wow what a nice improvement to a short but fun game, the bunny hops ripped this game apart and the dancing was priceless, shame by the time you got to the locomotive it felt slowed down but it is a very long auto scroller to begin with lol, well done and impressive buster only run lol

everyone else has already pointed out the obvious here so I don't really need to add to it, it really doesn't look like you were getting any piece manipulations at all and aside from starting on level 0 instead of 9 point wise was a poor choice, that and getting anything less then a tetris is a total timewaster... sorry for the hard welcome here but.... anyhow don't give up take it as a learning experience and try to better yourself maybe post in the WIP forum first and take ideas before you submit a full run, who knows you might learn a trick or get some input on how to make the run faster or better and sadly while looking for older records I found one from 2009 with a much higher score at only line 310 so very suboptimal here

nice run well done, looks good to me and considering this game is honestly very annoying to play in normal situations especially the attic levels this was very fun to watch

so since there is still no real description on tricks and any info from the author on the 4th gear glitch which reading from feos comments say its not a glitch but a programing ability to actually make you go faster im voting meh as if this run could be faster by using what they programmed in then you should use it imho, making it a handicap for the run doesn't feel right and that you gave a handicap which might cost this run in the long run, would I like to see this game get published hell yeah I would as I loved this game back in the day... do I think this run is worthy of this well no and yes. I say personally if the programming trick that developers made into the game to make or break a normal race but instead this being a tas I think you should use it would it effect the entertainment of the run that's honestly entirely unknown as you use this as a handicap against you

so I liked the run however im curious about this 4th gear glitch if it would make the run faster then why truthfully resist using the glitch to make the run faster, I honestly want to vote yes however until there is more details added on the run I will abstain from voting at this time mainly due to lack of details given, once there is some details on glitches and a real reason as to why you didn't use a glitch that from what im hearing so far in other posts could of made the run faster at this time im a meh even tho I really love this title

love it, total yes vote, would jumping into the slot machine in cnz to collect more rings turn the perfect bonus off?? also would love to see a ring attack of sonic 1 with our favorite red treasure hunter, and maybe to see a ring attack with sonic and miles to include the special stages altho that may make it harder since once you get 50 rings in this game sonic turns super and would add pointless time to a run

so this is a unique game to begin with, very hard with no surprise that there are jumps of faith in this game, the glitch is very helpful for the top view stages, which im sorry drag on way too long, call me crazy but to get this glitch you would have to break the controller but hey its nice to exploit what would be otherwise impossible in real life, downside to this while I give this a yes vote the warpless one im gonna say no for 2 reasons, 1 other then the warp its identical to this run in every way with longer time, 2 the glitch makes this rotten hard game bearable, is there maybe a way to manipulate the rgn on those bugs some where else to not have to do the dance? possible improvement? very good work on finding and using the glitch

while I like the run idea, if you go as a no power up run its a no mainly since Yoshi is considered a power up in this game,(only in certain levels and counts as a hit) to me its a meh run as im confused as to why its run with (E) copy instead of a (J) or (U) copy is there any bonus to this format? altho I think by the time the wii came out everything was running the same speed so its not 100% an issue at this point, it needs to be refined a bit here and personally think it should be a small only run but instead of an any% think it would be better trying like smw and do a max exit under the small only idea, the any% route imho doesn't really need a small only as its slower then just a plain any% run, plus the Yoshi issue at least for me its an issue

I cant really see this as a good goal idea at all, on one hand if the goal was to get small fire, couldn't you easily just get him in the end of 8-4? if this was a speed run then why not warp to idk say world 3 or even world 7 and get the game error? while there are a few nifty "shortcuts" being small fire the long run its not that great, gotta vote no on this with a weak meh but more strongly no

not bad at all, the run looks clean and fairly fast for what honestly can be called a low% run in all honestly cause this gets the bare minimum to get the bad ending as its called, imho I think an any% run would get the 2nd ending since there are a total of 3 endings that im aware of here, this being the bad and the 100% being the best. now with this in mind i thought the rules to getting this ending was different then just going through the 1st 4 levels but its been a long time since ive played this game, thought it was just beating 3 or 4 bosses but i could be wrong, yes vote

well I like the idea of making this a branch run the confusion to this is it really cant be called 100% run since the zero parts are included in not only the passwords for saving items but it also changes the end bosses slightly, and this cant be considered the best ending since the way that one works is no armor but zero parts, it gets down to pulling strings on what it could be called, maybe a call it a no zero run? imho I would think a true 100% would be to get everything plus zero parts which would be slower as there is cutscenes plus the 3 bosses in a true 100% run, can this truly be an any% run tho since the only thing it doesn't get is the zero parts? plus if memory serves if you get all 4 armor parts you don't get the "best ending" clip

This reminds me that I've never seen a TAS of the FDS version of Lost Levels doing the A-1 to D-4 levels. I wonder why this has not been done yet.
IIRC, that would be because you need to beat the game eight times in a row on FDS in order to play World 9.
Back when romhacks required prior approval, a hack to set the number of completions where it needed to be was one of the approved hacks. As far as World 9, I thought the restriction was that you couldn't use Warp Zones, not having to make it without continuing.
for that its get to the end of the game without using warps, getting the a-1 to d-4 worlds you have to beat the game like 8 to 10 times then I think its like hold A on the start screen to access the extra mode where as the snes version was to get world 9 was beat the game without using the warps and the a to d worlds just automatically unlocked after wards, as for this run itself I love it and glad its getting a category here total yes to this

have to say no on entertainment and for the run itself, the guile fight in itself looked very unoptiomized and getting the time over on sawada was just bad all around, imho this game im sure has a possibility just this run was awful to watch, that and I totally didn't know this bad port of a game turned movie turned game even existed on the ps1

so since its now changed from a 100% to a warpless run its no to meh when I first seen this run it was labled 100% so that gives a solid no since the boomerang bro and fire bro in world 2 get skipped as well as other levels in later worlds. now that its labeled as a warpless run its way too sub par, warpless would skip levels and 100% would do all levels simple as that in this game imho. some levels were nicely done to get fast and not be too boring but others were not all that impressive, personally think you should cancel and try again with making the run 1 or the other and Mario 3 really isn't that long of a game in today's standards plus im sure you can save your inputs and maybe spice some levels up a bit, the koopa shell 1up trick in the playaround is a nice idea on auto scrolling stages would love to see this make it

well its nice that you came back and tried again without using the tails par code, I would rather you keep up the speed and do the skips, if the game glitches out cause its not able to load fully/properly then idc. meh vote from me cause I find it suboptimal more so on ARZ its noticed even before you do your delay to instigate the boss skip in a further boss. also tangent makes a valid point do we really need another sonic game?? doesn't seem like it really adds anything new to the table its almost like watching a tails playthrough of sonic 2 (adds nothing)

Nope, can't use that code on a real Game Genie as it can only modify the values of ROM addresses, unless the Genesis Game Genie is different from the NES and SNES ones. I wouldn't want to have to find out what changes the value of this particular address. Someone stand me corrected.
true its not a game genie code however it is a pro action replay code which will in fact modify programing code, that's where the issue is

gave a meh for it, brings back memories of when we first got a computer in school, wonder if on hard mode it would be a bit more unique and/or murder the family by drowning also wasn't there a way to kill them by snake bite if you went hunting?? its been way too long

have to say using the cheat codes made it too easy and if im not mistaken unless an extreme point to them that means flat out reject. mothrays got my answer as I was posting 1 is tails in the game to begin with or is it 1 player with tails hacked in with the cheat code 2 how come since you already got past the spring yard boss why not keep going? 3 maybe a better way of beating the Oil Ocean boss since all published runs already get him defeated b4 he dives have to say no for now, maybe a change to the game for a meh

evilchen you really don't want to know. Samsara, I feel bad that you repeatedly have to explain to nintoaster over and over again on any and everything that you say and repeatedly say but I do have to say I can agree with a lot that you have to say about this run and the over dramatic bs that has followed in its wake. Invariel, basically a rinse and repeat to what I said to samsara can nintoaster not understand anything that is being said on this run?? or will there be a 2 page argument tomorrow from him saying that this should be a run even tho at the time of my post its 14 no 7 yes and 3 meh.

so I went with a clear mind and read every single post, at least you gave me some minor even if it wasn't a good answer as to why what was done with the missiles vs super missiles, I have watched it all the way through and I seen where you could of used the super vs the 5 normal and you never used the super later on, if the RNG wasn't working for you then maybe a reattempt to get a better RNG this is a tas after all. if concerns over not having enough missiles then how bout you grab another tank to give you more. don't confuse what I said as total hate towards the run, what I would really like to know and is still been not addressed is how you have well over 90 seconds of improvements and I seen where it could even be more. as for what I had said earlier as for the not giving ideas it was a bit biased only due to what I have seen in the past and there have been some people who do tases and keep on doing just what you are starting to pattern only to get banned, don't feel discouraged by comments on this im sure with some time and effort you can make a WOW tas in the near future, try posting in the WIP for comments instead of just submitting a run and getting what you don't want to hear. now for the lurker I don't care what you think as im sure you wont be around much past this submission, but you took what I said completely out of context and I have given both good and bad advice to other runs in the past, what I had said is what I felt and if you don't like it well too bad, I have given lots of advice granted it might be a hard pill to swallow I could of said more then what I had already said. so my rant is this try again maybe instead of doing a mediocre human vs tas run how bout you try to do like I suggested a 100% map with 100% item collection or something like that, so far this run is like watching a mega man 1 buster only run which didn't go over so well but at least we had a full breakdown as to what was going on and more info then what your still not giving us, at least you gave minor credit to the author you used some (way more then 5% or so) in inputs, have you read all the issues other members have comments on, other then the lurkers who want this to pass even tho I still think this doesn't come even to par with a vault run and some of those runs IMHO aren't as par either but the key thing here to remember is its each individual members opinions and if your taking it too hard idk what to tell you. can you show us even in the WIP the 90 second improvements and get some positive comments instead of getting lurkers to defend on something that I don't think will make it

lets not go and give him more ideas on what we don't need for a tas, as for the run itself at times I felt more like I was watching the 100% run with some minor cuts to attempt to show off every part of the map, it could honestly make another sub category but for now I want to see if any more information can be gathered on what tricks were used and which glitches (if any) were omitted. for a game that ive seen torn apart and rebuilt from the ground up this was a very lack luster run, and have to give honest laughs for all the lurkers who signed up just for this run which stands a snowball's chance in hell right now. solid no here and if your wanting a meh from me then show me the 1:30 time cut off of this but go back and at least if your not going to collect all the items show me that you know they are there. with that in mind im sure you could even shave more then that minute plus if you used the right missiles on the doors when you have them and aren't using them
