Obsoleting Movie
Published on 3/8/2015
This movie here is one that makes little to no sense to someone who isn't familiar with the game. The main character can move very fast and the dark graphics don't help in figuring out what's going on. There is a lot more going on in this movie than meets the eye. For example, the player uses a secret warp involving combining the alchemy potions that are scattered throughout the levels.
This improves the previous run of the game by 39.05 seconds through further optimizations.
For more information about what's going on in this game, we recommend reading the author's comments at the submission page and the one of the previous publication.
NOTE: Don't be fooled by the fake credits after the final level. The game is not quite over yet.

Chakan: The Forever Man is a fairly standard platform game in which you control a dead guy (Chakan has lost his soul) through many levels of hack and slash platforming. The ultimate goal is defeat all the bad-guys and so finally achieve inner-peace.
The story-line (if you can call it that) does give this game an interesting image and it is much darker than most other titles available on the Genesis.
This is a full completion run, which, compared to the any% branch, beats some additional levels and collects all items.
NOTE: Don't be fooled by the fake credits after the final level. The game is not quite over yet.

There are also the "Fire Dragon" powerups that act as single use ninja magic attacks that damage all enemies on-screen, which is the only ninja magic available to Sho.
