I know this run is that good when I miss a glitch right from the very beginning and have to replay it again. Yes vote and 10/10. Call us when you come back to real life. :)

In regards to the concept demo situation, yes, it's sad that this entire site is shifting towards the "concept demo" (me included) and away from what really makes a TAS worth publishing.

Angerfist, please stop flaming. I find the ROM rather hard to find, despite being a very well-known game.

Instead of whining and being negative, you should explain why. If you check the correct RAM value, I am 100% sure it will show the game has been beaten.
Maybe he was negative, but whining he was not.

Correct. All emulators that we support can do that. It's a handy tool. We can't do everything in one day. It usually takes a long time.

Here are where the time-savers occurred: Intro: - Leading with a charged shot against the bee miniboss in the intro stage, using the cars to to go forward faster, and manipulating Vile. 2 seconds Chill Penguin: - Jumping from slopes. This alone saved 2 seconds. - Better Chill Penguin fight, which saved 2 seconds. Boomer Kuwanger: - Jumping through ladders without grabbing them, and overall better jumping game. 6 seconds - Not having Homing Torpedo. -3 seconds. Sting Chameleon: - Getting past the rock monster without waiting. About 20 frames. Also charging up against Sting Chameleon, saving 5 frames. Storm Eagle: - Lag reduction and better platform management. 1 second. - Having Chameleon Sting. 5 seconds. Spark Mandrill: - Jumping through ladders without grabbing them. Maybe 1 or 2 seconds. - Better miniboss fight. 3 seconds. Armored Armadillo: - Lag reduction. 1 second. Launch Octopus: - Better miniboss fights. Using Chameleon Sting on the subs and a combination of Boomerang Cutter and Storm Tornado on the serpent. 2 seconds.

kirbymuncher, the random variables controlling the RNG in this game appear to be at CACA-CACB. I determined the following: - Coin flips cannot be manipulated except for doing coin flips or deck shuffles in advance. The variables only change when needed. - The variables change every frame on the overworld and in the menu, but do not change at all when modifying a deck. If you hit a good RNG value with maybe 20 frames to spare that gives opponent a bad hand, but does not give you a good hand, see if you can modify your deck beforehand to give yourself a good hand. The cards in your deck are stored in order of ID number.

ok i finalyl finished intro. here it is. im 2 frames faster than fractal. ill edit this post later..im drunk
I see you didn't jump at the slope, and thus used the same luck-manipulation sequence as I did at the end. If it is possible (not that you want to go back now), you could get the car to shoot very early from the left, so you can jump to avoid it and land on the same platform at the edge, and jump again. I hope you're joking about the drunk part. Good job for saving 2 frames.

Regain that frame you lost. Chop chop.
Luck manipulation ate the frame like it was an apple pie.

It was there for a while in early 2006 and before, but was taken down for unknown reasons.

I believe DeHackEd did this to prevent users from looking at other users' projects. So if there is no referrer (i.e. non-linked URL access), the script blocks the user.

Launch Octopus done. Download movie. Basically, I'm 24 seconds ahead now. Now, it's just Flame Mammoth, then the fortress stages.

I had a look at the "bubble_crab.vob" video (which is clearly misnamed) and I wonder why you didn't charge up the ride armor and mash the A button to get over, like in the TAS. Also about the miniboss skip. Does it matter which parts you have, or which weapon you are using? Is it lag that causes the skip? I can't perform the trick on emulator. Anyway, good job. P.S. It is required to use MPlayer to play the .vob files.

Same here, except I relegated Mammoth to last in order, which is not a big deal. I'm currently at Launch Octopus. When I find time, I will complete the battle and post the run in this thread. 20 seconds faster after Armadillo and 2.5 seconds saved in the Launch Octopus stage.

This information is not true (and mentioned in my submission text). Since then it has been confirmed by both me and hanzou by monitoring the ram addresses.
Yes, stupid guys that wrote FALSE tricks at GameFaqs. They are outnumbered.
We can always get rid of them by reporting a non-working code.

The one I always used was the coast of the Seafoam Island that you surf from Fuschia to get to.
As 1ntru notes, we are talking about even earlier than that. Use the trainer-fly (trainer-escape rope) glitch to generate a Missingno.

The lamest game to TAS would be NHL (insert year here). It would involve 59 minutes and 59 seconds of stalling then one goal.
Tecmo Bowl. Though you're right. Sports games are lame to TAS. And Tecmo Bowl is a superplay, not a speedrun.

Did you try everything, such as accessing Bill's PC and storing a Pokemon? I know that it works in Gold/Silver.

It doesn't? I believe it's had GB/SGB/GBC support since version 0.4.
I thought that before someone said "nitsuja implemented backward-compatibility in VBA" so I thought it wouldn't be in the official version. However, since you have the knowledge about these emulators, I must be wrong.

There's a sandbox. But really, I edit my submissions 5 times and no one complains. So I don't know why someone should complain about editing 3 times. P.S. Why is the Minor edit box now unchecked by default? Minor edit!

Bulbasaur only learns Vine Whip at L13. Leech Seed is nothing. Also, watch the run. A glitched Gyarados beats all.

Somehow, VBA rerecording is notorious for Windows dependence. VBA rerecording v19 doesn't work on Linux (except Wine) so it will probably have problems on a Mac. It seems that you tried using the official version. The official version has no GB/GBC support. Wait until nitsuja has a say in this.

How 'difficult' a pokémon is to catch is independent of their level. I know from experience that a Snorlax can be caught with just a plain poké ball.
Which only happens if the game doesn't spit out "You missed!", which tends to happen with glitched L100+ Pokemon. Also someone should check whether the Escape Rope point can be set by accessing the PC.

I don't know about luck manipulation. Maybe ask LagDotCom. How it goes: Manipulate your opponent into a bad hand, forcing a weak Pokemon out. Knock out that Pokemon in one turn. Instant win. It might not be always possible, but expect to see that a lot. Chamale, you can only use one pluspower per turn. Here are some RAM locations: http://www.datacrystal.org/wiki/Pokemon_TCG:RAM_map
