In Bubble Bobble, two magical, bubble-blowing dinosaurs (Bub and Bob) fight through an evil, deep forest in order to rescue their kidnapped dinosaur friends.
This movie features one... no, wait, six players controlling two characters simultaneously while smashing the previous time by 2 minutes and 41 seconds. However, this publication chooses to use warps.

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure is a sequel to an old Atari game and shares a concept similar to its predecessor: Get through the jungle alive and fight something at the end.
There is also a run of the Genesis version of the game, which has two additional levels.
This movie has an Atlas Map encode of the Ceiba Jungle stage, which shows the standard encode overlaid on a zoomed out map.

Note: If you decide to watch this run in snes9x, you may notice that the movie's reported CRC does not match that of the (U) ROM of the game. You can ignore this mismatch; the movie plays just fine.

Skyblazer (1994) is a relatively obscure gem of a platformer released for SNES, featuring quite decent music and visuals among other things.
Following the game's truly original plot, Sky, a cocky young hero, has to free a princess sorceress kidnapped by an evil deity Ashura. In order to do so, he must traverse a non-linear world, collecting various spells, abilities, and powerups on his way. Helping him is eloquently named Old Man, who teaches young Sky to memorize patterns — just after delivering another insult.
The game has numerous tricks and glitches that allow drastically cutting the time normally spent exploring the game's world, and you bet the author uses them well. See the submission comments for more information.

Super Castlevania IV is the first game in the Castlevania series for the SNES. In it, Simon Belmont, equipped with the ability to whip in 8 different directions, sets out to vanquish Dracula yet another time.
In this run, the authors, arukAdo, Bablo, Cardboard, and scrimpeh obsolete a seven year old movie by over a minute and a half by a different subweapon choice, new tricks and better optimization. For more details, as always, please see the authors' notes.
