I should have thanked you for helping test it. You are welcome.

The movie file linked is named SMLimproved.vbm. Are you sure it is an improvement on the appropriate submission? EDIT: Alright, I'll impersonate adelikat.

I happend to have made a super-sloppy run of it, which was 20 minutes long. The game has some jump-through-walls glitches, but not very interesting.

Don't be afraid. We have been for ages accepting runs abusing silver bullets.

It's an unassisted longplay. Clearly not acceptable material here. Voting no.

@Gunty: Well, the main quest of the game stated that "NO ROBOT will have uellow or green on its tapes, UNLESS YOU PUT IT THERE". However, the bonus stages violate that by formally using green as the string separator. This could be justified is green is supposed to be "glue" to concatenate string tapes consist of red and blue. we have no clue of what yellow is and can't make any safe assumption of it.

So, for some reason comments aren't propagating to the forum. If you'd like to see the actual publication, post the critiques.

3 more fps. I can't say that it's useless, but...
9.6 is much better than its predecessors in terms of emulation accuracy (which we highly value here). So much so I'm considering not accepting old desmume movies anymore.
Is v0.9.6 still so more accurate than the previous versions when "advanced bus timing" is off? As far as I've known, many new movies are made or being made with this option off. This is a big concern here.

There appears to be an emulator bug with either emu.frameadvance() or emu.pause(), but I don't know if it's relevent as I am never into the Lua implementation of VBA. You may have better chance when someone like Gocha (who actually implemented Lua for VBA) more experienced in Lua than me shows up.

Oops. Nothing a quick and dirty fix can't handle though. Seraphim, 21 parts: ?lvl=29&code=p12:6f7;c12:5f3;c12:4f3;c12:11f3;g12:3f3;p10:6f6;p14:6f0;r14:7f1;b10:5f3;b14:5f3;r10:7f1;p11:4f5;p13:4f5;g11:5f1;g13:5f1;q13:6f2;q11:6f4;q12:7f0;c12:10f3;c12:9f3;q12:8f0;
Fails with more than two strings in the input: * bbGbbGbb (three strings) * bGbG (three strings, the last one of which is empty) * GGGG...GGGGG...G (lots of empty strings) The correct implementation is like this (21 parts) (and it's faster)!

@Bisqwit: I don't think a string of zero length should be accepted. But if it should be, then just a small change would fix it: Judiciary! 46 parts accepting null strings

You mean Up+B+C jumping in place? I just tried it in Miami Bonus and I didn't fall down.
You have to press Up and C simultaneously without going forward i.e. to jump and fall down in place.

Here's a thought: Buy economy wheels early in the game (around Denver or Seattle). If all goes well, they'll give out right at the start of Miami Bonus, saving upwards of 20 seconds. No suiciding necessary! If I run this game again, I think I'll try to do that.
This sounds like a better idea. EDIT: B-A-Down-A-Start-Start at the warning screen is definitely a password to activate the cheat mode in this game. However, this is not a big concern here. Instead, whether the author is actively working on an improved run is.

Since the published movie was very well optimized, a small improvement could be considerd substantial and accptable, even though such decision might encourage frame wars. Entertainment-wise, this run is regarded as inferior to the current publication, because the affectional scenes were not as imposing as those from the published movie.

The screenshots could be useful since them did attract me to some movies of obscure games. It could be re-implemented as an optional feature toggled by the submitter.

Question: Wouldn't it look better if you avoid bumping into the corners during jumping? That would be one of the few situations where wobbling is not bad. Comment: My comment is insufficient. Status: Lack of useful comments. Verdict: T.B.D.

I watched the unassisted speedrun on SDA and determined an "any%" run wouldn't be much shorter. Anyway, I'm afraid that the gameplay of inputting passwords throughout this whole "100%" run will never change in any "any%" run, provided no huge glitch/sequence-break is discovered.

If its gameplay is less repetetive and monotonous than that of the first game is, it may be worth trying, seriously.

Some of my old WIPs are on 0.9.5 due to historical reasons. However, the latest ones are still on 0.9.5 simply because 0.9.6 is much slower than 0.9.5 on my PC, which could increase the production time by about 33-100%.
