Masterjun definitely. His AGDQ SMW1 run was so good it kicked my ass into last week, thus why I'm voting for 2013 ;)

Definitely have to go with [2411] GC Resident Evil 4 by SoulCal in 1:35:29.67 on this one.

[2411] GC Resident Evil 4 by SoulCal in 1:35:29.67 and [2376] GC Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg "all levels" by STBM & iongravirei in 2:38:33.47. Such diametrically opposing movies in terms of atmosphere, goals and speed, but these two were some of my favourites of any console this year. If submissions count, then Malleoz, CoolKirby & Masterjun's GC Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in 4:52:30.72 should definitely be in there. Or would that be for next year? Either way, it deserves at least some recognition!

[2427] DS Super Scribblenauts "playaround" by Chef Stef, Kiwisauce in 1:01:52.63 Any playaround that can make dead lions the funniest thing on Earth deserves this award for now and forever.

I second the vote on [2391] PSX Crash Bandicoot (Japan) by pirohiko in 36:19.85. That was absolutely incredible stuff, especially the encode which shows the complexity of the D-pad wiggling. Exceptional work!

By the way, Spikestuff, since you're doing the final encode, what do you think of my idea to add post-processing to the audio to imitate the game's echoing sound?

I think the screenshot @ 2:59 in the video. As Tails is walking away from the explosion of the rockets would be a great screenshot :) Yes vote.
And/or it turn it into a "haters gonna hate" gif.

The "fast-forward" encode is processing now, and will be uploaded in the morning (my time).

This is seriously the funniest run I've seen on the site since Family Feud. An extremely enthusiastic yes vote from yours truly! I give this run 9.5 dead lions out of 10.

Through further testing I've managed to narrow down the problem. It's the specific combination of Dual Analog and SRAM that causes the crash. Dual Analog on a clean memory card does not cause a crash. Actually, make that ANY type of SRAM movie with Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions [SLUS-00957] Regardless, someone get on this ASAP ;_;

I'm having some serious issues with 2.0.2. sv1, especially where Dual Shock emulation and SRAM are concerned. I have used a verification movie to clear all the Practice mode areas of Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (since they're almost identical to the later Time Attack modes) and then attempted to create an SRAM movie with the memory card after saving it. When using SRAM and having Dual Shock Emulation checked, the movie will do one of two things: crash when attempting to replay it, or desync within the first 2000 frames. Every time.

Or Carcinogen :P Yes vote, absolutely. I've been following this project since day 1 and I'm super hyped to see it on the site.

Oh look, it's the legendary Vibrating Bandicoot of the Australian Outback! I've only heard tales of such a creature, but to see one up close.... Easy yes vote!

At first I boked at the humongous file size of RGamma's encode, but in the end I chickened out and gave it a yoke. Let me tell you, as I sat poached on the edge of my chair, this run completely fried my brain, scrambling my sense of logic and leaving me sunny side up for the rest of the day. Yes vote.

Would the Gamecube version be faster? There's those pipes you can shoot that can cut the PAL key time down. But, would the bugs still be in? Can Dolphin properly work? That being said, take that Hideo! That's for MGS2.
Twin Snakes is more or less a completely different game from Metal Gear Solid. It may use the same level design, but listing every single difference would take far more energy than I have at the moment. That being said, the current Big Boss speedrun record for Twin Snakes is only about a minute faster than this TAS (talking in-game time here, not the input). It could probably be taken down to sub-1 in a TAS. Maybe.

You know this wasn't nearly as idiotic as I thought it would be. Still voting no because it's not a Mega Man 1-6 combo flying hack run.
