I'm not sure if this is the right thread or not, but every time I try to download a TAS to watch it by Emulator, I end up getting some kind of error message. It's happened to me with the Breath of Fire II submission file and now the E.V.O. submission file. This is the error I get. Access blocked because of missing/unacceptable referrer information.

If you have Norton Internet Security disable your firewall. It's blocking the referrer field in your browser.

I have Comcast McAfee, and it never gave me this kind of trouble until after I had my Brother do a full restore.

Perhaps the issue came up with a recent update, but that's the issue, something is stripping your requests of the referrer field. You need to make it quit doing that.

Don't do that! You don't want to disable your firewall simply because your browser is not sending referrers. Instead, configure your firewall to allow sending referrers (to tasvideos.org, if it allows doing it on a per-site basis). Or if it's your browser which is not sending referrers, configure it to send them (again, to tasvideos.org if you have a plugin which allows doing it on a per-site basis).

I'm going to have my Brother take a look at what's going on. If anyone can figure out how to do it without disabling my Firewall, he can. :3 Edit: Well, he couldn't figure it out either. It almost has to be Windows doing it, but he doesn't know exactly where or what. So I'll just have to wait for runs to be published to watch them for now, I guess. Re-edit: Well, apparently it's something going on with just my explorer, cause I can download the submission files from AOL.

I don't know if it is related but you have the same error if you try to download from http://www.tasvideos.org/ instead of http://tasvideos.org/

Aw, we're not no-www fascists any more? I believe Bisqwit had www.tasvideos.org going to a page admonishing people not to waste bandwidth lol.

I have done further testing. Go to page like http://www.tasvideos.org/1367M.html. Click on http://www.tasvideos.org/movies/vbm/ryuto-kaeru.zip BAM you get the infamous "Access blocked because of missing/unacceptable referrer information. See AccessBlocked for more information. /adelikat, <adelikat> " Refresh ! same error. Go to the url bar and click enter : BAM you can download (I am using OPERA 10.0) Very weird. Maybe opera is sending referrer when we push enter while in the url bar and not when we press F5

Actually, the opposite is true. It looks like Bisqwit was blocking direct links from any domain that wasn't http://tasvideos.org. But now we can use http://www.tasvideos.org so this is probably causing an issue.
You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

Good catch! I'll fix the webserver's config soon.
