I'd love to see a Domo-Kun Angry Smashfest no-death run considering I can't get past the Golden Axe level (my dragon keeps running away before the red knights arrive)

I think how this should work now is that I'll post snapshot runs for each level and we should dicuss routes. I am DETERMINED to a) finish a TAS for once and b) make an unentertaining game entertaining. Any help would be appreciated. I have a few questions: 1) Is Callmewoof's route the fastest one? If not, how can it be changed? 2) Does anyone know of any glitches for this run, e.g. passing thru walls and platforms that will quicken the run? 3) Does left/right velocity play a factor in movement?

Sami: Those are just test runs. I need to finalize routes before I start TASing the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, I've redone the first minute or so of this game. I answer the question (luck manipulate to get a question where the correct answer is A) and then went to the Haunted Mansion. The WIP can be found here.

Oh dammit, gotta redo the intro. Ah well, all my hard work in the Pirates level went for naught.

Yes, and I think I can get sub-10. I already have double the rerecords in the first two minutes than this guy had in his whole run XD.

Adventures in the Magic Kingdom WIP Completes the game up to getting the first silver key (Pirates of the Carribean). Any comments would be appreciated. This run includes many leaps of faith that are near-impossible to do in realtime.

EDIT: I don't know if this is the right spot to put this thread. If it's not, s/o is free to move it to the appropriate forum area. I have an idea that should provide an interesting competition: make a TAS of a game using up to two Gameshark codes (e.g. moon jump, infinite keys, etc.) and whoever makes the best TAS (a panel of judges e.g. Bisqwit, nitsuja, Truncated etc.) gets their run "published" in the concept demos section of the site. Again, this is all just theory, but if Bisq actually wants to go ahead and make this happen, by all means do so.

My name comes from the fact that I am Canadian, and Canada used to be a British colony. Also I'm part Polish and part British. Since the British side of my family is least prevalent in my family tree, I thought it would be funny to be something I'm not (English). My other nicknames (which I use on various sites) require some explanation: 1. TEM: an abbreviation of theenglishman, obviously 2. nunavut_dude (my email address): Nunvaut is a Canadian province which was added to the map in 2000. 3. qubit: My first name is Noah, and Noah measured his ark in cubits (check your local Bible if you don't believe me). And a Q*bert reference that was thrown in for good measure. 4. pwnedTAS: a name I once used on YouTube to post TAS WIPs. Of course, a more proper name would have been cancelledTAS, but that's the way life goes

Don't forget bad physics, shitty framerate randomness and platform clipping. Honestly, the new version of Sonic 1 won't be worth playing at all. Also, to nitsuja: every time you destroy a Sonic game, God kills a kitten. PLEASE! THINK OF THE KITTENS!

I'm arresting you for a (flying) battery assault on this game. You have no right to murder this game into tiny little smithereens as you have done. Shame on you, nitsuja! Just kidding. YES AND A STAR!

I'm working independently on a TAS of the game Disney's Alice in Wonderland. I plan to do it mostly on my own, but there's one spot I'm stuck on: optimized Overworld (Wonderland) routes. This part of the game (after the bottle level) is extremely hard to optimize and I'm not sure where to go first and what is faster. Any help would be appreciated. PS - There are no FAQ's ANYWHERE for this game so I have to do everything from scratch.

Very nice work FODA. Though the levels seem a little unoptimized (such as one painting entrance) I must applaud you for your camera work. Very inventive angles this one has!

I'm not sure. It would be awesome to go straight to Ganon's Castle right after getting the Grappling Hook and Fire/Ice arrows!

Let's go forward to a time when Gamecube emulators with frame advance, slowdown and rerecording, and you have been assigned to do the TAS for Wind Waker. So... Let's make a potential Wind Waker TAS route! I think that when GC emulators are available the route could be sub-6. The only major tricks I can think of @ the moment are: - Use the Moblin carry trick to speed through the road to Ganon's Tower. Using this allows you to gain enough speed to jump over huge gaps which usually require the Hookshot - Use the Tower of the Gods sequence break to skip the first two statues in said dungeon. - It's possible to get into the Wind Temple early but it's useless if we don't find a way to bypass the need of the Iron Boots in the Wind Temple. Other elements, such as pendant routes, will need to be fully optimized as well. Anyway, discuss.

Quick question about the 16-star route: isn't it faster to take the bunny's star and skip Dire Dire Docks?

You can't blame the main 2001 theme on the composer. That's actually a classical piece. The name of it escapes me at the moment.
