces, while Jackic fought five (he didn't do crab or urchin force in his run). The game adjusts for two players by having each weapon only cause damage every other frame (which is kind of stupid in my opinion).

Yes. There were some fun elements to this run, and it wasn't long enough to bore me.

Can I make suggestions, then? Adventures of Batman and Robin (it's a pretty straightforward game, but it's colorful) Aero the Acrobat Alicia Dragoon Beyond Oasis or Crusader of Centy possibly? Gain Ground (though I'm not sure it should be done on hard) Dynamite Headdy's being worked on right now, and it looks like it will be an awesome and easily accepted run. I would have liked to do a run or Puyo Puyo, but that's too close to that Kirby game with falling Puyos Pagemaster was one that I was looking at, but I don't think it should be bolded. Forgotten Worlds is an autoscroller

It looks good to me. Can we rig some kind of voting system to the list so people using it know what users want to see TASed? Also, I think we should also mark movies with rejected submissions.

I'm not sure. I like the idea of having a default ROM for when there are no differences between the games. Of course, if you want to use a different version and you're the first runner, I guess it's fine, but it should be for a reason, which can be: different graphics different music different gameplay censorship Others? However, if you use a ROM for that reason, it should be something that actually shows up in a TAS. For example, if there's a secret room way out of the way in one version of the game, the TAS is never going to visit that room, so that would make it pretty pointless.

The way the game works: Each gunner damages the boss every other frame, and they switch frames (not counting lag frames). Sometimes the game didn't register damage even though a weapon was hitting it. Usually it's just for one frame. I'm not sure what causes it. Both gunners firing at the same time cuases lag. I tested most of these bosses with two chasers, and they cause about as much lag as the other combination. Tails force just lags really bad. However, it will lag with just one gunner firing, too. When I use the fire-chaser, it's because moving the fixed gunner around while also concentrating on staying close enough to the boss and always pointing the gun toward him is impractical. I could use two chasers on crab force. However, that fight would just consist of both gunners hovering in front of the boss. I think my way looks better/has more movement/is more entertaining. Anyway, unless lag happens more than every other frame, both gunners is the better option. It's still a pain, though.

Well, after a long marathon session spread out over four days, I have my first run through seven force. I'm going to take a short break to work on school work and such and to see your comments about my chosen strategies and how I can squeeze more frames out of it. wip

"The Humans" a published run? You're pretty confident on that one, aren't you?

Can you update the file? The link you provided doesn't work anymore.

Both, but I think the wiki should take priority.

"eno" would work. "Noe" can't be differentiated from "no", I think. Not that it mattters because most of the time I want peopl to get the joke in the question.

Here's one: when the play gets a new ability, make it universal rather than an ability that can only be used in specific areas designated by the programmer.

Well, it was good, but it was long, and I'm sure if the run is good enough for the length of the game, so I'm going to abstain from voting.

The fake answer I usually use is "neo" because I can actually say that out loud.

I think "dyslexics untie" is a better variation on that. Shorter, so it has more punch. It's almost like one of my favorite jokes. How many dyslexics does it change to take a lightbulb?

I agree this would be a good game. It started getting interesting around the third level, I think. However, I don't know the game or TASing well enough to help you, but keep going.

Hey, you know those three train cars with the enemies in them that you have to destroy to advance? Anyways, I'm trying to get the third one in one pass, which would take quite a bit of time off the level. I have a suspicion it might be just barely possible. I'm not having any luck, though. This is the best I've gotten it. Is there anything I'm missing? Is it possible to kill those two the few frames faster you need to prevent the train from going to the right? I've run out of ideas.

Speaking of which, have you seen Boco's stats? How do you get stats like that?

It was interesting enough, and it was an improvement, so yes.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4916/arkiandruski-gunstar-lvl2-wip.gmv I'm just going to say right now I hate Green's level. I posting a WIP, but really eveything after the second weapon switch is going to be redone. I thought it was weird that bosses only take damage every other frame. I also thought it was strange that my boss fights were going slower than Mike's speedrun even though I was basically attacking the bosses non-stop with a high powered weapon. It turns out that each player damages enemies every other frame and the registered damage alternates. I bet you if this were a one player game, the damage would happen every frame. Anyway, that means attacking the boss with both players will be twice as fast, considering, I can't throw in this level nor hit the boss with any body attacks. This of course changes my strategy a bit. Let's see: Weapons I know cause 4 damage every other frame: force + force fire + chaser fire + lightning chaser I actually have a few viable options for player 1's weapon. I can keep the force + force. It's a strong fast weapon, good for taking out multiple opponents, but can't be used at the same time as fire + chaser because of the lag. (actually fire+chaser sometimes causes lag all by itself) However, it can be used to dot i's when I'm writing, although it goes by so fast you barely see it. I can switch for lightning + chaser. The manipulation to get a chaser out of the bird isn't that hard. i know how to do it. Lightning +chaser is a new weapon, and gives me a lot of options to switch to another new weapon in the next stage (double lightning, star chaser, force chaser, and lighning chaser are the only weapons I haven't used yet). If I use this, though, both gunners will be using chaser for most of the boss fight. (Might not be that bad. Chaser doesn't require that much processing power, so lag will be less of a problem) I can also get force + chaser. This will allow me to dot my i's still (although it will still probably go by too fast) lag might be a problem with this one, but for the bosses, I'll be using the chaser part anyway because force + chaser has pretty much no strength. Either way, it's still going to be another long hard trek through the last part of the level.
