I don't see why a person has to be essentially forced to be a co-author if they don't want to be one. Whether they explained their reasoning or not, it's not anyone else call except the person in question, right?

Ummm... this isn't going to take like 3 months is it? Even though I'm sure it's a slam-dunk judgement, why keep everyone waiting that long for it?
Does this really matter? If an author(s) want the submission to be more complete by having it delayed for the sake of adding all the notes for anyone unfamiliar, I don't see the problem in waiting.

If there were an award for "Controversial TAS of 2018", our run would probably win, even though it shouldn't have controversy at all. The real controversy is nominating and voting for an obsoleted TAS, which you guys seem to be OK with it. I wonder if this happened before.
...let's seriously not spark this up again. As the wise Nahyuta Sahdmadhi would say, "Let it go and move on."

Thanks for the feedback. I've yet to make a decision, but luckily I don't need to yet. I'll make a strawpoll when I get around to the first darkness and then I'll make a decision from there. Promised myself I would release the first WIP when I reached Wizardy Lab, so there it is. 33 ingame frames and 28 realtime frames ahead of my old run.
Did you use any non-standard settings? The run desyncs for me when the golem appears. Advance bus-level timing is on. If I turn it off the run desyncs even earlier. I'm using the latest DeSmuME 0.9.9 with standard settings and the (U) (Legacy) version of Dawn of Sorrow.
Weird. It worked fine for me using default settings from newly downloading 0.9.9 and the ROM. --- Encode: Link to video Nice stuff so far, Kriole! Looks smoother now than the last one! I do have one question, though. Would using the knife/dagger special (Alucard special in Julius Mode) to enter loading zones be faster any?

If I may, it's actually a small team working on the Yellow NSC TAS with TiKevin83 as the head/leader of the project.

Am I that bad with analogies? Alright then, allow me to clarify. TASVideos publishes a TAS. The information in the publication is false. The error remains forever without any correction. So, if a cheater makes a fake TAS on purpose to get notoriety and it gets published somehow, his cheat will remain on the site forever, and at best obsoleted.
...that's assuming a judge is too incompetent to not know the difference and failing to properly follow the Judging Guidelines by not checking every detail of the submission prior to rendering judgement.

It's extremely hard to stay perfectly neutral when our work is under attack and suffers from unprecedented criticisms which it never earned. Also, mostly what I did in this thread was merely defending our work.
What you also did was completely disregard the warnings of staff despite several warnings to stop it. Now because of this, this thread is now under lock and key.

This is getting very tiring now. If you have an issue with something or someone, please settle it civilly! I will not have anymore personal attacks or disruptive posts in here again.

...alright, enough is enough! I am beyond disappointed in those that took part in the drama. From the accusations to the personal attacks being thrown around. As a community, we are supposed to be supportive and understanding of each other. We can't do that if we are quick to lunge at each other's neck like this. As individuals, we have opinions and feelings. We are free to express them so long as we do it responsibly. Shutting down that freedom to express them is not only irresponsible but also causes problems. As for the assumptions of peoples' motives for voting what they did without factual concrete evidence to prove it. That is basically jumping the gun and also served no purpose other than to add to the problem. While the possibilities of the majority of the votes could've been related to the drama from the thread for Mr. Wint's submission exists, the reverse could also exist. It's even possible that the numerous 'Yes' are biased as well for various reasons. You cannot truly make such reckless accusations on how a person voted. Nobody can make such claims. Just as you are allowed to express your likes and feelings in favor of the run, others have just as much liberty to express their dislikes and opinions on the run. No one should have to resort to personally attacking because of differing opinions. And this goes to for EVERYONE! TASer and non-TASer alike. Have some humility and respect for yourselves as well as each other. Be humble and have a more opened mind when viewing another's opinion. As with many other things in life, entertainment is subjective and that subjective opinion varies from person to person. It's fine to have an artistic vision and be proud in it, but don't let that vision overtake rational thinking. Kudos to Mars608 and Mr. Wint for keeping a cool head throughout this and staying out of the chaotic mess. That being said... The excessive attacks and arguing is over. I must highly suggest and recommend that everyone stay on the topic of the submission. Any further disruption of the thread WILL have staff intervention.

Sonic Classic Heroes is a ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit).

It must be noted that the co-creator of Sonic Classic Heroes, flamewing (Marzojr on here), does not recommend TASing the hack currently as a new version is in the works with lots of bug fixes. I had inquired with him directly about it and he discouraged it as the next version was already in progress that will fix many of the bugs and glitches (if not all of them) in the present in this version. Also, as a person that occasionally does RTA for this, the run is quite questionable... plus I'm fairly sure you could make a verification movie that completes the game with Team Sonic that gets all Emeralds to use with this. Are you sure that you've tried every possible strat for this? For example, Spring Yard 3. At the very start, 1 Super Peelout before jumping, bounce off of a Buzz Bomber, Super Dash up+right at the right positioning which should line you up with the Invincibility Monitor as seen here. Because the viewers hate when you skip the stages. Even with the level-wrap glitch in 2D Sonic games, there are lots of negative responses, just imagine what would happen if you jumped directly to the final boss fight from the very beginning, for example.
That's not always true. Yes, there are some people that detest glitching of any sort or anything outside of "developer intended play". Except there are also those that do like seeing things outside of the typical norm being done in games. It's a matter of personal taste that can easily be interpreted in different ways.

I must recommend and suggest that you read the Movie Rules first before posting or submitting.

Um, shouldn't the game name in the submission be called "Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix" instead of "Sonic 1 Megamix"?
The game has been called both. Prior to the 4.0 releases, it has been referred to as "Sonic 1 Megamix". Regardless, the name will be changed to the former later anyway.

As the topic name says: What are your thoughts on birthdays? Especially of your own birthday. For me, as long as it's not mine, I'm okay with it. I would wish a person a Happy Birthday and try to do something for them. As for my own, however, I absolutely loathe it with a passion. I never celebrate mine nor do I care to. To me, it's like any typical day for me. Plus, my "birth" is nothing really to celebrate anyway so it's whatever. Mere coincidence that mine is today... Ugh! Let the rest of this wretched day commence...

That used to be an absolute mandatory criteria. There are some exceptions to this. While playing on the hardest difficulty level is most preferred, there have been some submissions that played on lower difficulty levels which still have been accepted and published on the site. Main ones that easily come to mind are the Super Star Wars movies and the Spiderman movies made by arandomgameTASer.

TiKevin, I must say, I am quite surprised that both you and gifvex made the jump into the TAS world! For your first TAS, I'm impressed! I was originally going to consider working on this myself, but due to other projects and lately more emulation advancements that I can't utilize, I had to leave it be. Good on you for taking it on! After taking a look at the encode, I was sufficiently entertained. The changes in route from RTA was neat and caught me off guard! Good job! Voting Yes! ----- Also my little two-cents on this matter... As much as it shouldn't/doesn't need explaining due to it having already been said a few times, it seems that it still hasn't been made clear. The Poké Doll skip, while could be seen as a glitch, is NOT a glitch. The Ghost encounters are treated as Wild Battle encounters and due to that, the effect of the Poké Doll ends the battle as intended. The Marowak Ghost encounter is one of those encounters like the others in Pokémon Tower. Due to the battle itself being ended, the game continues on like normal.
