If all the Links from the different LOZ games fought each other, who would win? (it's a shame regular users can't do polls) - LOZ/Adventure of Link Link - Link to the Past Link - Link's Awakening Link - Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask Link - Oracle of Seasons/Ages Link - Any one of the Four Swords Links - Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass Link - Twilight Princess Link - CD-i Link - Minish Cap Link Enjoy discussing *shot* EDIT by feitclub: "Mekka-lekka hi mekka hiney ho!" Your wish is granted. 2nd EDIT by feitclub: Added CD-i and Minish Cap link, as requested.

The darknut trick...? Ehum... You see everything in the movie. The entrance to the room is just below. Just go up and close to the darknut, he will see you and run forward. When he is in the corner, just use the switching hook. Is it that hard? :O
I meant the other tricks, not the darknut trick.

First, sorry for the slow progress. Homework and school are taking much of my time right now. Next, to Tompa: speak n00bish. I may not be one, but half the time I can't understand what the hell you're saying sorry X( Lastly, about the Darknut switch: Holy shit that's awesome! Can it be done with enemies other than Darknuts? And can it be done side to side? And do you need the Lv-2 Hookshot?

Fatalies would be a no-go for this run, assuming whoever does this run is going for overall time. It would be quicker to just kick the guy once down to the ground, round over. I think MK4 (or any fighter of the sort, like Soul Calibur, Street Fighter etc.) would make for a rather boring run to go for speed, since unlike, say, Pit Fighter, there are ring-outs so then the goal would be to get the fastest ringout. Also the actual moves are more than a few frames long so there could be no insanely fast combos like in Pit Fighter. It would be better optimally to TAS something like Shaq-Fu. As lame as the game may be, at least it has a storymode (of a sort).

I liked your first 230 run of OoT, but there are a few questions about the next run that I have 1. Which is faster - backwalk or sidehop? You seemed to alternate between the two at will during the first run. 2. It IS possible to backwalk-sidehop in Link's house right at the beginning. Why do you roll instead? 3. The Kokiri shop needs some work. At least some rolling (if backwalking interferes)? 4. Why don't you skip King Zora with a groundjump? Why go through the whole cinematic sequence of him moving his big fat ass so you can go through? Is that way faster somehow? 5. Is it possible to store GJs with a Bombchu? If so, wouldn't it be quicker to stand in front of a wall, set a bombchu down, raise your shield etc.? and one last question not concerning the run 6. Recently saw the Adult Deku Tree run...is it possible to get inside the Deku Tree as an adult without using Gameshark's moonjump cheat? Or am I missing something as a way to do it legitimately besides groundjumping? Elitist answers are allowed; flaming is not kthnx (.

I'm switching to an Oracle of Ages damage run. I hope maybe, in a "coincidental" move, that the Ages/Seasons runs could be submitted at the same time, and (if they're good enough) published at exactly the same time. )
You DO know there is a run of this already don't you? Are you suggesting an improvement? If you are, I'm with you on that. Someone who has enough motivation to do this properly should definitely have a go at it. I'm sure there is lots to improve in Sleepz's old Famtasia run.
Being a total Zelda 1 n00b, I thought that Sleepz' run was the first quest *bangs forehead repeatedly on the table until it turns blue and eventually falls off*

I'm proposing this, not running it, because I'm currently working on other projects at the moment. I would like to see a TAS of the second quest of Legend of Zelda 1 by entering "ZELDA" as the username. Hope someone will do this!

Man, I love this game! Since I've been bested for the first OoS TAS I've focused on doing a no-damage, 3-heart run which should be fun to do (it's always fun to do when you have limits and need extra strategies to work around them). Hopefully this "minimalist" run will get published, possibly have it under 2:05 (taking damage could put it under 2 hours, but again, I love limits!). I'll update as I go. Currently only up to finishing Hero's Cave, but I'm not on my regular PC now, so I can't submit. Will soon.

Alright folks. Sorry for the lack of updates; I've been in Magog (Quebec) for the past week, so I haven't been able to update the run at all. Still slaving away at Duckburg 1. Lots of fun, I'll tell ya *shot*.

There are a few small mistakes, such as: - forgetting to run when crawling to and from the first lightning orb - using double-jump before landing on a mushroom, causing you to wait longer to hit the mushroom than if you'd repositioned yourself earlier to not need the double jump - not using double-jump when it would allow you to land earlier, such as after hitting the last mushroom in the first level - inconsistent-looking decisions of when to jump or double-jump on the rising logs
I will definitely take those mistakes into consideration into my second run, which is the one I will attempt to publish. This run that I am working on now is a test run, mistakes and all, and open for discussion as to how to optimize the game for the second run. However, I still appreciate your comments. EDIT: I'm fooling around with the second zone at the moment, Duckburg. It's quite confusing, and the first with multiple paths, so optimization will be fun. YAY!

After jumping around from game to game, I've settled on this Rayman Advance clone. The cursing duck continues the tradition of Disney games not made by Capcom. It's perfectly suited for TASing: Donald Duck has a "Rage Mode" that allows him to go at insane speeds, plus the animation and fights are downright WACKY. I would describe this game as a combo of Rayman Advance, Crash Bandicoot and your typical Genesis platformer. Here's a WIP after completing the first zone, Duckie Mountain: - 24,629 frames long (6:50) - 438 rerecords

Because this is a game that's so bad it's good. Especially when it's pwned *shot*. Anyway, just discovered that, despite its crapiness, the ATB system does allow misses. That means I now have to do a NO-DAMAGE run of this epic piece of crap. Yay for epic pieces of crap! Currently luck manipulating my first "real" battle with a Big Dog, just after getting the second dagger and giving it to Sam. EDIT: Scratch that. The ATB system here is messed up and you can't dodge every time. Just not possible.

Well, I've given up on Crash Bandicoot for a while and decided to take up my luck on the GBA RPG version of the first of Tolkien's books. The number of bugs and glitches in the game should makes this fun to time-attack. Here's a WIP of what I have so far, just after getting the second walking stick in the Shire. Comments would be appreciated.

Found this interesting game and decided to TAS it for the highest score possible, with all the moles killed in each level (except the mole dolls). Here's a WIP to the end of level 2. (NB: Luck manipulation is impossible for Arcade Mode; it has a set system of moles)

Sorry mate, gonna have to give this run a NO vote. It's a brilliant run, but...it's just not good from an entertainment standpoint. Most of the run is just dialog advancement and that infamous "LEVEL UP...LEVEL UP...LEVEL UP...LEVEL UP...LEVEL UP..." etc. etc. etc. uknowwhatimeanamirite. I like speedruns that actually show the plot; that's why I don't appreciate runs like Aria of Sorrow, where each line takes about two frames and I have to go frame by frame to understand what the hell is going on. That's also why I did appreciate your last COTM run, because I could follow the plot (somewhat) and still be awed by your mad perfect reflex skills. Anyway, it's good, but it's not entertaining. I like your 22 minute run better because there was actually stuff going on there. Sorry bout that, but it's the truth, man.

This is another update which ends partially into Star to Finish. I'm stumped as to how to get to Yellow Gem in this level. According to my guide which I picked up, "Where the spinner is next to the stack of nitros, use it to spin left and land on the circular platform." This is where my run ends, and despite using this technique, I have not been able to grab onto a platform of any kind. Some help might be appreciated (revision: will definitely).
