Thanks to (because of?) Xuhjan, I had to go back to the drawing board. Already after Suzie, I saved 760 frames. That includes his novel ideas (critical hits as a child and against the zombies), but also much improved fights against everyone else. I even got THREE counters against the roaches

Down another 600 frames. Let's now see if I can get better outcomes aroundf Parma (and I might rework Tsarkon; I've never seem him wait that long to lower his head)

I finished again and saved another 1500 frames. However, I think I can still squeeze a few more frames by arriving in Carthatena with 110k experience, therefore gaining a level after the dragon fight AND not needing to shop at all.[/img]

New completed run, nearly 9500 frames shorter than the preceding one. The Raphael Stick is definitely a must, but I need to plan my fight better so I gain a level on my way to Excalabria instead of shopping for MP-restoring jewels. Anything else I should look for also?

Now 3274 frames ahead after the crystals of Swaffehn. Thanks to more intense manipulation, I've obtained the 20-steps battle EVERY single time and optimized soldiers' movements in Swaffen (except once). I MIGHT try a rerun after that to see if dropping superfluous magic (Sanguia) and items (alarm clock, dungeon key) will make such a difference

Item drops are overrated. I've restarted and saved nearly 1200 frames after the first girl demon fight.

This is it! 1h36. But a quick check (you can freely travel the world and shop after defeating Tsarkon) showed me that the banshee powder warps are too long, at least before Swaffehn. Extrios is definitely a plus in the Cave of Thule to cast Inaudios. You won,t believe how quickly I defeated Tsarkon, and with barely a scratch

I'm pretty confident it wouldn't. If anything, it would just make the run better. Of course, I could cancel it and upload the right file *this* time

can't it be delayed? I've seen it before

Yes, I want to delay the run because of the novelties from the newest glitchless run. But as it is, the glitched run allows to breeze through so many fights that otherwise take (in total) 5 more minutes

On my way to Excalabria, again. Casting spells takes WAY too much time; I've fallen behind the previous test run. Extrios is definitely out; I will test banshee powder warps later

No, I get the scanlines as well. Ryu still moves at 16 frames per step though so I think it's purely a visual thing; it doesn't produce any lag frames. It's also only that one screen (which we only enter a few times) so hopefully it's not a serious issue for viewing quality. More weirdly, Bizhawk also doubles the size of window while on that screen. It's only a minor annoyance for fitting to my stream layout, but if someone knows how to get rid of that it'd be nice. Do you have the subtraction backward? My understanding is that the older emulator that janus used in 2010 produced fewer lag frames than a real SNES. So his movie on a modern emulator would be an additional ~5k frames slower. I could well be mistaken though.
The way I calcultated it is by comparing the exact same moment 9say, when killing Deathevn) and comparing the frame lag at the exact moment

By including Bizhawk lag, how does this submission compare?

I hope it will be distinct, considering that "normal" gameplay could hardly to the glitch. And If Xhujin's submission can get encoded, I would like to suspend this run so I can look at this one and use his new shortcuts

with the walking I had, I entered tagwoods right when it was "day", so timewarp skips the entire day. I would need to retest

-I admit not having tested skipping Bleu, but I used it as an entertainment trade-off. Jean doesn't have much MP; and Bleu has attack-up - That could be tested - Eichichi is in Guntz; getting her when I exit Thieves' tomb is not optimal? - I'm pretty sure I tested that one; timewarp is rather slow

wow, it's pretty major (Patty). As for medicate: it improves "condition", but how does it improve Rand's fighting ability? BTW: the glitch run is (hopefully) separate since it's not "normal" gameplay

My bad; I only focused on the moondrop.

Maybe. Do you have a WIP? What have you been able to improve?

So should I personally change it or will the publishers?

My planning has paid out. I abuse item drops (banshee powder, and even money chests), and saved 1800 frames after my first fight with the girl demon. I won't have to shop for other items. If only I could find Griffin wings drops...

After much hardship, I was FINALLY able to redo my run with acceptable times. Now about 600 frames ahead after Parma, AND my death warp allows me 20 steps

I got all the crystals... but I forgot to drop by Barrow to buy my pass to Cartathena. But I think I have enough; Inaudios doesn't work inside dungeons, but nothing stops me from casting it before entering them. I might try to get that item that imitates inaudios too.

YUUUUUUUUUGE news: Inaudios freezes the step counter. This means I will need a rerun since I can buy all my books (Inaudios, Aries and possibly Extrios) at the same place and not buy as many gnome stones

Who care about quality? At least it can be seen! Is it possible to change the file now, or only when it will be published?
