I've been thinking on this, over the past few days, and I'm coming close to a strategy on how I want to finalize my judgement. I may be processing other submissions, but I'm not ignoring this one. Just wanted you to know and the fact that I plan on finishing this submission in the next few days.

That is the right side of the core. I made a documentary that shows that side and why I didn't go that route.

I have finalized my judgement of this run. The only issue that I found, came from watching Faddy's run against yours. There are times that I see Faddy ahead (early in the game) and you catching back up. Then you are ahead, but get behind again. Eventually, you are growing in your lead and this never happens again. Can you please explain this?

I know I judged this, but I also had to make a post to say how much this style of game took me back to my youth when I was a player of these style of games. Yes vote.

Yep...completely understandable. The highly optimized outcome is the only excitement that I got from this.

This comparison may look trivial, but my BOT was able to help me understand the weakness of the AI. Having played this on Level 4...I originally thought that a 4 pieces win wasn't possible. But this comes from the testing of over 100,000 solutions...where I was finally able to catch on to what was happening. I eventually ended up tricking the computer myself with this 4 move solution, by taking advantage of RNG, which had a very small effect. RNG in this game would cycle through a few moves that were chosen for the CPU's next move. Oh...anyone interested in the savings, the BOT was able to help me get it cut by 2141 frames. Link to video

Yes...it is a limitation. This game always starts with an open hole at the top.

I'm glad to see DrD2k9's interest in some of these Compute's Gazette games. He has always been interested in trying to discovering other categories to widen the library of possible variances that a game can be played in. Looks really good. Yes vote.

I thought it about it a bit more and going for one quark will be faster, because you can waste all the remaining turns on the top left coordinates. There would be no travel time to point the laser into the cube. So...that is the only difference I can think of.

What would be different when aiming for fastest completion?
I had this talk with DrD2k9 over Pegs. Basically, both are strategy games and this game is complete after loosing all 25 efforts to find a quark. I'm not sure if there is a speed difference, since I didn't test that route. Who knows, maximum score could be the fastest effort. I only went for maximum score, since the game is extremely hard to play.

Well, it was a hard road...but we are finished. The kind of optimization here was hard to come by, but DrD2k9 figured out a trick that surpassed my understanding of this game. He was the bread winner of this optimization. With 828 frames cut, I congratulate you for figuring this out.

I don't know why I didn't think of this until now, but here is a comparison video between my best efforts and finally my BOT. Its not by much, but the BOT was able to find a good RNG seed that won out. Link to video

I figured to post this update here, since it didn't flow well with my submissions notes. Any one that notices the frames (about 7), where I skip the request for instructions...well, those were added in there to get the first enemy to appear vertically. As you probably have noticed from the video, it is faster to kill them over the ones from the side.

Yes...I have been working on that one and stopped months ago. I became disgusted with it, as I found an issue that I'm not quite able to get around. I just don't want to put something out that I know could be better.
