I tend to judge TASes of games I didn't play growing up based purely on entertainment value, and though I do appreciate the effort that went into achieving what is probably excellent technical quality, I thought this was pretty boring. Nothing personal, but for me, it was just, you know, a car going really fast around a track a few times. As far as the "it's not a complete run" argument, I'm on the fence, as I think there should be certain exceptions to that rule, particularly for games like this. Sorry, but my vote is no.

Short and sweet, love it. Would have quickly gotten old, but it's over soon and remains entertaining throughout. I thought the boss fights in chapters 5 & 6 were especially comical, but the best thing about it by far is its dissimilarity to Battle Chess. Definite yes.

This seems like an awful lot of battle chess for just one grue to consume. Someone should submit a walkathon bible adventures for variety.

I definitely agree with the crowd on this one - the technical quality is fine, but watching someone else play this game is like watching a very slow leak form drops of water, i.e. there's a ton of time between the moments when SOMEthing actually happens. Sorry, but I vote no.

Nothing wrong with game a splode in mega-high-def, but it doesn't make it any easier to catch that 1-frame adjustment. And just how many avatars do you have, Flygon?? =)

OK, that was an awesome three minutes of lightning-fast gameplay no less entertaining than the Mario 3 tas. A quality run for sure. YES!

isn't this game technically titled "Action Gamemaster", not Cheetahmen? I know the menu says Cheetahmen, but the start screen and manual say otherwise
Cheetahmen is the flagship title on a NES cartridge filled with 52 of the worst games ever made: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_52 And welcome to the site. =)

Sigh. My only issue with the publication of this TAS is that, in a way, it would legitimize an unlicensed game that is near-universally accepted as being horrendous. I would rather just let Cheetahmen quietly disappear from memory. However, I vote yes because I would have voted yes on the also-unlicensed Bible Adventures, which is arguably just as bad. And it goes without saying that, in terms of technical quality, Swordless' run is excellent. I hope I am never again reminded that this game exists.

What are you talking about? It's an awesome TAS of an awesome game. Incidentally, why hasn't anyone TASed Bible Adventures yet?

What a piece of crap game. From the Action 52 Wikipedia article: "The games have been known to freeze or crash due to programming flaws, have incomplete and/or endless levels, unresponsive controls, and confusing design. In the game manual, each title had a one-sentence description. Some titles were described as completely different games and some were incorrectly described or miscategorized." I'm voting yes only because a person who suffered through this 20 years ago would probably get something out of the run... though that something might be a seizure. And I have that damn music in my head now.

I don't understand why this goal keeps appearing in the queue. Felipe, please consider discussing your runs in the forums or IRC before submitting...

To be honest I actually do kind of like seeing the occasional bogus submission (and "hazzles" that follow), as it kind of mixes it up a bit and makes the queue feel more "raw". When I suggested this I was thinking that it'd also possibly be for the good of the submitter, to force a lurker to know at least the basic idea of TASvideos before submitting a bogus run... but I concede that I would miss that "raw" quality if things did change. =)

I second this. In fact, I think that, in general, a TAS submission by a user having no published runs should go through some kind of a quick pre-approval by a judge (not the actual judging) before being subjected to scrutiny in the forums, especially if said user's status is "lurker", i.e. zero forum activity. Maybe a new user rank could be established for this purpose, to lighten the burden on the judges. Just a thought.

Without watching the run, I'll say that you probably deserve some credit for completing the game skillfully, but to create a TAS one doesn't need real-time skill, only imagination and willpower - not that I've ever made one myself. It's hard for me to appreciate real-time skill, as I'm accustomed to seeing epic things like Adventure of Link fly by in like six minutes. Incidentally I wonder if there's a correlation between the desire to TAS a game and lack of real-time skill in said game? I would wager yes. =)

Unbelievable. This, for me, is right up there with Gradius and Family Feud; watching rampant creativity at work is extremely entertaining. WELL DONE!! Post-pub *huge* YES.

Poor NitroGenesis. Nice run though. It's a good thing Digger can survive 30+ foot drops (cavern 7), and you just know what he's saying is OHHH SHIIIIIIIIIII....* Yes.

I played this on my commodore 64 a loooong time ago and can appreciate the superhuman qualities of the run, as it is a very frustrating game, but that said, I'm sorry to say I was pretty bored watching this. It's no fault of MUGG; his run is solid, and I think little can be done to make the game more interesting to an observer. The exploited glitches are neat tricks, but don't add much to the entertainment value (at least for me). The music is excellent, but I am compelled to vote meh.

It's a pity the dude can't run, it would probably have made a very positive difference in entertainment value. Nonetheless, I think someone who has played through the game would appreciate this run, and (at least to me) it certainly appears optimized, so I vote yes.
