Guano, please proceed as usual. If you're waiting until day in Hyrule Castle, please do so and continue on to Segment Three. If there is a change to the route, I'll update you before you make your final run. ============================================ Regarding the SG skip, here are the facts: * Spirit up to getting Bombchus is approx. 3'30" * The entire child portion of Spirit takes 7'30" * Skipping SG requires getting the bomb bag in DC, which takes approx. 2' * Getting the Goron's Bracelet is a 1'30" diversion. * Getting the bomb bag means skipping Bombchu Bowling, a 1' diversion. However, you also need explosives in Hyrule Castle and Jabu, meaning that there are two options: 1) Dodongo needs to be done before Jabu and Hyrule Castle. However, the fastest route to Dodongo involves explosives. Talking to the guard with the letter takes around 1' (?) and there is some redundancy in climbing up and then falling back down to DC. 2) Spirit should be done up to getting Bombchus.

Couldn't you logically 'fill in the blanks' with bombchus for where you'd otherwise require bomb plants from using the goron bracelet?

Not all bomb flowers can be replaced by bombchus, if that's what you mean. You need bomb flowers to open the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern and to damage King Dodongo. Bombchus are not an appropriate substitute in those cases.

You can do that with bombchus.

Well, I started from Queen Ghoma. I used a stick on her and now I ony used 1 backwalk to get from the deku tree entrance to the forest exit saving like 3-4 seconds of getting the blue rupee!!! With this new strategy in mind about the Spirit Temple, I can learn the RoS from whats-his-face, then go back in and get the bombchus then die right after. This would save 1 bomb from hitting the wall and be saved for a better place. Until someone can verify the best/fastest route from the new SG skip, Ill wait for some answers. Just to see if a better strat can be found. If I shall proceed to Guerdo, after talking to the owl, should I not touch the walls after jumping off the higher ground? I can find a direction after jumping down that will minimize the wall touches and see what frame it go to Guerdo Valley at then try a different method. Day and Night Time will be saved at these locations: -Walk to Guerdo Valley: ~1 second(if new way is found) -Inside Guerdo Valley: ~4 seconds if I ride the edge of the plank, backwalk after grabbing the chicken, then find an angle to go up the stairs in to backwalk straight into the Desert. -Walk to Spirit Temple: ~2 1/2 seconds from the sidehopping. If day and night time is ticking in the Prison area, then I can save about ~1/2 a second from better manuvering from climbing up the ladder. If SG is skipped, then time saved from inside the Spirt Temple will be ~3-5 minutes from cutscenes and the battle with Iron Knuckle. If my estimates are horribly wrong, please correct them.

Whoa there...why are you restarting this far back? If this is a testrun, just continue onwards to Segment 3. You don't need to get everything perfect the first time around, and you want to find out if anything doesn't go as planned in the remainder of the route. This is particularly important. I'm currently leaning towards keeping the route as is. Quite frankly I don't see how skipping th SG will save any time. You need to get bombs in DC and that is another 5' diversion. Unless someone can offer a convincing explanation for why getting bombs and skipping SG is faster, I'll keep the current route.

Why not get the bombchus, die and then continue from the forest? Cant the trick be pulled off with a bombchu? I think it can.

Acryte found a way to skip Mido and he made a vid, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qn1hEtPcrQ I thought it would be best to let you know as soon as possible.

Hmm, it said the video was removed, the link right above. Anyway, I'll look into the SDA topic now. Edit: This link works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLSDZ0VhmLU Wow, that was WAY too easy. I tried doing bomb groundjumps there, but apparently the real answer was a lot easier.

Brilliant, isn't it? The updated route is up, and there are no changes until segment three. You learn the Requiem and collect the Silver Gauntlets as usual. In segment three, you skip Saria's Song entirely as a child and backflip over Mido in the Lost Woods as an adult. Look here for details: http://mwlin.freehostia.com/wiki/index.php?title=TAS/Speed (Thanks, Yautja. Didn't notice that :P)

I'm not sure how you can use my Hyper boosts to your advantage... When you get there the moblin is standing in the wrong place. :/

Nice Mido skip. I wonder if it works in the beginning as well (but I'm sure that's what everyone else thought, too).

Okay, I compared my desynch movie with my new one, and instead of the previous frame 83990 it was 84005. Now my new one lost some frames but in the same state it is at 84025. So I lost 20 frames but I dont know how? I thought I took a fast(er) route than last but nonetheless its better than my previous WIP

Oh, and before I forget, find a good place to get 50 Rupees (20 for fishing and 30 for bombchu bowling.) If you could somehow get all three red rupees from the Anubis in Spirit to appear outside the fire, that would be great. Has anyone figured out what to do to get rid of the long pause in loading the status screens? Copy framebuffer to RAM or something?

Yes, I do agree that loading the status screen is somewhat slow. Slower than if you played the game on a platform. Another way is not to enter the status screen one too many times - only swapping things out when deemed aboustely necessarcy. That should minimize the "lag" you get when you enter the status screen. Eh, that's just me.
