Zook Man ZX4 (路克人ZX4) is a Game Boy Advance game by Vast Fame and the third known game in their Zook series. It is based loosely on the Rockman X games.
The game spans eight levels including an intro stage and a final boss rush. Several enemies are taken from Rockman X and Rockman 8, with the bosses being either recycled from previous Zook Hero games or being edits from other official Megaman games. The main character's design is based off of X.
This game was run as part of TASVideos' Dream Team Contest 6, and this TAS was built on a combination of multiple submissions of said contest - hence the high number of authors.

Ikaruga (2001) is a vertical shoot 'em up published and developed by Treasure as a spiritual successor to its earlier title, Radiant Silvergun (1998). It was first released on arcade machines, then eventually ported to Dreamcast, GameCube, XBLA, Android, and even Steam, thanks to the loyal following among the Western shoot 'em up fans. GameCube version was chosen for creation of this TAS as it provided both the most arcade-accurate port, and the most accurately emulated platform of those available at the time.
Ikaruga features a polarity mechanic wherein enemies can be black or white, shooting black or white bullets, respectively. Additionally, player ships themselves can switch between black and white: when white, ship absorbs white bullets and deals extra damage to black enemies, and vice versa. When enough bullets are absorbed, a powerful enemy-seeking attack can be unleashed. As such, typical gameplay consists of frequent polarity switching, chain-killing enemies, and absorbing bullets instead of dodging them; to capitalize on this, the author chooses to control both player ships in order to absorb as many bullets as possible, do more damage, and pick off escaping enemies without breaking a kill chain.
The goal of this TAS is to maximize the score. Ikaruga's scoring system mainly consists of color-based enemy chaining: killing three enemies of the same color in a row increases chain value, messing up the color sequence resets it. Absorbing bullets and lasers, speedkilling bosses, and having spare lives at the end are also significant score boosts—all of these are used in the TAS to the fullest extent. The final score is a massive 50,230,200, only attainable with two players.

Ikaruga has been extensively competed in both Western and Asian gaming communities, leading to publication of an official superplay DVD, as well as blessing us with many amazing feats of unassisted gameplay. If you've enjoyed this TAS and would like to see what some of the best human players have to offer, make sure to watch VTF-INO's unassisted doubleplay, in which the player attempts to achieve maximum score by controlling both ships in realtime; also check out RNA's flawless stage 5 boss fight done solo, and Sa Suisai's full-game unassisted playthrough on Normal difficulty, executing some inhumanly precise chains on the XBLA version of the game.

Sega's Super Monkey Ball lets you take control of one of four monkeys trapped inside a transparent ball. You must complete each stage by tilting the game level to roll your monkey forward or backward. There are 100 stages ranging in difficulty from easy to near impossible.
In this TAS, the authors skip all the easy levels and warp to the Expert stages, where they proceed to tear through all 50 levels as well as the 10 Master stages, breaking many of the heavily optimized console world record times.

Axiom Verge, released in 2015, is a 2D Metroidvania platform shooter centered around the protagonist Trace, a scientist who, after an experiment gone wrong, finds himself on the world of Sudra, separated from Earth by a deadly void called the Breach. By the time Trace arrives on Sudra he finds both the world and its civilization collapsed due to the release of a certain pathogen in the act of biological warfare. With the help of the Rusalki — giant war machines that guard this world — Trace has to uncover the truth behind the fall of Sudra, confront the perpetrator behind it, and return back to his home world across the Breach.
The game takes heavy inspiration from early Metroid games and some other platformers of the era and employs a number of unconventional — and at times very creative! — storytelling and gameplay design decisions, and is all-around well-made and received accordingly. If you enjoy action platformers or exploration-driven games with a solid sci-fi plot, playing through Axiom Verge is highly recommended before watching the TAS, especially considering the latter 1/4 of it (as well as the 4th boss fight, which is a major mindscrew moment in the story) might become incomprehensible otherwise.
keylie rushes through the game's speedrun mode (which shows an in-game timer and disables all cutscenes) in 28:05.59 by the in-game timer, picking up 15% of items. Boss times: 02:26.52 (Xedur), 05:39.17 (Telal), 11:06.27 (Uruku), 18:25.55 (Vision), 21:09.20 (Ukhu), 26:27.07 (Sentinel).

TowerFall Ascension is an updated release of the arrow-based single-screen arena fighting game TowerFall, which was originally released on the failed Ouya console. It builds upon the original game with a new cooperative quest mode for one or two players. Played in a normal or a hardcore difficulty mode, it offers different levels selected from a large map where different types of enemies need to be killed in multiple rounds to progress. The game also features trials, where a player has to shoot down all targets as fast as possible.
keylie completes all 48 trials, including the ones featured in the Dark World expansion, in a record in-game time of 1 minute and 13.842 seconds.
NOTE: There is no audio during the splash screen (the "Matt Makes Games" screen), the rest of the game does have audio. The movie file is also at 1000 FPS (meaning libTAS tells the game that it runs on a virtual 1000 Hz monitor), while the primary encodes are at 60 FPS, as encodes at 1000 FPS cannot be reliably played back. The secondary encodes are played at 24% speed (240 FPS), which preserves all of the frames (except for the YouTube encode).

Völgarr the Viking is a video game released by Crazy Viking Studios in 2013, inspired by old arcade games like Ghosts 'n Goblins or Rastan. Players take the role of the titular Völgarr, risen from the dead and commanded by Odin to find and slay the greedy dragon Fáfnir. The game has minimal presentation and story, having no formal title screen or opening menu and no cutscenes or dialogue. It has a high level of challenge and a deliberate pacing, expecting the player to proceed with caution and learn the layouts of each level, playing each through multiple times until they are mastered. It also encourages speedrunning, including a speed runner HUD option, as the game uses very few randomized elements and has many options for increasing the speed a player can get through a level.
There are two paths available after beating Stage 1, namely the Crystal path, where difficulty gradually rises, eventually reaching its peak in the Tower, and where the player has infinite retries, and the Valkyrie path, where the player has a limited amount of retries (if one loses all retries on this path, the player is going to play the Crystal path variant of the same level) and generally much harder than the Crystal path. Doing a full Valkyrie path run is necessary to obtain the best ending, as it unlocks the true final stage as well as the true last boss.
keylie slices and dices through the Valkyrie path and obtains the best ending in record time.

Chrono Trigger is one of the most dearly loved games from the SNES library. In it, you play as Crono and set off on a journey through time to save the world from the villainous Lavos.
The game can be ripped apart in a matter of minutes through advanced save corruption techniques, but in this movie the author forgoes this exploit in order to play through more of the game, and does so in barely more than half the time of the last run in the same category. Don't expect this run-through to follow a coherent narrative any time soon, though — it still skips quite a lot of content.
