Barnstorming is an Atari 2600 video game designed by Steve Cartwright and published by Activision in 1982. The goal of the game is to fly through barns, while avoiding windmills and birds. There are four difficulties, going from 10 to 25 barns; this run uses the easiest one.
MrWint improves the previous TAS by 17.97 seconds (17.47 seconds in-game, reaching a time of 15.22 seconds in-game), thanks to abusing a glitch where hitting the top part of the barn just as one enters the barn gets counted. Please read the author's comments for more details.

Dragster, released in 1980 for the Atari 2600, is the first video game developed by Activision. It was programmed by David Crane, who later wrote Pitfall! The object of the game is to either beat the player's opponent across the screen, or to race against the clock for best time, depending on the settings used.
The game is well known as having the first console speedrun with the world record of 5.51 by Todd Rogers in 1982 according to Twin Galaxies. This record is known as the oldest, unbeaten world record in all of speedrunning.
MrWint & Omnigamer decided to try and match the elusive 5.51, and disassembled the entire game looking for how the 5.51 was achieved. After conducting their research, they found that the long sought 5.51 was outright impossible to achieve within the internal conditions of the game. After lots of flamewars, the now infamous Todd Rogers's record has been taken down, leading to his ban from Twin Galaxies.
This run achieves the fastest possible time of 5.57 on player two while also maximizing the distance, with player one completing the track in the lowest amount of input frames. It also improves the predecessor movie by 0.10 seconds, which translates to 0.01 seconds if you discard emulation differences. The improvement comes from the fact that the game processes the second player first, so he's the one taking the lead this time.

Watch this run being played back on a real console.

Donkey Kong is an arcade platform game released by Nintendo in 1981. It presented an early (if not the first) example of the platform genre, and was the first to incorporate multiple playfields, as well as the ability to jump. It is also the first game designed for Nintendo by Shigeru Miyamoto, and his influence was immediately apparent, as he introduced both the eponymous Donkey Kong and Mario (originally named Mr. Video and then Jumpman) in his debut game. It was developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Disney Interactive, with Ubisoft distributing the game in Europe and Australia.

In most levels, the player takes control of a four-armed, plasma blaster-wielding Stitch who must run and gun his way past enemies and various other obstacles to complete the level. In puzzle-platform-styled levels, the player takes control of Lilo as she sneaks around the spaceship to find a way to escape and contact Stitch. In tube shooter-styled segments, Stitch must fly a spaceship to reach the next level, shooting down other enemy ships and dodging obstacles along the way.

The game follows a blue-haired protagonist (named by the player, but originally called Kyou) as he journeys on his quest to become a T-Fanger. Along the way, he encounters Diabolos, who is not content with humans entering the Denjuu universe and so is killing off the Antenna Trees, thereby cutting off access to the Human World.

TowerFall Ascension is an updated release of the arrow-based single-screen arena fighting game TowerFall, which was originally released on the failed Ouya console. It builds upon the original game with a new cooperative quest mode for one or two players. Played in a normal or a hardcore difficulty mode, it offers different levels selected from a large map where different types of enemies need to be killed in multiple rounds to progress. The game also features trials, where a player has to shoot down all targets as fast as possible.
keylie completes all 48 trials, including the ones featured in the Dark World expansion, in a record in-game time of 1 minute and 13.842 seconds.

Völgarr the Viking is a video game released by Crazy Viking Studios in 2013, inspired by old arcade games like Ghosts 'n Goblins or Rastan. Players take the role of the titular Völgarr, risen from the dead and commanded by Odin to find and slay the greedy dragon Fáfnir. The game has minimal presentation and story, having no formal title screen or opening menu and no cutscenes or dialogue. It has a high level of challenge and a deliberate pacing, expecting the player to proceed with caution and learn the layouts of each level, playing each through multiple times until they are mastered. It also encourages speedrunning, including a speed runner HUD option, as the game uses very few randomized elements and has many options for increasing the speed a player can get through a level.
There are two paths available after beating Stage 1, namely the Crystal path, where difficulty gradually rises, eventually reaching its peak in the Tower, and where the player has infinite retries, and the Valkyrie path, where the player has a limited amount of retries (if one loses all retries on this path, the player is going to play the Crystal path variant of the same level) and generally much harder than the Crystal path. Doing a full Valkyrie path run is necessary to obtain the best ending, as it unlocks the true final stage as well as the true last boss.
keylie slices and dices through the Valkyrie path and obtains the best ending in record time.

While the USA release plays just like real American football, the Japanese version, used in this run, has a completely different goal. This version is high score based; more like the arcade release. Score increases with progress down the field, touchdowns, kicked PATs, and remaining time on the clock when the touchdown is scored. Another major difference is no option to select difficulty at the beginning: the game moves through the 4 difficulties as its normal progression to the hardest level (Super Bowl).

Bonk, a young caveman with a big noggin, intended to become the TurboGrafx-16's flagship character, starred in three games, Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, and Bonk III.
Since the system was generally considered a commercial failure, the first two games were ported to other systems like the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Game Boy, and two original games in the series were even made on the Super Nintendo.
In his debut, Bonk's Adventure, you play as him on his quest to rescue Princess Za, a small pink and cute little reptile, from the evil King Drool, a huge and ugly tyronnosaurus.

Together, they go on a journey to investigate a mysterious shipwreck that soon turns into a grand adventure to save the land from a powerful demon.
Like Kirby 64, the game is a 2.5D platformer. Klonoa can only move in two dimensions, but everything is rendered in 3D, allowing the path to curve and objects outside the path to be interacted with. Klonoa can attack by throwing Huepow at enemies and having him return with the enemy. Wild Arms is a Western-themed role-playing video game developed by Japanese company Media.Vision. Originally released in Japan in 1996 for the PlayStation, it was later translated and released in North America in 1997 and Europe in 1998 by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is noteworthy for being one of the first role-playing video games on the PlayStation, as well as one of the few to feature a Western American setting and motif. The game features 2D computer graphics for normal gameplay, while battle sequences are rendered in 3D.
Taking place in the fantasy world of Filgaia, Wild Arms follows the adventures of a band of miscreants and adventurers called Dream Chasers who scour the world in search of excitement and fortune. The player assumes control of a young boy named Rudy who has the ability to operate powerful weapons called Ancient Relic Machines (ARMs), forbidden remnants of a lost age that resemble firearms. Along with his companions Jack and Cecilia, the group must use their respective skills to navigate through the vast wastelands and dungeons of Filgaia and prevent an otherworldly threat from reviving their lost leader and destroying the world.
While this movie played by lapogne36 features a lot of heavy glitches, it still avoids the arbitrary code execution techniques that could have made the movie way shorter, but probably less entertaining as a whole.

Kenseiden follows the story of Hayato, a samurai looking to retrieve five ability-granting scrolls and kill some evil warlocks. This involves battling through sixteen levels, including four rounds of impossibly difficult "training".
It's a prime infuriating example of fake difficulty, as Hayato moves incredibly slowly and there are generally an impossibly large number of enemies on the screen at any given time (especially bad in the training stages, where one hit sends you back to the beginning).
This version of the run collects all the scrolls and bonus upgrades (as opposed to the any%).
While this TAS appears to be slower than the previous movie, it is in fact an improvement of 5.22 seconds when only considering time saves during the levels, resulting from overall better optimisation and a new strategy at the final boss (the same one as in the any% TAS).

The game is in a top-down view, monsters move about in real time, and the game certainly has RPG elements in that you level up from defeating these monsters. Nester, once the mascot of Nintendo Power, and his sister Hester have decided to star in a bowling game
As with every other bowling game in existence, you roll a ball down an alley in an attempt to knock down 10 pins. To do this in this game, you have to try and match up two gauges: Spin and Power. The Spin gauge determines how far left or right the ball will go, and the Power gauge determines how hard your character throws the ball.
This run improves the predecessor movie of the same authors by 0.07 seconds.

One of the few games for the Virtual Boy which actually offers a first-person perspective, Teleroboxer bears many similarities to the Punch-Out!! games — except it's substantially easier to manipulate. Indeed, it's possible to effectively autofire punches thanks to distinct controls being used for the player's two fists, which leads to ridiculously quick defeats.

Aliens meet the Illuminati is basically the plot of The Conduit, a First Person Shooter exclusive to the Wii. The game was made in response to the relative lack of more "hardcore" titles for the console at the time. In this title, one plays as Michael Ford fighting against the Trust, a mysterious organization trying to control America, and the Drudge, a race of alien invaders working with the Trust. The player is able to use a variety of weapon types to fight off attackers and makes use of an artifact called the All Seeing Eye to solve puzzles.
In this TAS, NEVERDOORS uses absurd aim, out of bounds, and other glitches to finish the game in under 46 minutes, and in 40:08 ingame time.

Touhou Kanjuden ~ Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom (東方紺珠伝 ~ Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom) is the fifteenth official installment of the Touhou Project series by Team Shanghai Alice. There are four playable characters: Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Sanae Kochiya, and Reisen Udongein Inaba, each with their unique shot and spellcard (otherwise known as a "bomb" in other (bullet hell) shoot-em-ups). It also features two main game modes: Legacy Mode, which functions similarly to the other Touhou games, but also Pointdevice Mode, a gameplay mode that removes lives and continues from the game but adds chapter checkpoints.
The story of the main game goes as follows: Someone is causing havoc in the Lunar Capital, and evidently, Lunarians have come to purify Gensokyo to make it suitable for them to live there (as they have a thing against what they consider "impurity"). With the help of the Ultramarine Orb Elixir (or not), the girls must now set out to stop this invasion and find the perpetrator behind this incident.
This run by kopiapoa plays the Extra Stage, which is unlocked by clearing the game on Legacy Mode without using any continues on any difficulty, as Reisen. He extensively grazes bullets in order to increase the point item value to its eventual maximum. By also milking the boss's attack patterns for score, he reaches an impressive final score of 2,429,908,660 points. For reference, the best known unassisted score is 1'016'971'530 points by kisara. Castlevania: Spectral Interlude is a Castlevania fangame for the ZX Spectrum, developed by Rewind and released in 2015. It mostly pays homage to the classic Castlevania games of the NES era, particularly Simon's Quest, but also takes on elements from later "Metroidvania"-style titles in the series.
Plot-wise, the game is set in the early 1800s, a few decades after Symphony of the Night, with the plot aiming to explain the disappearance of Richter Belmont and the Belmont clan after said game. The protagonist of the game is Richter's son, Simon Belmont (named after his ancestor of classic Castlevania fame), who with the help of sorcerer Joseph aims to remove Dracula's evil influence on the world by collecting demonic altar pieces, summoning Dracula, and whipping him to death as usual. However, some things don't go exactly as planned...
Noxxa achieves 100% completion and defeats Dracula in record time. Said 100% completion consists of the following:
  • Collect all 28 Altar Pieces
  • Defeat all 7 bosses
  • Get all 6 boss items
  • Get all 9 Health upgrades (HP maxes at 48)
  • Get all 7 Heart upgrades (hearts max at 50)
  • Get all 8 Metallic Plates
  • Apply all 8 Metallic Plate upgrades to the whip
  • Get all 6 subweapons
  • Get all other town upgrades (warp shrine, 2 map enhancements)
  • Complete the map by filling in all map tiles (visit every room)
  • Get the "true" ending (trigger Death event)
This is the first ever ZX Spectrum publication on this site.
