Hammerin' Harry is a pretty simple platformer. Armed with a big hammer, you make your way through 5 levels, and the first 3 levels have bonus levels as well. At the end of each level there is a boss, and in some levels, there are also mini-bosses. In short, this game is a "normal" platformer, you won't have a hard time figuring out what's going on.

Selected comments from the author:
High Speed was released on the NES by Rare Inc. in 1991 and is based on a real pinball machine released by Williams Pinball in 1985. The core rules of High Speed were ported over fairly faithfully from the original pinball machine although Rare added in two different minigames and a "wizard mode" goal which is reached by completing a total of 8 cannon minigames and 6 race minigames.
Completing all three races and all four cannon minigames causes a spaceship to appear which displays a message that states "you have beaten the system... for now”; beating another round of three races and four cannon minigames causes a rocket to appear which states “you have beaten the system this time.” and marks the end of the game. Reaching this final “you beat the system” bonus is the goal of this speedrun.

Hydlide is an old and somewhat notorious game, mostly because it has very strange gameplay mechanics. For the first part of the game, walking consumes health, and the character must stop every now and then to regain it.
This is one of the few games (the only one?) where the level grinding sequences are actually entertaining, while the boss fights aren't. Hitting a boss decreases your own health as well as the boss's, after which there is much waiting for more health until you can hit him again.
This is an improvement of 03:54.80 over the previous TAS, due to overall better levelling strategy and route planning.

Hyperbeatz is a homebrew rhythm game for the NES that plays very similarly to Dance Dance Revolution. He seeks out an answer to his vision problem in a mystical manor called the Denine Devil Mansion, where he meets a scientist who offers him a game. Kaettekita! Gunjin Shougi: Nanya Sore!? (帰って来た!軍人将棋なんやそれ!?, lit. It's Back! Japanese Military Chess: What Is That!?) is a video game adaptation of the board game Gunjin Shougi, which plays more similarly to the Western board game Stratego than shougi itself.
Each player has a set of pieces that consist of various military ranks. The objective is to either capture the opponent's flag or take out all of the opponent's pieces. Both players can only see their own pieces until their pieces directly make contact. Once that happens, the pieces that make contact are revealed to both players, and the one with the higher rank wins and takes out the piece. There are also mines and missiles, some with nuclear warheads, that can respectively affect all but one rank or affect multiple spaces at once.
Here, TaoTao would rather not play any games of Gunjin Shougi and instead opts to exploit a DPCM bug that's also in Super Mario Bros. 3 to corrupt the system memory and skip straight to the credits and the special message given by the developers. You can read more information on how this exploit was done on this page.

This game is notable because Konami teamed up with readers of Family Computer Magazine (ファミリーコンピュータマガジン) to form a group, called 芸夢工房 (geimukoubou, art dream workshop), in order to make this game. The readers were permitted to design the characters, monsters, events, message-texts, music, the title-screen, and such. With enhanced sound for the NES due to Konami's VRC7 sound generator Integrated Circuit, the game is considered a masterpiece to many Japanese people.
The story is about a pilot, Jin (also known as Gin), who is exploring a biohazard outbreak at a space colony, linked to the disappearance of Dr. Stolte. He arrives, only for the spaceship to be attacked. The effect of the outbreak soon becomes clear.

Lunar Ball, known as Lunar Pool in the US, is, as the name suggests, a pool game for the NES with the curious ability to adjust the friction of the surface of the pool table. Indeed, it is quite possible to play with no friction, and while this may sound easy, it actually proves to be impossibly difficult due to removing the major obstacle from the balls just continuing to roll forever, causing the game to never end.
With some heavy support from a bot (and massive loss of sanity), the author manages the nigh-impossible feat of making it all the way to the end of all 60 tables even in the face of this overwhelming opposition.
Reading the submission notes is highly advisable to explain some of the oddities such as the occasional pocketing of the cue ball. • There is a new power-up, Magic Mario, which allows Mario to stomp on more enemies than otherwise possible, shoot extremely powerful projectiles, and take a few hits before losing the power-up.
  • Graphics are rendered with a custom palette.
  • Almost all levels end with a Boom-Boom battle.
  • There are 7 worlds which Mario can visit in any order, each containing a hidden key.
  • After finding all 7 keys and beating the 7 worlds, Mario can access the 8th world to beat Bowser and win the game.
This movie is an improvement of 45 seconds over the previous effort.

Mario and Luigi, the best plumbers in the world, have a real job on their hands. A host of characters have taken over the sewers, and the brothers must clear them out of the pipes.
The platform puzzle which first introduced Luigi to the world has both single and multiplayer action with two differing game types. Crabs, turtles and fighter flies must be cleared out by jumping underneath the platform they're on, then kicking them away. Each level is cleared when all of the enemies are defeated.
In this TAS, Spikestuff plays on the enhanced European version (Classic Serie, ported from FDS) for its greater difficulty and completes one round (23 phases). The Bros.' potential for both hilarious antics and impressive teamwork is nicely demonstrated here.
If you're itching for more Mario Bros. action, we also have a run on the American version.

This time around, Spikestuff plays on the American version, as it has fewer phases and also has a pause bug not present in the European version, which allows Mario and Luigi to pass through floors. This is especially useful in the Test Your Skill stages, and allows for a faster completion of them. Like in the European version, the Bros.' potential for both hilarious antics and impressive teamwork is nicely demonstrated here.
