I don't know if there's any bugs to be exploited here, but I know it's got better visuals and sound. Any takers?

You mean RockMegaManWorld? Finalfighter got excited of it when I mentioned him about Gens. Who knows if his next project after Rockman 2 will be that one. I disagree about "better sound" though.

I believe the title(s) you're looking for would be: Rockman: Mega World or Mega Man: The Wily Wars Something like that, anyways. It'd certainly be a long run. You have to beat all three games to access the final bit, if memory serves. Never managed that, personally. Stupid Crash Bomb boss. ~.~; Lotta weird things about the game, too. Like Blues' sprite not being redone, making him VERY TINY in comparison to everyone else. The firing speed was cranked down a bit, too... lotta little tweaks here and there - I think a differences FAQ exists over at Gamefaqs, actually. I wish good luck to anyone who goes for it, though. c.c

Here is a very comprehensive page of info about the game in question. Be sure to check out the entire site when you have the time--Ms. Paugh certainly has put a lot of effort into the whole thing... (Note: It seems the Pause/Resume trick doesn't work in MM1 for this game...)

One thing to note, the save system was flawed even when I was playing it back in the day on the Sega Channel. Either that, or I just don't know what button selected "Yes" to save, and which button canceled the save.

A disclaimer for the MMHP.. Mandi's gameplay information may be useful (I usually do not find it so) but her plot information is often flawed and should never be trusted as canon. A far better resource for the plot-end of things is the Megaman Network (formerly Mega.Man.X.Online and Megaman Outpost), even though Reeve is also occasionally completely wrong, and for gameplay or news information, Planet Megaman (which also has staffers that actually do know what they're talking about). Of course the best resources - Rockmanfreak and Rockman's Bible - require knowledge of Japanese.

Neither do the wrapping or ceiling tricks of Rockman 1 and 2.

Ick...I just played this game for the first time. Improved graphics, yes. But the entire game moves S...L...O...W...L...Y and the sound sucks. That, plus the removed glitches, make me wonder if there's a point to trying this game. But hey, if you try it, I'll watch.

Well, you can probably get a faster speed if you force it to run in NTSC, as I assume that you got "Wily Wars", which is a european game. Also, the only part of interest of this game would be the Wily Tower that you earn after having a savegame with all three MM games completed. Too bad saving doesn't work in the roms. But at least there's a savestate you can get to see how it works, found here: http://www.interordi.com/mega_man_pc/downloads/

To each his own...but could you explain what you mean by the plot information being flawed? I could understand if you're referring to some things being changed for the sake of her stories, but I think some clarification would help.

Her fanfiction is blatantly anti-canon (living machines? WTF?) but I generally have no problem with fanfiction that doesn't claim to be canon (Erico's fanfiction, however...). She even has a separate page for her fanfiction, so it doesn't get mixed in with canon. ..but her comments on plot, characters, and other things within the section of the site devoted to canon works shows a decided lacking. For one, she considers Captain N as canon. I don't think I need to say anything more, unless you want specific examples of her being completely and entirely wrong.

I did a run of the Megaman 1 on this game. It's absolutely terrible and I won't update it but if any of you want to see it just pm me.

Is it totally impossible to progress from one game to the next? At least on SNES and NES emulators it's possible to use "normal" saves. It would be interesting to see a run through the entire game despite its slowness... Just one thing, what the hell were they thinking when they remixed the music???

Wouldn't you have to make four seperate recordings, since you can't save? One for all three, then a fourth for the extra bosses and such?

But how would you record the Wily Tower, if you have to use a savestate to get to it? Considering the way rerecording works, the movie would go out of sync as soon as you load the state to play it.

Oops, I was a bit confused. I thought Gens had a "record from here" function.

I've decided to start on this game. Here are my times. Mega Man 1 Gutsman -- 7234 frames -- 2:20 Elecman -- 17284 frames -- 5:45 Cutman -- 24004 frames -- 8:00 However, there is about 13 seconds before you actually get to the game itself, and also the pause glitch doesn't work for attacking enemies. It does work for other things, though, which is quite useful. And also, you can't fire the 3 shots as quickly as possible, there is a pause between them which is really annoying.

Not bad for starters. However, there evidently are glitches to be exploited, as evidenced by your rapid movement in the Cutman stage. I would explore that further for your next version. There are an awful lot of unneccesary hits taken and unnecessary shots fired. Why waste Magnet Beam at the end of Wily 1 and then refill it later?

The only wasted shots were those magnet beams in Wily 1, and could you do me a favor and kick me real hard in the pants? I cannot believe I let that slip. I will cancel my submission and redo it from there, because that was just stupid of me. All hits I took were timed so that it was faster to get hit there than to wait for an oppurtunity to go by unharmed. Also, other than those stupid magnet beam shots at Wily 1, no other shots were wasted. Regarding that glitch, it only works in special situations, and it doesn't even save time in all of them. A lot of times it helped to either save the magnet beam (which is needed to do the glitch) or to just play through the spot normally because it was faster that way. Also, when stuck in walls, I have only discovered how to go left, so that also limits the places where it can be used.

It can be done: Record a movie of you reaching Wily Tower (Take your time) Make a savestate Check the framenumber of the savestate (In play movie dialog box) Edit the framenumber in the savestate to 0 (Around offset 0x22478, 4 bytes long) Trim movie data for earlier frame (for exemple, if the savestate is frame 200, then trim byte 65 to 664) Resume record from savestate Also "Record new movie from savestate" could be added in future version...

I'm working on Version 2 right now, and so far it's 6.4 seconds faster after beating Gutsman.

Maybe you could try doing all the games on the cartridge (including the wily tower if you wait for a while after the credits possibly, i've never done it myself).

I'm working on it, but I want to perfect each game at a time, and right now I'm only on Megaman 1.
