What how do you do it? Im not gonna use it (obviously) but i like finding new glitches for this game.mhey,a way to skip the entire cave level would be awesome! ... But probably not likely. Yeah i know about the boost from the sponge dive. The stop cant be helped, but you can switch characters to regain control again. Be sure to jump so you skip the animation from switching, though, or else it will have been pointless. You can also switch characters while falling to avoid damage from the fall

Uh, i cant really find out how to get the ram watch addresses for new games. Could someone do that for me (not that ill really need it) if you want to see them? I tried looking at how to do it and i think i fried a neuron in my brain.
You might want to read the Wiki: Ram Search article. About hard mode, are you sure that it only affects minigames and does not have any subtle changes in the level layout? Things like additional enemies and what not. Those changes can be difficult to spot. Are you using frame advance to carefully examine the collision response system and general physics? You really need to determinate exact values for things like character speeds, animation lengths and such. We are dealing with precision work here. Finally, I am not going to compile your various tips for you, please collect them into one big text that I can review.[/wiki]

The game is 3d, so finding ram addresses for positions would be annoying. Also, I can't seem to start in "hard" mode. The game doesn't have that option when I started it.

Did you go see gary? Im always able to turn on hard mode when i start playing. Btw gary is in spongebobs house. And yes, it only applies to mini games. With how much i play, i think id be able to notice that sort of thing. Also, the wiki doesnt work --'

Let me guess. Hard mode is either an unlockable or you have to waste time going to Gary the snail. In that case, since I'm starting without a save, it doesn't matter.

Well, if its only for minigames, I think its kinda pointless. Also, here's the input file for the glitch I mentioned. Link to video

Uh...that's the glitch. It not only force you into patrick, but since you haven't used spongebob to bring up the bridge, you're basically stuck there as you can't switch back to spongebob.

How would resetting help? It takes too long to get back to the game once you reset. :/

I did a run recently, and my time was 1:37:28.9. Its not my best time (i made a few mistakes), but i found some more time savers. Also, with what I'll be able to do on the emulator that I can't do on a real DS (like predicting the code for Sandy's level in atalantis), I think it'll be a good run. What say you?

Well, it's a good test run, but if you made mistakes and found shortcuts, it would be a good idea to start over, making sure to optimize everything. Unless you wanted to use that run for your verification movie, which would be a good idea since it's a relatively fast full playthrough.

Hm.... I have an idea. Let's both TAS this game, but you'll do the squidward run while I do the new game run. That way, we can compare the runs later on to see which one is faster. Edit: Found an invincibility glitch; Makes enemies unable to kill you. I'll post it later.

I was talking about on my real ds. --' i still have to wait a few more days before i can play games for real. (i was on a trip, so i was temporarily allowed, so yeah.) just a few slips of my finger is all. Also, i couldnt use that as my verification movie since i didnt start from the clean save. I used squidward

Ok cant wait to see what youve got and an invincibility glitch? Oooooo, but theres an invincibility difficulty, so pretty pointless for me. Also, try the any character anywhere glitch in your run. It could help ya!

Guess what? I started working on my verification movie today! Im up to bikini bottom downtown section 2 (stupid emulator lag) and im using read+write as i go, so dont worry. I just dont have a lot of time on my hands with school back in and all, so thats why i use the read+write feature, not for any optimization, yet.

That's good. No reason to optimize your verification movie.

Yeah. Still gotta get used to the "new" control configuration though :p i may need the optimization for my real run ONLY for that reason :P
