Thanks! In regards to the impossible turns, Derakon described the situation perfectly:

The turn is impossible because you input "L" to head left, the character travels 12 spaces, and you overshoot your turn opportunity before you get the next chance to provide input.
I don't know what specifically makes the game trial-and-error, though.
Kudos, Derakon! Whenever I ran into an impossible corner, I had to replan my route to go around it from a different direction.
As for the trial-and-error, I've added an example of what it takes to TAS one frame in the submission description. Not all frames were that complex. A fair number of frames were more complex.
Unfortunately, it's not as straight-forward as each hero having a predefined speed, as turns and stopping while the other player's input gets buffered, affects the speed dramatically. I do my best to avoid the latter situation, but you can only do so much at this speed.

I think I made a mistake submitting a save state jrsr instead of the movie file. How do I update the movie file submitted? Or should I just cancel this and resubmit?

In my last post I was joking. But in all seriousness, the Stage Comparison (Ghosts) encode was way more entertaining than the straight optimized run. There ought to be a way that one can be hosted here on TASvideos, perhaps as a playaround or citing entertainment / speed tradeoffs or something. Also, the comparison run would be one that everyone would then get their names on.
I hope it can be done.

Sorry, but this run was boring as hell compared to the awesomely amazing Stage comparison encode!! Seriously, I found myself rooting for the various heroes, just like at a horse race. The only thing missing is the announcer over the loudspeaker. Great work everyone. Super yes vote!!;)
Yep, that's what I think.

Someone asked me in a PM why I'm not submitting these TASes to TASvideos.
That was me. :)
First, I have to say that Lex's TAS of WA is awesome! If you haven't seen it, see it!
Second, though I understand the reservations, I still think this has a place on TASVideos. TASVideos is a site to showcase quality tool-assisted speedruns. Though some may view this site as a place to compete, I see it as a place for quality art, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. So even if people are restricted from using certain tools, I still think the art belongs here.
That's my $0.02 worth.

I thought it was short enough to be entertaining. It helps that I could read the Japanese. Non-Japanese speakers may not get as much out of it. Definite yes from me, though I could see this making its way to the vault.
From that second video, it looks like it's not random chance, but some move you can perform to bop falling objects with your head to prevent them from knocking you off the building. I wonder how that would factor into the TAS...

Like I said, it's no different than the blackjack analogy. The chances of getting blackjack are 1/21. So, if I play a game that revolves around it, get it in my first draw, and thus win the game, does that mean I just did a TAS simply because I quickly skipped through the menus?
What it sounds like you're talking about is manipulating luck to get that 1 in 21. If so, then yes, it does, IMHO. The Clue TAS is very similar to this one, and it got accepted.

Speaking out of turn, but when you do that, you can expect the computer to take a very, very, very long time to make moves. It's downright obnoxious. Still, if it is possible to trick the computer into the same stupid moves that might be interesting (it'd just be a very boring movie).
Okay, that's enough for me to remove my reservation. Yes vote!

I fully agree with dwangoAC, that we shouldn't discriminate simply based on genre. We have prime examples of board games TASes that have been accepted in Clue and Monopoly. Both required some luck manipulation (Monopoly had lots, Clue, not so much), but aside from that, not much else. Still, I found them very entertaining.
I like this type of run. It's short, thoroughly trounces the AI, and I see nothing sloppy or unoptimized about it. The only thing that's keeping me from voting 'Yes' is that it seems it was done on the easiest level of difficulty. Jigwally, can you explain why you didn't choose Level 4? What's the fastest you could do this on that level?

I have to vote on the side on Entertainment. I like this one better.
One thing to consider in this whole argument: What would the argument be if the submissions were done in reverse? What if the shorter movie with the longer input was submitted and accepted first, and then the slightly shorter input version that took three extra minutes to complete was submitted next?
Are we comfortable saying that you can obsolete any TAS on this site by ending input a bit earlier, even if it adds hours (or theoretically, days) to the TAS itself?

Great fun to watch. I loved the bouncing off rocks, the variety (going in a bunker, once on the green), and of course the cheesy Engrish.
Yes vote! (For moons, of course)

No, because it doesn't sync for anyone else (and not even for Bisqwit nowadays).
Thanks. That's too bad. I was thinking a SC2 run would be great to have in the collection, and then I found that one. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone is going to make another one, as it's certainly headed to the vault if they did.

Yes vote! The battles were so short (as too for the run itself) that it never got dry or boring. The double KO was a great surprise and changed things up well.
