Thank you NesVideoAgent. Also, I thank my friend who corrected my awkward English. This run still has possibility of optimization, but I think that the run proves many things. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed :)

Finally, Dedede Battle. I got tired... Is it good? How can I - defeat Dedede faster? - make it more entertain? Any idea?

It is impossible to concatenate segmented movies fully automatically! (Still, smvcat is helpful to do it) I hope I will optimize my movies slowly but surely. Of course, any idea to improve them is always welcome. I saved about 60 frames in Course 1. Currently, I can put a single run. (it might be impossible if I modified a part of movies) Here it is: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2528/gocha-kirbysdreamcourse.smv What a endless run this project is! (Though I think it is not bad that I did segmented run to optimize the work tightly)

I developed/updated/released 3 tools. Snes9x memory watcher (rev.5, added fontsize option), smv2csv and smvcat. Here they are: gocha's TAS Labo: SNES Tools I am glad that JXQ who is one of my favorite players appreciates my tool :)

You can change font color. Open s9xwatch.ini (press enter key) and modify colbg/colplain/coladdr/colformat/colvalue/coldesc value. (In fact, even I think that it is hard to use this tool with default color setting. I should modify them) Currently, you cannot change font size. I will probably implement such option.

OK. I will modify all movies to make tool-assisted connection easier. I hope I will put a full-run movie regardless of submitting.

Manual labor! I tried to combine them by a simple script but it failed. So, I will combine them by hand using emulator, hex-editor and my smv2csv tool.

Played all holes. Now you can see my sloppy Kirby's Dream Course Run (segmented). Enjoy :P By the way, which course should I choose Normal or Extra when fight with Dedede? If I choose extra, then his damage will be half (see $87/8791. by the way, I am not sure about the branch at $86/FE14). In my opinion, fighting with extra dedede is just boring... Or, I do not need even to fight with him? :P I wonder when I should submit my run. Should I submit it soon? (Though I guess most voters say no and it will be rejected) (´・ω・`) Anyway... I should optimize it harder. If you told me nice strategy, I would be happy :) P.S. I wish I could write smart English :(

Very tiny thing, but I want to ask. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2411/kdc-title-raw.smv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2412/kdc-title-reset.smv Which should I use? Reset version is looking faster a bit than non-reset version. (Of course they were recorded by snes9x-improvement with reset recording)

As you know, my goal is same as Tilus' (shoot for lowest score, then go as fast as possible). So I cannot use many strategies you used, but I might get some hints of making my WIP faster. Thank you, Less Ashamed Of Self. I am wondering if I should keep Fireball skill in hole 6-2.

3-5 with $7E/69DC trick: I wish someone made a hole-in-one movie. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2252/3-5-wd-wq1.smv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2253/3-5-wd-wq2.smv "Shot on the Water" demo hole is very useful to adjust $7E/69DC.

I figured out the problem in 7-3. The problem was caused by $7E/69DC. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2228/7-3-demo.smv I enjoyed a hard time to read 65816 assembly, thank you :P

IMPORTANT NOTE: This tool is no longer supported, since snes9x-rr (svn trunk) ported ram tools from gens (from vba-rerecording, more precisely). So use the built-in watch instead. Download: conf -> wch converter - a lua script which might help you, an old user of my crappy watch. ?9qiygyxmr2j

Thank you. I would do Normal+Extra run (If I would not give up! :/).

I found something. "set direction faster" doesn't mean "set power faster". http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1659/dir1.smv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1660/dir2.smv I suppose it is related with camera angles... And I found that left+right saves time at some point. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1661/lrabuse.smv 7E0086/7, 7E0088/9, 7E6ADE, and 7ED9B4/5 are my friend :(

As second quest? If I do Normal+Extra run in one movie, then I probably ignore Dedede in Normal Course.

wa, bikkuri (oh, surprise). Well, I put a new WIP. I went back to Course 1, but saved 2468 frames in total :) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1644/gocha-kirbysdreamcourse-finishedcourse1.smv I improved 1-3 and 1-8, then saved about 30 frames. I also used the restart sequence, then saved about 40 seconds. I am suspicious of everything now. I believed that my strategy was optimal, but it was not true.

This game seems like it would be very difficult to optimize.
You're absolutely right, JXQ! :'( By the way, I have a question. Should I do Extra Courses "as second quest", or not?

Wow, you are really good at Japanese! I'll try to keep a nice work, arigatou (thank you) everybody. Well, I put Course 7 WIP on my website (see signature). They are not completely optimal, but pretty fast. have fun! And, I put a funny movie here (not a part of speedrun). enjoy :) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1569/kirbysdreamcourse-holein2.5.smv

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1567/gocha-kirbysdreamcourse-finishedcourse3.smv I did my best, but I suppose there are better ways of going about this course. oh well 06-08-10: improved 3-5, now 12 frames faster than previous movie Any questions/comments/idea?

I put my wips which finished up to Course 6. Rerecord them if you want.
Revned wrote:
Are you going to do the Extra courses too?
If I've done Normal courses, I'll do Extra courses as second quest.
Revned wrote:
I've been working on 2-5, and I think a Hole-in-One is possible. I've come pretty close, but not quite.
That sounds nice. I hope that you would get it.
Revned wrote:
Can you go back and redo a single hole, or would you have to redo them all?
If you improve 2-5, I have to redo 2-5~2-8 (hex-editing sometimes fails, I think). However don't worry about it. I have movies of each courses, and my utility smv2csv will help me to rerecord movie. I welcome any improvements.

Thank you for your comment. My "ok" example was recorded from Revned's 7-3 movies. My "ng" example was recorded from Revned's 6-8 movies. No differences of controller data between the movies. Anyway, I can get hole-in-one in both movies. However I think "ok" example save about 10 frames.
