Right now this video shows the exact way to set it up, it would require me to change a few time settings to make it slightly shorter but otherwise it would require me to stand in the statue for a minute to get the clip.
other method would be to come back later in the game and do the boss but to enter it from above the statue, but there's no guarentee that it will have a smooth route change.

the inclusion was meant to be more of a "hey look at this silly thing that I can do" thing, but it's turned more into a "you HAVE to include it even if it detracts from entertainment", which is exactly what this setup does.
if people find that setup to be fine then I guess I cant argue against it, it's just boring for me personally.

So I am getting demotivated on working on the all bosses category for this game, and it all has to do with the glitched boss fight of Maria vs Maria.
so I already explained my concern with doing this boss in this post: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=485982#485982
I had hoped that there could be a way to eliminate the time it took to get the statue to move so I can get the clip faster. one method I thought of was to grab a stopwatch subweapon, because the way the other statue in that room opens up is if you activate the watch in that room. while that method does push maria out of bounds, it unfortunately does not act in the same way as the other statue clip does. Instead what happens is maria just falls on the ground instead of falling through the floor.
This leaves me with having to do the clip in the other statue, which I have 2 options for:
1. I do the clip as soon as I enter the clock room for the first time and wait a minute before it moves again
2. revisit the room at a later time but this time, entering the clock room from the top of the statue. because if you're in the way of the statue, it will open up just so you can get through then close back up again. I could time it so this would happen as soon as the statue is about to open again, which would eliminate the wait time to get the clip in. this will require a change in the RTA route as I have no reason to re-visit the area that the statue opens up.
I wanted to make a movie that would entertain not just myself, but others too. But I just cant see this boss fight being anything but entertaining due to the tedious and pace halting setup it requires. and especially now that I'm required to fight that boss, it makes this increasing difficult to want to continue working on this movie.

Even though Maria is slightly slower than Richter (either from actual movements or from extra saturn loading), my guess is it’s somewhere around the same time as Richter.
Also keep in mind Saturn has an extra boss fight that isn’t in the PSX version.

ok so I found a way to enter the boss, but there's a few issues I have with it.
to briefly explain the clock room, statues will move every minute, so one minute it will be open, but the next minute it will be closed.
so to clip into the boss's room, you have to let the door close on you and you can get into the hitbox of the statue: https://i.imgur.com/r6QNtFq.png (Maria is behind her health bar)
then once you're in there, you wait another minute for the door to open back up, and that will clip you out of bounds so you can fall into the area.
so already this takes at least a minute of waiting around.
another issue is when you enter the fight, the room will look glitchy if you enter it: https://i.imgur.com/IvfYSVt.png
you can remove this glitch however if you pause the game, load and unload the map, then unpause, but doing this will take about 5 seconds because pausing the game is extremely slow in this version.
the last issue is the cutscene between Maria and Alucard still plays, and it's unskippable unless you start from dirty sram (and iirc saturn sram isnt the best, but that's irrelevant to the point).

the cutscene lasts for 30 seconds.
is it still worth it to do this boss? at this point I really dont see a benefit to fighting Maria other than to halt the run and show a glitch for 2 minutes.

Edit2: my concern for including this boss is that it will lessen the entertainment value for the run. if there was a smoother way to enter the boss then I wouldnt be against including it. I think if unintended bosses are possible to fight in movies then it should be up to the author if they're included in the run, I do not think it should be a requirement unless the publication already includes such a fight without it hindering the entertainment value of the run, such as the Julius Vs Julius fight in Aria of Sorrow.

It's a boss that should only be played in normal mode (alucard), and it should be locked out for both Richter and Maria.
and I think the same is true for Julius in AoS, where that boss is locked out for any other mode for the game except for the normal mode.

So i’m trying to do an “all bosses, maria mode” tas and somthing was brought up to me.
There is an extra boss that isn’t intended by the developers but it can still be accessed through a glitch. But since it’s not a boss that you’re supposed to fight as maria it seems like it overexceeds the goal of doing “all bosses”.
There is some sort of precedent regarding this involving Julius mode all bosses for AoS, where Julius Vs Julius can happen.
But the question is if there’s a way to access bosses that weren’t intended to play, would it be required or is it optional?

So Disney released a trailer for a Mulan live action. I hate everything about it.
They aren’t going to have musical scenes in the movie, which means no “Make a Man”, which is literally one of the most well known things about the movie.
I don’t understand why so many people think that these live action remakes of their older films are even worth seeing anymore, they are complete bastardizations of what made their original films good. None of these remakes are being made by anyone that has love and passion for the originals, they’re just cash grabs, that’s really all there is to them anymore.
Im also dreading the Lion King remake where I wont be able to relate to the characters because they’re just stripped of that. Because in Aladdin, Jafar is just some guy, Aladdin was just a guy in clean clothing (isnt he supposed to be homeless? Why are his clothes not dirty? They’re in a DESERT after all). Scar is just going to be some lion and everyone is just going to be an animal.
Im sick of these remakes, they’re not worth seeing at all.

That’s what a BIOS does. My Saturn SotN tas wastes 10 seconds with the bios start up over the movie it obsoleted, bios time will not count against you.
Now if you’re getting different results as in you cant skip past certain things like splash screens of company logos or something, run the old movie on the version of the emulator it was used on and see what inputs it’s doing.
Now if it’s different patterns of enemies or something to that extent, count it as an emulator difference, it’s either from using a later version of bizhawk or from using the BIOS.

If you think that file you have is a bios file, put it into the firmware folder of bizhawk and see if it works.

Yeah, as someone who was following undertale speedrunning since the discovery of PCE (saying that sounds weird now because of PCE the console and not the Punch card Exploit, lol), this TAS does the speedrun justice. Yes vote.
As a side note, I noticed some of the sound effects sound a little off, im guessing this is an issue with libTAS? I remember some music wasn’t playing back correctly and was slightly faster and pitch bended.
Edit: my favorite part has to be your ability to avoid taking as much damage on the Omega Flowey fight as possible.
