Im currently testing to see if I can produce a good run for this game. One question for Arc, how did you make the first zombie to appear near the first grave? I have tried starting the game a few frames later to manipulate luck and also tried moving forward once the game have started a bit later without any luck. I think the two basic things you only need to know about this run is to try avoiding jumping and shooting because they slow you down a bit. (By the way, I could not find this thread and therefore created this. If there already is one, please remove my post there).

Not sure what he did, but you could always watch his movie and turn input display on and frame display and see what he pressed during whichever frame.

i think both runs should be played differently, like i suggested on the snes one. try pacifist on one, and all out speed on the other, or something different, since pacifist in this game is impossible.

Now that I think about it more, it would be really interesting to see whether the exact same input at the exact same frames would give a different result in Famtasia than in FCEU. It might give an idea of how big a difference there can be between the two emulators.

I'll tell you what, I will post a.s.a.p of my test WIP for this game and if you would like, you could give me feedback and to determine if I should stop or not depending on how well you do. I haven't decided if Im going to give this run a 100% shot, its just fun doing a testrun for this game as its pretty challenging and fun.

Hey Arc and others. Here is my test WIP for level 1. What do you guys think? Is it ok? Am I too much behind? I reached the conclusion that you neither gain or lose any frames when you get hit, in other words, its equally fast to not get hit and get hit. Im sure Arc will find flaws in my testrun. Note that I had a lot more liberty to do more stuff compared with my regular knife. Here is My Test WIP

It looks like it's about equal with the Famtasia run so far. Level 2 and thereafter is a lot more difficult though. And I have a few new plans. I think taking the flame early is a mistake. Its lack of range is a problem.

Yes but as you saw in my test wip, I did not have any problem handling it. In fact, as I stated before, it is in some cases more convenient. Edit:

How can you make the shield appear in Level 4 on the bridge? Ive killed the demon so many different ways and done different jumps and such.

You have to play through the game twice in order to see the ending and 'officially' finish it. The current TAS on the site for this game only plays through once.

Just saw your WIP G'Bowl. Interesting and quite good route. I only got one concern, did you test for the first boss to stand closer or to jump towards it as you are shooting at it so your shots will connect quicker? I think it should be slightly faster, no?

Ok, after being stuck for a long time, I finally solved the level-2 double-boss battle. I'm using the torch instead of the javelin, because I've found that there's a particular area at which it leads to noticeable time-saving. But, a consequence is that it was very difficult to match Guano's speed and range with the javelin against the two bosses at the end of level 2. I finally found a strategy that defeated them 3 frames faster than Guano did. After two levels, I'm 193 frames (3.2 sec) ahead of the current movie. I have an idea for improving level 3, although it might not work. Level 6 also might have a notable improvement.

Level 3 is done. My plan for improving level 3 worked. I'm 397 frames (6.62 sec) faster than the published movie.
