The help provided with it is quite good, actually (Buildhlp.exe, wasn't it?), and there's a couple of maps that show you how the important things (doors) are supposed to work. - and you select objects/walltextures/etc. from the entire set of sprites/textures. The default texture is a butt-ugly brick wall which shouldn't be anywhere in-game. There's an unused door-type or two, if I remember right. I don't think there were any actual unused enemies or items. Dang, so long ago...but yeah, it's pretty simple to access the texture listings (displayed as a thumbgrid many, many pages long- you get ALL the animation frames, in all angles) from the editor.

It looks like they didn't actually change how it worked...just, y'know, umptillion more things are tied to the clock. Yes, wait three days, good sir Link, and your biggoron sword will be finished right up. ;)

I don't suppose you could try dying in the 'after-shuttle' area to get it loaded properly? [/clueless] Been a while since there was a genuine "death as shortcut" than death-warping backwards.

why is their no *sophisticated* 2nd person plural word in english?
Because the old singular "thou" got abandoned. Pretty sure that "you" was informal-singular and plural only, and thus often an insult in the wrong circumstances (like tu or du in French or German...?) but only count me as hearsay- I ha'e no verifiable source.

Looks nice. Yes 'ote. I was going to wonder whether it would be faster to do S+Q after hookshot dungeon, but I realized that you'd need to exit and Mirror to lightworld to get Old Man's place as restart, so it'd come out slower, I think. Why is the bouncer in the room after the Moldorm in Ganon's Tower continually activating?

Yes, he just needs to wait for the boat to get near enough. To throw out an option: Creaking Skull, Big Golem, Headhunter, go through Top Floor, tagging teleporter for later, to Death. Now, go right-left into Floating Gardens (and back to the Underground Reservoir) and do Balore and Legion (either way)- then, cut through Forbidden Area, do Great Armor, Manticore, and teleport back up to near Graham.

I care about the sims...

Given that without the sim segments, Actraiser is just a meh platformer, I say do the sims. They're really the most significant feature the game has.
That. It's an interesting game because it's a hybrid. Also, the lack of magic would slow the bosses down rather painfully, I.M.O.. After all, what kind of godmaster just runs around killing critters instead of nurtu-wait, don't answer that.

Preventing luck manipulation is trivial: Just have a RNG stream for some purpose (eg. deciding critical hits), which you seed at the beginning of the game (if the system doesn't have a clock which can be used to randomly seed it, then seed it from user input, eg. the first 20 key presses and their timing or whatever), and then just use that RNG stream for that purpose from that point forward.
But that makes it trivial to "manipulate"- you find actions to advance/pop numbers off the stream, why not? (Isn't that somewhat how DW3's general RNG and Chrono Trigger's critical-determining sequence work?) Of course, you could make it so each separate event type uses a different stream.. As for making something hard to TAS...fill hidden status flag bytes (Cannot Critical of FF4?) with noise off the RNG, to make memory searches harder. Link stat-ups to mileage(SFR2049), time, or similarly speed-defeating characteristics. Require playthrough save to access highest difficulty. Require unimplemented hardware as copy protection implemented in crazy diverse ways, such as an adaptor requiring an E.T. Atari cart reading quirkily-selected values and combining with the ROM's to create necessary-to-continue data. Make the proper choice unselectable until such verification occurs. Make 'perfect' play penalized. ("Don't e'en THINK of using a turbo controller. I'll know.") If you haVe cycles to spare, make the RNG sampling independently randomized. Mash in other data to make a simple test (start fight at full health, watch values and test for what happens on crit) insufficient. Fudge answers if necessary to prevent (on enemy) or promote (on player) poor outcomes, but only when it can matter. Make long invulnerability periods.

Hmm. Actually like this. Probably due to the crazy nightmares/High Max 'zerk (Not "makes a hard game look easy" exactly...But it looks like a hard game played 'easily'), and Yammar Option is neat and not a copy of various other stuff in the series. Nightmare Mother's music is cool, and the slash effects make SDC flashier than in x5. Blizzard Wolfang looks like someone dug up Slash Man and did a quick restyle. Tech 9 Ent 8.5 edit: also, Gate looks like a Bass retrofit. At least in civvies. edit 2: And High Max looks a bit like King(MM&B/RM&F).

Questions were more aimed at "odd things to test to see if Sky Rune won't be stolen" than "ways to be faster".
