Mega Man 2(J) Hack rom
fceu-rerecording-0.98.28
fcm Convert fm2 , fceux-2.1.4
Youtube : Rockman Deus Ex Machina TAS
nico : Rockman Deus Ex Machina TAS
This hack does not have item1 & 2 & 3 (rocket, etc.)
All change to
item1: temporary invincibility
item2: float
item3: jump higher
Using the delay scroll * 20 times
willy 6 stage boss changed to zero
HP very much
Action flexibility

FractalFusion: Yes, I'll judge this one.
FractalFusion: This hack hasn't received a good response so far. It is possible that doing the hard mode hack may change the response. Since Rockman no Constancy has been published on this site already, another hack, to be accepted, should stand out even more.
I'll reject this one.

Nach: Being that this is a hack, it doesn't qualify for the vault. The audience response wasn't good enough for it to be elsewhere.

I was definitely entertained, and the play looked quite optimal to me. Yes. I'm of the mind that a very good TAS that's fun to watch should be accepted.

In all honesty, I wasn't too impressed with the run. Which is a lot to say because even woabclf's Rockman L run (which was rejected) keptt my attention more. But I know I am a minority here. I don't know what's with that hack, but something about it isn't appealing to me. But it only concerns the hack, not the run. The run itself is good. Especially the use of special items. Due to the nature of my problem with the run, I refrain myself from voting, but I wanted to voice my opinion nonetheless. A few extra personal comments : I dislike a lot of the robot masters stage designs. I liked Wood Man's stage song (from an SNES game called Live-A-Live). I liked Dr.Wily stage 1 the most of the entire hack. While I know it's the fastest way to kill that boss, seeing the dragon die the same way in every hack gets redundant. Wily stage 2 boss was great. Wily stage 3 seemed fun to play. I didn't understand anything (in a good way) about Wily stage 4. Actual, I changed my mind. I vote yes for publication. The Dr.Wily levels are really good. I just found the robot master levels a bit "meh".
I lurk, okay?

I liked this hack. Nice that they changed the final boss. I think the TAS was well executed. Nothing really to complain about. Giving this one a yes-vote. Thanks.

I didn't thoroughly test this game, but I think this movie can be improved. Better lag management, better boss fights, and perhaps better strategy in general when there's a lot of enemies around. In any event though, I think this hack isn't that great, nor did I find the run of it entertaining. Very strong no vote.

I had a look at this one. There were some neat differences (item-x differences, final boss), but it doesn't stand out from what we already have. It seems slow for whatever reason (possibly due to lack of conventional item-x), and the scrolling glitch became annoying after a while. I heard there is a hard version of this hack that involves changes to damage recoil and recovery. Perhaps doing that would be even better, but I can't guarantee it. I'll vote no.

Voted yes, although I still prefer the NC run over DEM. I think a DEM+NC simultaneous run would be interesting to watch. (similar to X+X2, or 3+4+5+6). sample: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1595529

It's kinda sad that so many of woabclf's runs get rejected. Perhaps it's time to move on to other games?

Even though this has been moved to the gruefood section, is someone still willing to throw up an encode?

Very late, but I'll be doing one. Question: MKV or MP4?

When I saw the words Deus Ex I got excited. But it's just another Mega Man game. Yes vote.

I appreciate the HQ encode, Aktan. However, I noticed that the movie throws in a pause (one frame?) everytime a screen transition occurs (whether horizontal or vertical). ie 14:13-14:15 in Crashman's stage, or 19:03-19:05 in Wily Castle 2 I noticed this in the Rockman 2 (non-hacked) TAS mp4 encode as well, which I noted in that thread. I'm using Media Player Classic HC v1.4.2689.0 to watch these videos, if that makes any difference.

You need to update your codec and/or demuxer and/or settings in MPC-HC. Haali Media Splitter: http://haali.su/mkv/MatroskaSplitter.exe ffdshow: http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=5554&s=50 MPC-HC setting:

FFFFFFFFFFFF- Even after updating my codecs and downloading the files you linked to, I still get those strange pauses. (Curiously enough, the pauses are much less noticable when using Windows Media Player. I don't even know anymore.) Thanks again for the encode, Aktan!

Curious, does VLC work fine for you then? I would like to find the cause of this problem. I'm wondering if something else is demuxing the MP4 in place of Haali's Media Splitter. You should see an icon for Haali's Media Splitter when you play the file as well as the ffdshow icon. While playing the file, if you right click the video and goto filters, could you list what you see there?
