Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master is a high class platformer with amazing graphics and sound. You control the ninja Musashi, who in this update has many new moves and abilities. He begins the game armed with 0 shurikens, but apparently someone felt the need to leave some conveniently in his way to use.
This run is a 36.83 second improvement to the predecessor movie and it features lots of entertaining tricks and time-saving glitches. See the authors' notes for a detailed overview.

In The Revenge of Shinobi, the prequel to Shinobi III, you play as a ninja (what else?) who is capable of destroying an entire army of other ninjas, soldiers, and Hollywood characters. The fast attack animation of the ninja (one of which throws fireballs everywhere) makes up for his lack of speed.
In this run, CoolHandMike beats 48.21 seconds thanks to lots of new glitches and a new ceiling clip.

Ninja Spirit began life as an arcade game and received many ports, including a Game Boy version and this version. It would be a stock platform game but for the ability to have up to two 'spirits' which behave like the options from Gradius.
In this run, CoolHandMike and EZGames69 complete the PCE mode of the game, saving 00:49.76 seconds over the previous run. Time savings within each level often result from lag reduction, which requires strategic routing, weapon usage, and enemy manipulation. The authors' comments provide details.
