Quick question. Does it support TR-DOS?
It's about .trd files, right? Probably. It starts blocks one by one, but, once all blocks are loaded, emulator loads them again. I'm too young to figure this out. (?)

Embedded??? Is it a joke?? You couldn't imagine how much time I have wasted to find the firmware for old computers! And here comes the first one that doesn't require the firmware! Dude, you are the legend!

I'm not a professional analyst, but I shall attempt. The more complex physics you make, the more difficult is to repeat the footage (walkthrough) using the same input. Let's take a medium level with all main assumed technics, objects and enemies you have constructed. If you gonna follow your plan, so, at best, AI will pass a level like you did. At worst, something will become wrong. Here is the main perpetrator: RNG. It must be exact! So, IMO AI should work like a bot, not like an input playbacker. It should process a route itself. Will it find a ladder or a small platform if it go left/right? If an enemy throws a fire at it, when it's a good moment to crouch/jump over? Should it go up, if an enemy is above the ladder? And so on. You can simplify the route by marking spesific places (creating special attributes that will route the AI), make the AI to try again if it can't jump on a platform, create a command list to make the players cooperate with AI. Here is my idea. You are the constructor, so you choose!

Yes, Mesen is a great alternaive, and it is very accurate! :) There's a topic for mesen here on tasvideo, if you search, by the way, if you want. And Sour, seems to be very open for any suggestion.
But it's still beta. Or Mesen's movie files are accepted for submissioning?

So, you have to go to: File -> AVI/Wav and check Disable messages recording option After that, record your gameplay. There will be no messages.

Probably no. If it covers a piece of screen, just extend the FCEUX window.

A 2 player fight will definitely be more entertaining, but also has a very high chance of being slower (due to lag mechanics of this game). Edit - I have been thinking about a few places where I might be able to leverage a second player for things like intentional deaths, but I'll work on 2p versions if/when I learn all the tricks for controlling two players at once
No-one wants to watch a slideshow. You have to buy a gaming keyboard that reads input from at least 6 buttons pressed at once. To make a 2P TAS, you have to use TAS editor where you can choose which buttons to press per each frame and see the result without playing back the whole movie. It requires NO sophistication from you. Arcade emulators doesn't have it for now =(

Does the existence of weapon itself on screen cause lag? Will throwing it off screen cause lag in next fight? Does walking back and forth waste even more time (barrels, boulders)
Probably, but weapons usually lie and are not as big as humans. You won't have time to throw them away.

Here it is: [2634] Genesis Double Dragon "1 player" by Dimon12321 in 03:17.47 Also, editors, please replace the NES version link at the description with Alyosha's TAS! I have doubts about combat being optimized. Oh, I'm kidding - it's not optimized! You should have found out which weapons deal high damages before TASing it. The best way to do so is to find useful addresses in RAM. Here are some info about SEGA Genesis version: Thread #7260: Double Dragon I don't know whether Arcade version has different moves/weapons as best ones, but it should be. Medium diffuculty is deprecated here. You have to TAS the game on either Easy or Hard, which one make the TAS more eintertaining. Voting no, however your TAS is still good for a newcomer!

Wow! That's how a TAS should look like. Is there any point in grabbing stars, skulls and shields? I don't mind of this: ignoring them won't save even a second, but they just give you some score. Am I wrong? Anyway, I definitely found it entertaining. Yes vote! Now it's old: https://youtu.be/oe7dEW3HOBE

BTW, could you make the 2nd knockdown on Drago without walking into him? It took only 1 combo to do that.

I was looking for a RoboCop 2 TAS, but my dreams are expired already. I didn't expect someone else will tear this game, but the objective is a little inappropriate for this game. 100% in a game that gives you a set of enemies? No damage? Well, it's a little challenging for SNES version where RoboCop is not so fast comparing to Genesis, but who will enjoy this challenge? Not me! Heavy CPU manipulations? How heavy are they? Heavier than manipulating high damage? I don't know all the AI details about SNES version, but AI is enough predictable in Genesis version. Standing enemies shoot rapidly (if spawned), running enemies run/go until their "time" is over than shoot, if they get enough close to RoboCop, they don't wait for "time" to over. It's just possible to manipulate a high "time" and delay enemy's shot by losing frames. That's all in outline. The run is slow and boring! Voting no.

Split-screen, 2 or 4 TAS footages, timers/frame counts... I would render that in Sony Vegas 13.

That was another door trick or the game is lagging? )) According to time tables, you managed to complete the whole game in 11 minutes 30 seconds (IGT) which is 13 minutes 8 seconds faster than Kimo's segmented WR, which is completed in 24 minutes 38 seconds. You did a wonderful work! Pedestal of the Spear of Destiny will break down if you decide to PWN it)) Hey, encoder! Why don't you make the encode including all episodes? That worth it!

If I'm not mistaken, it's the 27th submission of SMB that will be rejected soon. SMB is 32 years old, so let 5 more rejects and pay respect to our favourite game...
