And here's me failing at Mountain of Faith (a bit dated): Link to replay So close to a 1CC... By the way, I use some bombs, especially during later stages.

All I can say is that Stages 3, 4 and 9 got destroyed. As such, very easy yes vote from me.

Having watched this run yesterday on Nicovideo (because someone on some IRC network linked to it), I have to say this run is well made. Yes vote.

Yes, indeed. At least it's not like "Jonasan! Sharotto! Jonasan! Sharotto!" repeated over and over again.

I changed the game name to the English name, since the game has an official English name (Asterix & Obelix - PAF! Them All!). Per the Publisher Guidelines, "if there is no USA version of the game, but there is an English release in another region (such as the UK), use the game name of that release." ..but overall, I found the run pretty boring to watch. Voting meh, but leaning towards No.

OK, finished watching the run. It was fairly good. I certainly did not know that you can shoot at the eggs. Yes vote. ..though, I think it'd be better to show the credits "level" (the one just before the high score entry), but that's just me.

Unless I'm missing something, why didn't you submit the 24:57 run which you uploaded to YouTube? If anyone could translate that to Russian for khv-user, that would be nice.

Super Mario Bros. 3 with warps in 19:20.61: Download link (FCEUX movie file) Emulator used: FCEUX 2.1.4a (should sync with 2.1.5) ROM used: Super Mario Bros. 3 (U) (PRG1) [!] The run starts out pretty much without deaths, until I die once in 8-1 and a whopping 4 times in 8-2, before I finish the run without more deaths.

I'd rather say it's because the encode uses duplicate frame removal, which YouTube can't handle well. Try this one instead, which doesn't use duplicate frame removal.

I guess I have to encode this run again once you've posted said input file. Oh well, doesn't matter much... I guess.

From what I can gather, the space bar doubles the frame rate (from 30 to 60). However, the space bar has to remain pressed the entire time, else the frame rate drops back to 30. Plus, it makes the game seem unnaturally fast (as in, the death sound is still playing when a level has already been reloaded, just to give an idea).

Encode is up on Mediafire. I guess I'll give this one a Yes vote as well, as it's an improvement to the cancelled run.

I don't play it often, and never played online. I have it because nostalgia (I played the demo of it back when I was on Windows 98).

This is not a desktop background you'd expect from me every day! And yes, it's still as cluttered as ever.

From Dailymotion's FAQ (in French) (note that this is a question asking why one can't select the Creative Content option on a video, but it's of relevance): "The [...] video must be shorter than 60 minutes and less than 2 GB big." As far as I know, everyone having a standard Dailymotion account can now upload 60 minute long videos now... but I don't think that someone with a standard account can upload HD videos to Dailymotion.

Are you using the correct BIOS (scph1001.bin)? If so, did you set the sound mode to "2: Synchronous (tas safe, buffering glitches)" (or "1: Dual SPU (tas safe, slight glitches [default])", except the sound quality is bleh)? Since the run synced for me (on svn662 and svn715), I can say that the run is well executed. I especially liked the fight against the third boss (the Necromancer, according to this site). Yes vote. Furthermore, I'm encoding it to SD.

http://www.thespeedgamers.com TheSpeedGamers are going to do a Retro Pokethon at 6 PM CST (7 PM EST, 12 AM UTC). They are going to attempt at catching all the Pokémon from generations I and II for the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease) (website: http://www.alsa.org/). TheSpeedGamers have been streaming video game marathons for over a year to raise money for various charities. In total they have raised over $250,000 dollars and played 21 marathons. They have raised over $57,000 in their week long Mario Marathon, and have made multiple news appearances. This upcoming marathon will be for the ALS Association, which encourages scientific research to find a cure for ALS, heightens awareness of the nature of the disease, stimulates volunteerism and activism, and increases awareness of government leaders to encourage support of research and patient care. During the marathon we will have multiple contests to win various prizes. Some are contributed by TheSpeedGamers' gracious community members. Thank you!
