Folder Options -> "View" tab -> Show Menu's. This enables all menu's without having to press Alt first. Something else I hate about Windows 7 is that when you access Control Panel from Windows Explorer it reverts Control Panels View setting to Category mode. Accessing it via every other method retains the Large Icons setting.

I'm still surprised Microsoft hasn't fixed the Windows 7 Windows Explorer bug where if you expand the contents of a folder in the left pane, the left pane will frequently scroll up moving the expanded contents of the folder you just interacted with, off the bottom edge of the Windows Explorer window and thus making you have to scroll down... That's the biggest thing that concerns me but I also noticed the following problems with it: 1) Navigating the left pane via keyboard doesn't refresh the right pane automatically, you must press Enter before the right pane updates to reflect the newly chosen directory. 2) The > symbols to the left of folders on the left pane which you click to expand/collapse folders fade out and there's no way in Windows to make them static/always present. 3) Status Bar is sometimes blank when opening a new session of Windows Explorer. 4) Status Bar shows less info then under Windows XP and older. (Like size of selected files, total size of all files if no files are selected etc.) 5) Windows Explorer's new Move, Copy and Delete dialogs don't show all details by default. 6) New file/folder conflict dialog box (When copying a file to a folder that contains a file of the same name for instance) is unhelpful. 7) Windows 7 makes it extremely difficult to have all folders of all types look exactly the same as each other. In XP you configure one folder how you want it to look, click Tools then Folder Options, click View tab then finally the Apply to All Folders button. In Windows 7 this only applies to the currently selected folder "Type" and there are numerous folder types in Windows 7. 8) Windows 7 can become resistant to changing folder views requiring you to go into the registry and delete some Keys then restart Windows Explorer. All of these problems aren't present in XP but ClassicShell and Classic Explorer can fix them all (Except 7 and 8) completely under Windows 7.

How was the Youtube video encoded? I downloaded the 4K file (I assume that's the "Original" quality version, 676MB) and it doesn't play in anything but DivX o_O

Because if you use a fullscreen but not with max resolution then everything will look goofy, try 640x480 fullscreen on a 16:9 screen thats suppose to run 1920x1080, it has nothing to do with physics, it will just look bad, stretched, and ugly.
You're comparing apples with oranges. You would use a low 16:9 resolution if you have a 16:9 monitor and the game supports 16:9, obviously. Also Windowed mode would more likely result in a drop in performance in comparison to Fullscreen mode because your video card has to render the game as well as the Desktop (And Vista and Windows 7 have all them hardware accelerated effects for the Desktop when Aero is enabled). Lastly, you can configure video cards these days to upscale low resolutions instead of your monitor so you end up with somewhat decent sharp picture still and you can even tell it to upscale low resolutions using your video card while retaining aspect ratio (for those who have monitors that lack the ability to set there monitor to 4:3 mode or vice versa)

I'd rather an english translation, using the unofficial translation. Aeon Genesis is best troop for translations.

Would you take death as a shortcut like in the Speed Demos Archive run? (I'm personally indifferent to this)

the 280 and 285 series of drivers have proven problematic for several Nvidia users regardless of video card being used. Users with Geforce 500, 8000, 9000, 200 etc. cards have reported system crashes, driver resets etc. when browsing the internet as well as when gaming. I personally suffered some problems with a particular game when using the 270 drivers but not the 280 or 285 drivers (Currently using latest 285 driver without problem). My recommendation for your situation is to downgrade to the 267.24 beta driver as that has, to me, proven to be a very solid driver release. You should avoid using Windows Update to update hardware drivers and instead go to the manufacturers website. Nvidia are expected to release a new driver on the 27th with some fixes to these crashes as well as numerous game fixes for RAGE and Battlefield 3.

Yeah sorry, I noticed it a few days ago that they finally approved the new speedrun of the game :) I've yet to actually watch it too. I have no experience with TAS'ing or Speedrunning but I'm happy to review and/or look over sample/progress videos for any flaws/mistakes or wrong assumptions made. Will you use the Sub Menu glitch in the shops that allow you to buy multiple things from the store? While in a shop, open the sub menu where you see the map as well as weapon selection stuff then exit the sub menu via either holding down the select or start button (I forget which), while continuing to hold down the button, walk over the shop items and the other shop items should not vanish. Leaving the shop after purchasing something or after releasing the button should result in the shop closing/no more items to buy. Edit: So 100% will include the optional vertical corridor levels? Level 11, 12, 13, 14 etc.?

http://www.bemmu.com/music/index.html Once playback has started, no way to stop it other then to wait out the 30 seconds? The Pause button seems broken and it even continues to play over a new sound if you generate a new sound while an existing sound is playing. Only way to stop it is to reload the page. I use Firefox and also hear what sounds like the audio also overlapping itself with multiple instances. Edit: The Entropedia stuff plays fine in Firefox.

From the sounds of it it's just simple DOS commands needed to get it working. Is Hourglass based on DOSBox?

Just curious, as I'd like to be able to play Castle of the Winds without the need to setup a virtual system or a copy of Windows 9x or 3x in DOSBox.

supermariobros2j-tasv2-happylee_10bit444.mp4 right? If so then the LAV Filters work like a charm with Media Player Classic - Home Cinema x64

Hi all: I have produced an additional experimental downloadable encode. This encode was created with 10-bit x264 in the YUV444 colour space - only very recent builds of media players or codecs are going to be able to play such an encode back, but the resulting visual quality should be significantly higher for a very similar file size. I would appreciate feedback on who is able to play back this encode successfully and what people think of it relative to the encode I previously posted.
Tried it in Windows Media Player, DivX Plus Player, Winamp, Quicktime and Windows Media player Classic - Home Cinema (With recent FFDSHOW revision), all of these failed to play back with Winamp failing the hardest via outright crashing.

jlun2, I think franpa means that using the walljump glitch to get onto the ceiling is more boring than getting on the ceiling the way the stage intends. Certainly the intended route is slower, but it shows off more of the ideas behind the game.
This, and my comment about speed was referring to the other run that performs at 2x speed and in that regard I would rather this run be published and not the 2x version. I ultimately feel that the run should show off as many traps as possible, a play around if you will as raw speed as a goal just doesn't suit this game very well.

This would get a Yes vote from me if you didn't run over the top of the last level until it's required. As it is the last level is just too boring and not entertaining. I still say No to speeding up a game for the sake of speeding up the game.
