The objective in this short 1994 game is to move through a forest and help Little Red Riding Hood. There is a Japanese 1.0 and an English 1.1 version. Here is a map I made: There are two ways to complete the game. You can either go to the exit right away. The game doesn't require you to help Little Red Riding Hood in order to end it. But that's kinda lame... Or you follow this path:
1) Talk to Rabbit 2) Talk to Old Man 3) Get Red Fruit 4) Go to Grandma's House 5) Talk to Mountain Cat 6) Go to Grandma's House --> You will be transported to the exit.
You can save and load in this game. There are random enemy encounters that happen after you've taken a certain number of steps. Savegames will remember the steps, but it seems once you get a game-over and reload, the steps will be different.

This was one of my childhood games that I didn't rediscover until last year! It felt a lot bigger when I was a kid, haha. the Engrish was very charming. There's also a sequel (and possibly there are even more sequels but I didn't find them when I searched): https://archive.org/details/JFORE2 EDIT: The fact that these are 'vol 2' and 'vol 3' implies a *prequel* exists? Hmm... EDIT 2: I see, there's more Jiji games on archive in Japanese: https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A%22Jiji%27s+Adventure%22 Mobygames also has its own list: https://www.mobygames.com/group/13784/jijis-adventure-series/ So there's a hand drawn chapter 3, an even older arkanoid clone, a hand drawn sidescroller, and a hand drawn 'bospider clone' for lack of a better term. Very adorable!

The "good ending" run is currently submitted and sitting on the workbench. Now made a bad ending run: Link to video Well, I just took the "good ending" run and changed it to head to the exit right away. Nothing special. Only having two encounters is pretty great even in this short version. I will submit this only if requested.
