While on the subject of Pokemon...how about Unown (??) as an assist trophy? You could have a black Pokeball, throw it and an Unown pops out and depending on its letter form has different attacks.

WIP time! The last three rooms are unoptimized, I'm just showing the route I'm going to take.

Invincibility's all for naught, so I'm going to go ahead and finish Farah's rooms, including the Slow-Down Ring skip (one of my favourites in the run, saves about two minutes) and I'll post a WIP once I beat the second boss. *hears crickets chirping*

OK...how the hell did you pull out so many addresses so quickly? I've tried cheat search for my runs and found nothing. A little help would be appreciated...

Got this to work before, but now it keeps desynching around frame 117,000 in Dodongo's cavern. Link goes into the room beside the groundjump room and pushes one of the fish things into a wall, and then he runs around and rolls into the scenery.

Hi, sorry for the delay but I'm currently researching an invincibility glitch. The one catch: they can't attack you, but you can't attack them. Also I can kill most in-game cutscenes and warp Farah by killing myself. Nice stuff ;)

As Farah sits around bored, the Prince does all her work for her... (movie + savestate, microstorage isn't working for me, sorry XD) Yes it's sloppy, yes it's unoptomized, but I just wanted to give a gist of the breakage for the first three rooms without using Farah AT ALL. I end the movie as soon as I need to switch to her. I will definitely redo this section, and later I'll post a route of what I have planned for the Farah levels.

Rolling is the fastest method of travel by mere frames, but you can't cancel out of a roll early unless you swing your sword, wasting precious frames while the animation cycles. However, when lining up the Lion Statues, it's best to roll because you can stop. The basic rule is: roll when you can, but if you can jump to a platform before rolling one last time, do so. I'm probably going to redo at least part of this (I'm particularly obsessed with perfecting the boss fight). Wait till you see what I have in store for the Farah levels, I'm really looking forward to doing those. Let me just say that, being the misogynistic bastard that he is, the Prince doesn't let Farah do much ;)

Doesn't matter now, I've switched ROMs to 1232 - Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time (U) (M3).gba . Shorter intro and it's a bit faster. EDIT: WIP with new ROM!

Despite ending with the worst kiss OF ALL TIME, I still give this a yes vote. Very entertaining through and through. I especially enjoyed the repeating sound clips. "Bond is here! AAAAAAAH! Bond is here! AAAAAAAH! Bond is here! AAAAAAAH!"

It would be a stupid Tas to make because it would differ too little from the existing one.
Does the full SNES TAS even collect any hearts? I didn't think there were any Zelda TASes on this site that collected hearts. TASing the GBA version of Link to the Past might be worthwhile for the extra couple of dungeons, though.
You have to collect hearts to get through doors. Same goes for Zelda 1.

Er...can anyone be more specific? I find using the cheat search to be a bit awkward to narrow down so many values to one for speed... I'm running a search late in the game with the Prince not moving, because obviously I don't know his speed. There's stll close to 30,000 addresses. Gotta keep slogging I guess...

I'm working on a TAS for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time at the moment and I want to use RAM addressess to monitor the Prince's speed. I have two questions: 1. Is it possible to search for RAM add. in VBA? 2. If so, is there a relatively easy trick to track down the speed counter?

I'm looking for breaking points while creating a route. Basically none of the big shortcuts happen until after the first sand boss (Double Jump). I don't think it's posisble to skip absorption, unless somebody comes up with a clever way to skip the Lion Statues. You can skip DJ temporarily, but other puzzles later in the game require it. EDIT: More major cuts in time! This keeps getting better and better (if only anyone was actually following this thread...)

I have more time on my hands so I decided to give this game a go again. This is just playing with the physics to determine fastest movement etc. Please comment.

This run improved on the previous by 66.6 seconds. Do you know what that means, kids? LUCIFER MADE THIS TAS! Just kidding. Great run and a yes vote from me.

Yesterday, on Yom Kippur, I prayed for the atonement of my sins. The next day, Mukki's Majora's Mask run is published. Coincidence? I think not. I can now break the fast over a big fat bowl of popcorn and watch the run, unbroken, without audio desynchs...in its full glory. Ahhh, the bliss.
