Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom

It is the 25th century. You as the space pilot Buck Rogers are in the middle of a battle for Planet Zoom. A battle of life and death, because your biggest enemy is the hostile carrier spaceship. But before you meet it you will have to use your abilities against electrically loaded posts, alien spaceships and space-hoppers. And always take care of your fuel consumption, as a smash on Planet Zoom will always end in a loss of one of your spaceships. The faster you fly, the less fuel you need. When you have destroyed the carrier spaceship, your fuel will be refilled.

Effort In TASing

As usual, I did this TAS all the way through to get a bench Mark. Learning many techniques, during the first time through, I went back and applied them to a 2nd round of effort. Sadly, I had to do this entire run a full 3rd time, after I realized how to speed up the Boss fights.

Difficulty and Ending Choice

There is no difficulty selection for the C64 version. The level increases, as the game progresses. With this version, the highest level of difficult is Level 5 (As stated in the manual). There after, it repeats the same level...yet the level indicator increases.

Human Comparison (WR, but done on Level 1)

DrD2k9: Claiming for judging.
DrD2k9: Looks good. Accepting.
Note to Publisher: The input file in this submission syncs on all 3 versions of the game in our database. From what I can tell, all three of them appear to be the same ROM with the exception of the game name within the ROM header itself being different. Any of the 3 can likely be used for encoding/publication.

despoa: Processing...

I'd love to see a TAS of the arcade machine this game was originally released as. Or the Atari 2600/VCS port, which is arguably a harder version of the game given it has a bug where the fuel timer starts counting down at the start of a new level before you can even move!

Who knows...i might get around to it eventually.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX
