I seem to be unable to open and play movies that I have previously recorded. Whenever I attempt to go to Tools > Movie > Play movie... and then select my .vbm file, I always get the following errors: 'Failed to read complete save game tempvbaread.sav (1)' 'Movie file "[name of file]" is not in proper VBM format.' Does anyone know what the issue is here? Thanks

Did you start your movie from save data? Maybe the game saved information during your movie and it changed the original save data so it's not compatible with the beginning of your movie anymore.

Thanks for your reply. This error occurs no matter where I start the movie. For example: I load up a ROM and then go to Tools > Movie > Record New Movie... and then select from Reset (SRAM) and click OK. Then I click Tools > Movie > Resume/Exit Recording. Then if I go to Tools > Movie > Play Movie..., select the .vbm file and click OK, I get that error. Is there some step I'm missing in the recording and replaying process?

Which version of VBA are you using? I haven't heard of a bug like this.

I've fixed it. If I select "From start (power on)" then it works fine. The issue happens when I select "From reset (SRAM)". Not sure why, but oh well, things seem to be working now.

I thought this was an appropriate topic, so I'm asking what do I do if I NEED to start a movie from SRAM, because I get the exact same error :(. Any way to fix it?

For my starfy newgame+ run, I just played the published run to generate a save file, then select start from reset like the OP did. Edit: using this revision: vba-v24m-svn422

That just resets the SRAM. And the emu crashes on svn461 when doing that.
