Battletoads (1991) is a futuristic beat 'em up game known for its extreme difficulty spread over 16 difficult levels. The mechanics in the game also change drastically from level to level, making the game one of the hardest and most varied for the NES.
In this game, the second most diabolical evil genius in the universe, The Dark Queen, has kidnapped Princess Angelica and Pimple - a battletoad. Rash and Zitz must save them by traveling through the most insane multilevel set of plans ever designed. This includes falling down huge shafts, racing through obstacle courses at breakneck speeds, riding on snakes through a massive maze of spikes, passing through a killer ventilation system, navigating through a missile defense system, climbing a never ending revolving tower, and much much more. Along the way, the Battletoads must also face off against an evil army of robots, genetically engineered rodents, and The Dark Queen herself.
In order to make the game a bit easier, its creators embedded some secret warp zones to skip a few early levels in their entirety. But that simply wasn't good enough for MESHUGGAH, feos & Koh1fds; they decided to travel directly to level 3, where they invent their own warp and skip right to the grand finale. They took a glitch found in this TAS and exploited it even further, to the point where the Dark Queen just gives up and returns Angelica and Pimple, going off to hatch an even more evil plan for next time. The glitch is done by breaking the game execution and sending it right to the game ending.
This run conquers the predecessor movie by 00:00.85 seconds by using a more accurate core and a newly discovered void jump trick.

BreakThru is a short, fast-paced game developed by Data East. It was released to arcades in 1986 and later ported to a few home consoles. You are the driver of a blue dune buggy, and your mission is to recover a stolen fighter plane, which lies behind 5 enemy lines that you must "break thru".

Dragon's Lair is much better known in its incarnations for other platforms as an FMV game with only slight amounts of control over the player's action. The NES version is more of a traditional platformer, but very smooth animation for the era and funny-looking characters inspired by the cartoon graphics of the other versions - this includes the final boss, who isn't seen very much in this run thanks to abuse of the game mechanics.
This is an improvement of around two seconds to the previous run.

Duck Tales is a classic game in which Scrooge has to collect treasures from all over the world. Some of the levels are not completely straightforward, and collecting items is sometimes necessary before proceeding. His cane also doubles as an almighty pogo stick that can be used in various ways, which makes jumping a lot more fun.
This is the sixth TAS of Duck Tales. Minor improvements and refined strategies here and there contributed around an additional half second of improvement.

Scrooge McDuck is advanced in years, he travels around the lake with Niagara on one side and Scotland on another, and beats money out of half-transparent bosses. He hides in the sand and rides the vertex, gets lightning strikes and beats liquid D-1000 robot with his little toe. He also jumps on his pogo stick like he has dementia. Or maybe all that is just a fancy of his senile mind?
The authors, feos and MESHUGGAH, complete the game 00:03.66 seconds faster than the previous movie by adelikat by minimizing lag, general optimization and some new tricks.

Ghostbusters is a hastily produced game based on the 1984 movie of the same name. The NES version is a notoriously bad port, and the Japanese version contains a glitch that allows the Ghost Alarm item to be sold for more than it costs, allowing entry into the Zuul Building much earlier than intended.

A boy named Satoshi suffers from a unique type of color blindness — he can only see in black and white. However, he also has a special ability to turn solid objects intangible and vice versa! But despite the amazing power he holds, Satoshi only wants to see like a normal boy. He seeks out an answer to his vision problem in a mystical manor called the Denine Devil Mansion, where he meets a scientist who offers him a game. If Satoshi wins, he might gain the ability to see in color. With that goal in mind, Satoshi accepts the offer and begins the Inversion game.
In each level, Satoshi must collect all of the keys to open the door to the next map. He can use his special ability to change the solidity of all objects in the level and reveal solutions to the game's many puzzles. Springs, moving platforms, vertical conveyor belts and levers can also be used to his advantage.

Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger is an action platform game based on Japanese TV show of the same name which later inspired US TV series Power Rangers. As in the show, the villain witch Bandora is plotting an evil scheme and zyurangers set out to stop her. The game consists of five stages each ending with a boss fight. Each stage is assigned to one of five zyurangers. The ranger starts with a blaster, but by entering a door halfway through the stage he gets his respective legendary weapon. Legendary weapons are stronger than the blaster, but in most cases have limited attack range. If the player collects ten coins scattered in the stage, a picture of zyuranger's respective mecha is shown and the ranger's health is fully replenished. Between the stages the player is challenged to one of three possible minigames: a simple quiz, a pong-like game or a bomb toss game. These minigames can be selected and played from the main menu, with the latter two available for two-player mode. The game has a password feature.

Metal Force is an unlicensed game developed by Open Corp. (who also made Buzz and Waldog) and released in 1994 in South Korea. It is of surprisingly solid quality for an unlicensed title. It controls similarly to classic Mega Man games, except you have two different weapons which you can switch between and upgrade by collecting power-ups from enemies. Aside from that, it is a linear adventure comprised of 7 missions, with a boss battle at the end of each. The stages of each mission are quite expansive and packed with enemies and obstacles.
This game was run as part of TASVideos' Dream Team Contest 5, and this TAS was built on a combination of multiple submissions of said contest - hence the high number of authors.
In this TAS, the authors make expansive use of the weapons and the various boosts in order to beat the game in 13 minutes and 9.6 seconds.

Ryu has just learned that his father has recently gone missing after being defeated in a dual against his rival. He must now take up his sword and avenge his father, all the while encountering government conspiracies and supernatural events.
In this run, a group of authors decide to eschew the usual ninja methods of killing anything that wants to hurt you and go for a pacifist run, only killing when necessary to progress. To accomplish this, the RNG was heavily manipulated and glitches were abused to skip as many fights as possible and reduce the number of enemies encountered.
