It's time to move onto something new.... 1-2. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1011894511/SMB3_SMAS_100_8.1.2.smv This is about 15 frames FASTER than the first update, due to not having to slow down before the steep hill with the lone coin block.

...Wow. My calculation was WAY off. OK. Floor 1 is basically un-improvable from hanzou's run.... Then again, whenever someone says that, they're worng.... EDIT: Me thinks I've found an Eggerland game not even mention on the fourms: (and I've checked, for sure) Eggerland - Souzouhe no Tabidachi for the FDS! I'll post a test-run later. EDIT EDIT: K. Rounds 1-5 The game seems to have some levels made that re-appear in Lolo 2, so I know the startagies for some. ACKROUNDACK1ACK Yet, most are unique to this game. Seems like a cool game to do.

....and 3 years later people are still trying to make improvements. I'm not sure, but I think I found a possible improvement on 1-2 already. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1842927033/1-2Improvement.fcm

Sorry, it's just that I don't want to reconstruct, revive, whatever you call it, 2 year old topics.

Another improvement for a NES puzzle game, this time for Lolo 2. I used to play this game, like, 4 years ago and now I can remember alot of glitches that happened in that time. With that said, I have a vid ready upon 1st post. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1890823253/girfanatic501_lolo2.fcm The 1st floor really dosen't need much re-records, excert for getting hit by Medusas (seriously, I'm dumb enough to walk right in front of 2 MEDUSAS) and stopped by Rockies. Plus the occasional missing a turn.

Hmm.. That does seem to help improve alot.... Thanks! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/245104600/girfanatic501-boulderdashwip1.fcm Wow, it does save time.

Ow.... Yeah, I'll probably work on Boulder Dash, as it's a fun (yet frustrating) game to play. I'll post a WIP of something later. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/371680995/girfanatic501-boulderdashwip1.fcm Just a practice run for the first level.

Boulder Dash is a possibility. I tried the original Bomberman on NES and could not find a way to defeat all the enimies to open the door. On to Boulder Dash! EDIT: Okay, Boulder Dash is good. Another possible game could be the Japan-only Wrecking Crew '98 for the SNES.

I was just messing around yesterday with random NES games and came across a ROM of Clu Clu Land just sitting in nowhere. So, I said, "What the heck, let's try it!" So, upon the first level I've found some cool tips and tricks. -Let's say your rounding a corner. You let go of the peg. 1 frame after you let go, hold down a differnet button, and you'll round a corner right next to you. Using this trick (which is very difficult even in slowdown) if you keep tapping that same button, it will allow you to become invincible. So, I was just wondering if the game would be too boring to watch, or if it could possibly work? I need opinions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clu_Clu_Land =================================================== [EDIT by Bisqwit: You have apparently changed the thread starting post completely after discussion was already spawned from it. Do not do that. It creates confusion. Your topic is titled "Boulder Dash - Improvement", yet the thread talks about "Clu Clu Land". Furthermore, talk about Clu Clu Land should be conducted in the Clu Clu Land thread. This is not your personal thread; there are no personal threads here, aside from some exceptions at the offtopic forum. To prevent further confusion, I am locking this thread. If you wish to continue talking about your Clu Clu Land movie plans, do it in the thread I linked to.]

This is the closest I can get (which still is pretty close) to getting the mushroom as fast as you. So far, between V8.0.1 and V8.0.6 (yes, this is 8.0.6) The frames gained is only about 30 frames, but it shows 8.0.6 as being 1 second less. So.... where is 8.0.6? You've found it. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/894265749/SMB3_SMAS_100_8.0.6.smv And I thought the max P-meter value was 128....

I tried to use nitsuja's strategy of getting the leaf ASAP, but that didn't turn out well. Well, I'll keep on trying until I get it, even if I finish 1-1 10 years from now! OK, maybe not that long...

OK, now it works. Thanks! I just realized, the value for full P-Meter is 128. :P The game that would eventually become Mario Galaxy. Also, I have two new vids. Each one does pretty much the same thing, and I can't choose which one to use. Canidate 1: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/469440281/SMB3_SMAS_100_8.0.3.smv Canidate 2: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/142966086/SMB3_SMAS_100_8.0.4.smv I say 2, but what do you guys think?

I just finished watching the 4 of you's warpless run, and I've been trying to find nitsuja's run for a long time, but I couldn't find it. Thanks! And while working on V8.0.1 I finnaly got the mushroom and did it, And I cleared the pipe, so my bad XD.

I know you can still get it while it's in the block, the reason I caught it mid-air was so I could pick up the shell for throwing at the Venus Fire Trap. Another slight problem is that with that, you would'nt be able to jump the blocks, again without a shell. Will do-over 1-1 to try that, though. EDIT: I just realized, 50 replies! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1873715341/SMB3_SMAS_100_8.0.1.smv That's the closest I can get :P. 23 frame difference with V8.0, probably because I don't have to use wall-jump at the pipe.
I believe one common problem with it is having to rename the SNES9x executable. Mine is named snes9x+v9.exe and it works, so I suppose I would recommend trying that. Also, you have to find the hex values you need for yourself and configure the watcher for the game. If you run the memory watcher and hit enter, it opens up the text file you'll want to look at. It has a couple of examples in there to help get you started.
It says SUPER MARIO ALL_STARS ??? but nothing else happens. I also can't seem to make snes9x smaller and run both at the same time.

Thanks! And guess what? Out of the blue, I'd like to thank adelikat, Deign, Cardboard & JXQ for making that surprise SMB3 NES that will help me for the first few levels and last world. I'm also giving credit to JXQ (again) for his warpless run and (wonder if he's still somewhere on the internet) トクシン for HIS warpless run. All of these have given me ideas on a good TAS for SMB3. Now it's time to make the SNES (my friend calls it the Snez) shine in SMB3-y glory! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/979902269/SMB3_SMAS_100_8.0.smv Clicky the linky to watch 1-1 in glitchy glory! Version 7 Re-records (all World 1): 197 (1-1 was like.... 35) Version 8.0 Re-records (Just 1-1): 75! Trust me, getting the whole mushroom thing to work was harsh man, just, harsh. Period.

Since this is my first time even attempting a TAS, I have NO idea how much or how little different re-records are. Oh well. There's ALWAYS time for improvements :P. Could someone help me, Memory Watcher isn't working with SNES9XW Improv 9. You know, I wonder why there isn't a seprate All-Stars tricks page becuase many things you can do in SMAS you can't do in the oringal of the games.

Funny thing, I used the 1-F trick IN that video to help me, but after about 50 tries, I cound not do it. Also, now that I see http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1611855621/SMB3%20100%25.smv I feel ashamed of ever doing it XD. (This is V1 done the same day I joined) Now I'm working on startagies through World 1. Any suggestions on 1-1 through 1-F?

1-1, 1-F, 1-5, and 1-A took FOREVAH to do, I kept running into blocks, walls, got hit by Podoboos, and kept getting hit by BBs. This is going to take longer than I thought (I thought it would take maybe 4-6 weeks)

That's checked and it STILL won't let me. Maybe I should use a different version of snes9x.

For some odd reason, even when "Allow Left+Right" is checked, it won't allow left + right....

I'm confused on whether I should do L+R because some people hate it, and some people like it. Very confusing.
