Without warning, the forces of Blue Moon mount an assault on the nation of Orange Star. Only Orange Star's new advisor, in collaboration with Orange Star's commanding officers, can stop them and get to the truth behind this sinister plot.
At least, that's what they'd normally do if they weren't capable of just magically compelling their opponents to surrender at the sight of them.
Using a glitch in the design maps mode of the game, this run by Kiske and mtvf1 completes the game impossibly quickly by forcing opponents to yield, allowing instant wins in the campaign missions. Alien Hominid is a 2D side-scrolling shooter with heavy references to the Metal Slug series of games - from the hand-drawn graphics, huge explosions, right down to the ability to eviscerate FBI Agents when you get up close to them. The graphics are by featured artist Dan Paladin. Your goal, is quite simply, to get to the end of the stage, and die as little as possible. Which is made difficult due to the fact that any bullet is an instant kill.
You control some sort of yellow alien with a gun. For whatever reason, he also has very Earth-like grenades with Earth-like explosions. He collides with some sort of satellite around Earth and crash-lands right in front of the FBI, who then runs off with his spacecraft and somehow forgets that bright yellow alien thing in clear sight. If you're looking for story, this isn't the game, as it just gives an excuse why you're doing these things.

The Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow main quest TAS has become even more glitched. Using an obscure out-of-room travel technique involving in-game saving and subsequent dying, klmz plows through the game with the confident pace of a cold-blooded killing machine in a little under seven minutes — a whole minute and 8.13 seconds faster than the previous movie by the same author!
We recommend reading the author's comments for more information on the death warp glitch and other time-saving techniques used to make this improvement happen.
If you would like to see more of the game, we also have a run that does not make use of major warp glitches, as well as a run that collects every soul in the game.

Nathan Graves is a vampire hunter trying to save his master, Morris, from the clutches of Dracula. Normally this would require collecting lots of different items as well as hours of leveling, but Cardboard proves collectible cards passé by gathering almost none of the cards required for spells and blazing through the game at warp speed without regard to levels or his own safety.
This movie is a 10.5 second improvement over the author's previous movie through various small & thorough optimizations.

When played normally, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is a rather long game, in which exploration, leveling up, and killing bosses in order to gain access to different items or portions of the castle is necessary. However, a bit of luck manipulation and a series of glitches involving DSS cards throw all these aspects of gameplay out of the window, allowing the player to warp directly to Dracula and kill him humiliatingly in just over 5 minutes.
This movie is a 227 frame improvement over the previous movie by klmz with some more optimizations.
Published on 12/11/2018

Normally using the DSS card system of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon grants abilities that one would not otherwise have access to. With a glitch, one can access these abilities anyways, making the DSS cards themselves mere collector's items. When placed under the control of klmz however, Nathan Graves proves himself to be an avid collector, abusing zips and other glitches to quickly go around the castle and obtain all the DSS cards and finish off Dracula in 19 minutes and 30 seconds.

In this movie, Juste Belmont zips through walls, under floors, and over zombies with the very important task of rearranging furniture. (He also defeats Dracula and rescues his best friends along the way, but that's not very important.)
This movie is a 06:34.27 improvement over its predecessor, thanks to several new improvements and optimizations.
Published on 7/19/2017

The main quest completion time has been shortened to nearly one sixth of what it initially was, thanks to the discovery of a glitch that allows Juste to sink into walls.
This is a 02:51.65 minute improvement over the previous movie.
The author has created an elaborate encode that shows the player's position on the map, contents of the game's memory, and hacks the camera to follow the character's movement more. It is available on YouTube, NicoVideo, and Bilibili.
However, if you still think there is not enough zipping through walls, be sure to watch the second quest completed in less than half a minute!

As one of the many video game adaptations of the Harry Potter series, this adventure game for the GBA sticks fairly closely to the plot of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone as Harry attends his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Despite the large number of adaptations out there, at the start of 2015 this is only the first Harry Potter game to receive a movie on TASVideos.
This game has gameplay and mechanics that differ from the Harry Potter games on any other console, and was notorious for its infuriating pit and platform puzzles, but in this movie it is hard to tell what all the fuss was about. With precise spell usage, a little enemy manipulation, and the aid of some prefects who clearly need an eye-test, the game is completed in a little under an hour.

This game's US release was translated as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, but the movie scenes that appear before each stage are captured from The Fellowship of the Ring.
Players take control of their favorite The Lord of the Rings character analog (Alice, Glenda, Jerry, Shredder, or Roger), and shoot their way through 8 enemy-infested locales (such as a desert full of cacti) that bear little resemblance to any place in the source material that the game is ostensibly based on. When a villain known only as Mr. Dark appears, trouble brews in Rayman's world. Mr. Dark captures the Toons - the source of light - and Rayman's friends. Without the light, evil creatures begin to roam, making the world unsafe for everyone. It's up to you, as Rayman, to free your friends and put an end to Mr. Dark's dastardly schemes!
Rayman Advance is a side-scrolling platformer starring the titular Rayman, a big-nosed chap with no arms or legs. Rayman can jump and use his hair to hover for a short period of time. He can also attack by throwing his fists, or winding up his fists for a more powerful punch. He can occasionally find special powerups that grant him unlimited flying power, giving him the ability to navigate through tricky mazes.
Aside from the platforming action, the other notable feature of Rayman Advance is its large, detailed and vibrant graphics, which have helped it to stand out from most other similar games in the genre.

Shining Soul is an Action RPG by Atlus. It is the first 'Shining' game to not be produced by Camelot Software Planning, and thus is not considered canon in the 'Shining' universe. However, the game serves as an internal homage to much of the 'Shining' series. All of the bosses are major villains from a previous 'Shining' game.
The author manipulates randomly-placed monuments to appear, increasing attack power as much as eight-fold during the run. Additionally, hundreds of critical attacks had to be painstakingly manipulated to allow for enemies to die in a single hit.

Shining Soul II is the last 'Shining' title to reach American shores, and the author's 5th 'Shining' TAS on the site. Unlike some previous games in the series, this game and its prequel play more like traditional Action-RPGs. This game, like its prequel, allows the player to pick a character type. In this run, the character chosen was a ninja, for his ability to use speed magic.
The author uses a glitch to dupe power wines and bombs, the former massively increasing his attack strength, and the latter making the run look more like Bomberman than a 'Shining' game!
This run is 17:58.75 faster than his previous Shining Soul II publication due to some very impressive manipulation to slaughter bosses in mere seconds. It is recommended that you read the authors comments for more information about the run and the game.

This movie of Sonic Advance is unique as a speedrun in one aspect: Sonic moves so fast that the "camera" of the game cannot even follow him. Therefore, he is rarely seen in the movie.
On the rare occasions we get to watch Sonic, we get to enjoy seeing him moving through walls, charging up for another dash, or making short work of bosses.
Besides the super fast speed itself, the speed also provides Sonic an ability (glitch) to pass through platforms and walls under certain conditions.
While this movie appears to be around 3 seconds slower than the previous movie, it is in fact faster. This is due to more accurate emulation and also including the GBA boot sequence.
This movie has been console verified and played back on real hardware by Extrems (and was previously verified by endrift).
