You play the role of Miner Willy, a bold explorer and adventurer. He discovers a network of underground caverns used by an advanced but now extinct civilization, and realizes that the mines contain lucrative metal ores. Through 20 caverns, you must collect all treasures before all time (air) runs out, watching out for the nasty guardians, the obstacles, dead falls, quicksands and all elements to be found in a classic platform game.
This movie completes the Enhanced Game mode exclusive to the GBA port, which contains 10 new levels interspersed with the original 20 levels. Reading the author's commentary is recommended.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is a role-playing video game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2003. It follows Mario and Luigi as they travel to Beanbean Kingdom in order to restore Princess Peach's voice from the clutches of Cackletta, who plans to use her voice to activate the Beanstar and have her wish to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom granted.
Potato, Migu, and Snodeca improve their previous run by around 49 seconds by using the European Spanish version of the game for its faster text boxes and using the "#1 Trousers" to save even more time. For more details on the strategies used, you can read the authors' notes.

Warning: Viewers who are photosensitive may want to skip parts of the run from 44:02 onwards as there are number of rapidly flashing visuals due to the glitches that are performed. There is an alternative encode that attempts to make these visual glitches less intensive by disabling layers.

Mario Party Advance follows a different format than the main games, since only a single person can play without connecting to another GBA. In this game, the player moves around the game board, visiting characters, running quests, and playing minigames. Many of the non-player characters are from classic Nintendo 64 games like Super Mario 64, Mario Party, and Paper Mario.
In order to beat the game as fast as possible, Nacho manipulates luck to achieve favorable rolls. Careful Mushroom management also allows him to intentionally lose some minigames when it would be faster than beating them.

Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge is an offshoot of the Mega Man Battle Network series of Mega Man games. While not the most popular game in the series, it offers many opportunities for TASing, with lots of luck manipulation and route planning.

Imagine Mega Man as an RPG set in an alternate universe where he and his fellow robots aren't robots but computer programs, and you end up with this series - but even this unique take on the premise is no barrier to continuing TASVideos' long history of quality Mega Man runs.
If you care to know more about the run, be sure to read the extremely long set of author's comments (which comprise, in fact, the longest such set of comments on the site - you have been warned). We also have a run for the second game in the series.

The Mega Man Battle Network series envisions Mega Man and his friends and enemies as computer programs rather than robots. It also changes gameplay from platformer to RPG, with battle mechanics similar to collectible card games.
In the second game, Lan and Mega Man are fighting a terrorist organization called Gospel, but this TAS divulges little of the plot. The author, mtvf1, races through the game, avoiding unnecessary random battles and precisely manipulating battle chip winnings and order to quickly overcome all foes. He also improves his previous movie by 02:06.51 minutes.

Zero has a new body which he does all the same old stuff with. Once again, it's on the Game Boy Advance. As with the other games in the series, there is a delay with every hit of the Z-Saber, so many enemies are killed in other ways. (In particular, in this game, Zero can pick up guns from some enemies and use them for added variety.)
This run is almost 4 minutes and 20 seconds faster than the previous movie, in spite of having over 30 seconds more text due to game version differences. A large part of this improvement is due to new combos. Also, the invulnerability times of midbosses are abused even further with midair wobbling of the Z-Saber or the Z-Knuckles. For more details, see the run's comments.

Mo Jie Qibing (魔戒奇兵 "Lord of the Rings") is a bootleg action game developed by Taiwanese bootleg game developer Vast Fame and released in 2003. It is a top-down shooting game in the vein of Pocky & Rocky - in fact, it even uses the engine from Kiki KaiKai Advance (known as Pocky & Rocky with Becky in the US), which Vast Fame are rumored to have obtained legitimately from its developers. This game's US release was translated as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, but the movie scenes that appear before each stage are captured from The Fellowship of the Ring.
Players take control of their favorite The Lord of the Rings character analog (Alice, Glenda, Jerry, Shredder, or Roger), and shoot their way through 8 enemy-infested locales (such as a desert full of cacti) that bear little resemblance to any place in the source material that the game is ostensibly based on. Each world has 1 or 2 stages, and ends with a boss fight.
Watch as Noxxa blazes through the game on hard mode with record-setting alacrity, using the fire-flinging wizard Gandalf Glenda for his slow-moving secondary projectiles that shred bosses. Both the camera and luck are manipulated in this run to get to the final encounter with Sauron (?) as quickly as possible - see the author's notes for a detailed breakdown.

In this run, klmz drills through the ten time attack courses in slightly under seven and a half minutes. Furthermore, he aims primarily for in-game time, as it adds to the entertainment value and adds also to the strategy, as there are time bonuses in this mode which subtract time.
This is an improvement of 5.47 in-game seconds over the previous publication. The real time improvement is 00:04.10 seconds. All of the improvements came from optimizations and better routes. This also features some play-style change that erases much more blocks without losing any time.

You probably know Nancy Drew. She's a popular fictional character dating back to the 1930s who has a knack for solving (and attracting) all sorts of mysteries. Many movies, TV shows, and even video games were made about her.

Rayman Advance is a side-scrolling platformer starring the titular Rayman, a big-nosed chap with no arms or legs. Rayman can jump and use his hair to hover for a short period of time. He can also attack by throwing his fists, or winding up his fists for a more powerful punch. He can occasionally find special powerups that grant him unlimited flying power, giving him the ability to navigate through tricky mazes.
Aside from the platforming action, the other notable feature of Rayman Advance is its large, detailed and vibrant graphics, which have helped it to stand out from most other similar games in the genre.

Shining Soul is an Action RPG by Atlus. It is the first 'Shining' game to not be produced by Camelot Software Planning, and thus is not considered canon in the 'Shining' universe. However, the game serves as an internal homage to much of the 'Shining' series. All of the bosses are major villains from a previous 'Shining' game.
The author manipulates randomly-placed monuments to appear, increasing attack power as much as eight-fold during the run. Additionally, hundreds of critical attacks had to be painstakingly manipulated to allow for enemies to die in a single hit.

Shining Soul II is the last 'Shining' title to reach American shores, and the author's 5th 'Shining' TAS on the site. Unlike some previous games in the series, this game and its prequel play more like traditional Action-RPGs. This game, like its prequel, allows the player to pick a character type. In this run, the character chosen was a ninja, for his ability to use speed magic.
The author uses a glitch to dupe power wines and bombs, the former massively increasing his attack strength, and the latter making the run look more like Bomberman than a 'Shining' game!
This run is 17:58.75 faster than his previous Shining Soul II publication due to some very impressive manipulation to slaughter bosses in mere seconds. It is recommended that you read the authors comments for more information about the run and the game.
