I've finished boss endurance TAS and beat old record from 2008. 86 frames (in-game time) faster and skipped 3:04. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80JNa9ODfLo

I've been waiting for highscore TASes like andypanther too. I'm looking forward to seeing final product! Invite link was expired so I couldn't read convo there but I think you deliberately didn't gain hits from bosses as it lets you get infinite hits in some planets?

good job! I improved my 8:01 run several years ago but ended up not submitting. But yours is faster so I'm glad I didn't submit. :p Though I'd like to share more one improvement you missed. You can jump out of way after picking stick but it still counts exiting. https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637922592596769134

I recently finished the tas on experimental core. (bsnesv115+) Is it fine to submit or should I wait until core gets accepted for submission? I'm not planning to try resync on old bsnes core because the run is nearly 3 hours.

What I know is getting some expensive bait = get some high scoring fish = win. Also, at the beginning you actually can set the days the tournament can go on for (3-94 iirc?). I assume anyways that more days = higher difficulty. I use the lowest (default) day counter, so I assume this is essentially the easiest difficulty.
I glanced at several pages that explained how the game works. First part of quote is yes, that's only how tournament mode (you picked for your tas) works. And opponents only get same score so if you catch good fish, you win. (Apparently each fishes have their fixed score more or less) For second quote, you can set certain number of days as you said. But it's not difficulty. More days just open for preparation for good bait so less days means harder difficulty but faster (You need to spend all days you set to end tournament) I guess.

And actually name your characters properly this time. Remember, text is not going to have any effect on the judgement for speed. It's the gameplay that matters.
unfortunately, texts do affect to gameplay because rng advances by 1 per a character. Long name can cause to go past desired rng and that's not fixable especially in battle. In my opinion, best runner can do is naming all 4 characters differently with one name.

I enjoyed watching this, nice work! The check glitch could not only be used to trigger the debug menu, but also to trigger most events. You can use it to warp to Summers, to Threed, and other places. The check glitch itself (and not just the debug menu) should be declared banned for this category and for "inbounds".
I only knew check glitch could lead to just debug menu. But as you mentioned, I just remembered one of old TAS used the glitch to warp to threek hotel. So yeah, banning check glitch is good idea. I'll edit submission text alone with new amount of timesaves.

I loved watching this. My only question is: why didn't you use Teleport Alpha in Onett to speed through the town before getting to the place where you use it to clip onto the meteorite's ledge?
I tested teleport more some places other than you mentioned, I only found it was slightly slower than walking. I assume teleport becomes faster if the area is super laggy to walk through. Onett in night isn't that case when erasing enemies with manipulation.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/67865100643993284 I'm asking for replacing move because I improved 78 frames from old movie. pretty much nothing is changed visually as improvements came from text mashing. lol I won't bother to redo temp encode again. Nevermind, I'll replace with new one today.

Thanks for answer, I have no idea how do I check accuracy myself. I'll wait until someone do that and see if it's good enough for submissions in future.

is faust allowed to use for submissions? bizhawk says the core is experimental and I couldn't find any mentions about core from other than release history page.

Why not? I think it's worth submitting, especially if you used the console verification mode for the new version.
As you mentioned, I remembered seeing submissions with small changes before. I'm not like refusing to submit but just thought it's not worth. I guess I'll submit without encoding since I said run was almost identical visually.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/64935968987864315 6 years later, I came back to this and improved about 5s with latest version of bizhawk. I only corrected 1 wrong answer in department and that's all improvement. I won't make encode or submit when it's 99.9% same as published tas visually.

Here's a comparison video between Chuta, and OGA & smns72's old WIP. Judging by that 30 FPS video, the new WIP looks to be around 208 frames (3.46 sec) faster.
Chuta's run is slower and he explains accurate emulator is slower but that's not right. bizhawk/snes9x 1.56 or newer are faster than 9x 1.43 which old wip used. That means he loses frames even more just due to worse movements. I have comparison video.

I checked description in his nicovideo and it said he were aiming for both speed and entertainment. (it applies to both his submissions) Abstaing vote because I didn't watch the run.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/58936762875965054 Bloopiero made small mistake at the end level 2 so actual time save was 4 frames. Now I fixed that part and hexed with Memory's inputs for level 3.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/58934663182346748 Level 1 is unchanged, 2 is 4 frames faster and I couldn't get any better results than memory's latest attempt in level 3 so I just copied her inputs.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/58923434330200059 level 1 only again, a frame saved from Bloopiero but I still feel 1-1 isn't maxed.

I'm also curious if it would be better to sacrifice Dixie at some point to reduce the lag in Parrot Chute Panic.
sacrificing reduces lags as you thought but it doesn't save enough to be faster unfortunately. Approximately, 100 frames slower than current strat.
