EDIT: after taking a deeper look I found the prob, My mistake really I was choossing from the wrong file, here is the right one http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/933376113/Metal%20Combat%20-%20Falcon%27s%20Revenge.smv

All right! I watched and my Yes vote is done...also a question... On bloodpoll action 2 on the boss, there were no way to stand on the same plataform as the boss? when you fight him again on last stage you sometimes goes on the same plataform as him right? it could save a few frames but sure I can be wrong, just would like to hear the explanation!

Hie guyz, long time no post, sorry for the delay... here is da Viscount WIP... I tried to shot his antennas, which are his parts with less life before legs, it take long to destroi it and didnt help to much to reach the armor... so the best way I found is just to destroy the armor immediately... also LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1037985032/Metal%20Combat%20-%20Falcon%27s%20Revenge.smv

I can't find a list of times anywhere online, but if these turn out to be any good, I'll give some thought to a Normal Mode ST Falcon run. I know laranja is using Real Mode to access the highest difficulty, but that deprives you of the story, and I don't like that.
Hie dear, hmm on youtube there are few videos showing few good times, most times there are from sloopy gameplay, no one tased or tried a speedrun overthere...

I watched the work, should say the gameitself isnt bad, also this is on the list of ideias to be TASable... the TAS is pretty good for your first work, but I noticed there lack a bit of entertaining, for example, on the bonus stages, you just put the character on the fatest position and let it be until it land, I know its faster but sacrifying a bit of time for entertaiment isnt that bad... Also on parachute levels you should have gone throught the rings just to get max score even if its not needed... On choper levels you did some nice work by almost getting hit and ended input very early than I expected ,but I dunno, there is some way to keep the high speed while almost hitting the floor? I will vote Meh, but not because of game choice, but because its lacks a bit of entertaining, the game itself isnt bad! Yay! for mode7. Edit: I forgot to ask... why any% ? because you didnt go to plane levels? I think its not needed to put any%... maybe I'm wrong but could someone explain me please?

I dont know if anyone already did it ... there is already publicated TASes that uses 2 games at once using same input... I noticed all were from same console... So, how about doing the same but with 2 differrent consoles? EG: Snes+Gen... since many genesis game have on snes it may should be funny to watch 2 almost exactly games on different consoles to watch, for example, The Lion kING on genesis and snes, they have almost exactly gameplay and graphic design, but arent exactly equal on somes aspects, so a gameplay like that could show the differences between gameplays even the games being almost the same... so, what u guyz think?

Ressurecting bump for this thread, I'm very interested in making this game, since there is a NES version of it, it surely should be good to have the SNES version as well and the ideia list shows this game , and with good planning I think its possible to make a good run out of it... would like to hear ideias about this game, I'm not sure about which game level to use, normal or expert... it just changes character life container, on normal level you begins with 2~3 while on expert you dont begin with 0... and damage is very necessary to save time... but also a expert level gameplay should make a good show to watch... here is a WIP with the first 3 stages... just a demo, it can be improved... just made to show to you guyz watch and comment about strategies and routes and damage use Microstorage used emulator Snes9x 1.51

The enforced multishot (and thus missed shots), and the use of the same character twice, certainly don't help.
I tried to miss the max I could, but since few hordes come on lowest numbers than the shot itself I could´n help it, and I used thoses characters for add 1 extra stage, sorry.

Sorry laranja, but Tompa found an interesting way to save time on menus of DKC3 and it can be applied in this game also (24 frames faster)
Your're right, my bad, I tought I had to wait 1 frame between each input, really my bad, sorry.

Hmm guyz I'm not sure if there is another SMW threads but since this is the main one I have to ask here... Does using 2 player maybe help save time? I mean not for any% tas... but for a 100% ? using 2 players to share routes and stages ?

Sure the run is funny man, desserves a Yes! even adding the ending since I'm a lot interested in game ends. Edit: I suggest as screen shot, The Hero walking on the last floor almost reaching the artifact while the dragons are chassing him.

In console games, using a Game Over to save time is only done when there's a VERY GOOD REASON to do so, such as aforementioned death warping or glitching.
I've been thinking in an example to show, like on the Bionic Commando Arcade Tas thats on the site, the author foregoes deaths because he could easily death warp to the top of screen saving a good bunch of time, so if he used continues then he could just skip the stages without doing nothing but just dying until get to the top, skipping most action of the stage and decreasing a lot of the run entertaiments, I surely feels ok about deaths/continues being used for glitch purposes but not to just skip somes action places that can provide a bit of fun just in order to save time...

I mean, which program can do it? cuz I want post on youtube u guyz know what I mean right?

All the warp glitch Rygar runs employ death to skip massive parts of the game. Rygar only has 1 life, thus there is a big fat game over screen in all those movies.
Well, part of it might be that many people here consider (for a reason I personally don't fully understand nor agree with) that using an "cheat" offered by the game itself (whatever the definition might be in this case) is not ok, but if an unintended glitch is involved, then it becomes ok. Thus the rationale seems to be that a gameover in general is not ok, unless it's used to glitch yourself forward in the game. As said, personally I don't see why glitching should make any difference in this whole issue.
I think this apply to Earthbound glitched run then right? because the player dies and goes to a game over screen but its because the glitch bring him there but its reasonable , since it warped him forth to the game end.

Last I checked, a speedrun was supposed to complete the game as fast as possible, disregarding negative side factors such as taking damage, deaths and game overs if using them allows the game to be completed faster.
Why are we not using cheats again? Surely they would have made things faster?..
If you're talking about external cheats, those are modifications outside of the game and the point of a speedrun is to complete the game as it is, not modified. If you're talking about ingame cheats (e.g. Konami code, passwords), they're mostly not used for entertainment factors. (There isn't really a solid rule on this, as there are TASes on the site that use passwords). Viewers of a speedrun don't want to see the speedrunner beating 90% of the game just by inputting a simple password.
Well, I'm planning do Aero Fighters (SNES), I checked already all characters shot and subshots strengts, but the strongest ones are Rabio and Lepus which are secret and can be only be acessed by a code, this keeps bothering me because if I use them i can make the speedrun slight faster than using normal characters, but the fact its a cheat may make the tas look cheap or bad because of using such way but its help to save time , so, can I use them as a method to save some time even if it maybe go a bit againt the rules?

Griffin - Just wanted to check on that. It's still awesome you were able to charge up that full charge shot and take him down instantly with it. Cobra - Yeah, I guess you'd need to be very precise with shots to do enough damage for that to work.
My main improviment on Griffin was because I didnt use bomb and he missed me 3 shots, so the charge kept going without stop Cobra: Well, with lua scrip I will be able to check accurated how much damage the shot will do, so, just have to be precise but I will try to use nitsuja switch glitch as well to charge even faster and save frames, I jjust need a bit of time to make it, must be precise as well ... Oh another thing, I didnt tested yet but anubis strategy works as the same for Virvius 1? I dndt tried yet
